Falling Sky [active/open]
Character(s): Anyone and everyone
Content: The domes are falling!
Setting: Entirety of Paixao
Time: Week 42
Warnings: Probably violence and injury.
Note: This will be multi-thread style. Feel free to toss your characters wherever they may be!
There was a loud bang and suddenly the painted skies of Paixao began to crack. Angels and clouds separated from the mural they had once been apart of and began to fell to the earth, crushing anyone and anything they managed to land on.
They were the first, but they certainly weren't the last.

Streets of Vanaheim
She had never been so glad and happy to be out of the apartment.
The streets of Vanaheim were suddenly filled with screaming people, running away in every directions, most of them with no clear goal except not getting hit by the debris. Priere however, immediately dashed towards the gate.
Or at least she would have... if the crowd wasn't in the way... and the debris too. A chunk of the roof loosened over her, letting down a rain of smaller rocks and debris over a large section of the street. She twirled her baton out, sending out baton doubles and wind over her head, destroying some of the pieces and pushing some more back.
For now at least.
no subject
The Nobody pushed through the panicked masses in an attempt to find somewhere less busy. He could easily leave the collapsing dome, but the crowd's constant jostling was making it difficult to concentrate for even that brief moment he needed. The falling chunks of stone only made things worse, adding to the chaos.
Something exploded over his head and Marluxia brought up an arm to shield himself from the raining debris. The pieces were smaller than he expected and he quickly began to search for the source. It didn't take long for him to notice the pink-haired girl amongst the sea of blonds, and he began to make his way toward her.
If she was capable enough to take out some of the falling rocks, she could easily take care of at least one distraction.

She'd found nothing terribly suspicious in the ceiling. Not to her, anyways. She'd only checked a few spots, and she was SURE she hadn't done enough damage to cause this, but it was hard not to feel like what she'd done hadn't somehow played a part in this. It was too coincidental for what she had done, hadn't had something to do with this.
Still, HOW? How could it have caused this?
Twilight quickly shoved those thoughts aside best she could. There wasn't time to think about why right now. She had to do what she could to help people.
Running into the crowds, her horn shined brightly as she used her magic to stop a large chunk of falling ceiling, diverting it safely away.
Actua Are / J7 area, moving towards Joutenheim Gate. [MAJOR VIOLENCE WARNING ;;; oops]
Zidane just stared as dome began to shatter around him. Bad enough that he didn't know where Dagger was, but with this happening? He could only hope she was safe. ...Was it his brother's doing? He hadn't heard from Kuja lately either. Didn't even know if he was okay. Didn't even know if he was still in the city, but y'know, with stuff not blowing up, Zidane figured Kuja was keeping out of trouble and it was better if Zidane didn't try to involve himself with his brother (especially after the last time).
Zidane's seen Kuja make a mess of a place... but...
No. Now wasn't the time to think. He had to find Dagger, and he had to help anyone he could on the way. He flipped down from a balcony and rushed for the nearest cluster of natives.
"Don't just stand there, we gotta move! The whole thing looks like it might come down! Joutenheim Gate's the nearest, we need to get you all out of the city!"
"No!" A woman tore away from him, horrified. "We can't leave the city!"
"What? Come on! You can't stay here! Can't you see it isn't safe?" He stepped towards her again.
She screamed and scratched her hand across his face. He stumbled back, more out of shock than anything. He looked to the others in the group, but they were shuffling away from him more and more, and not towards the gates.
He shook himself out of his stupor, though it was too late for him to catch sight of the piece of falling dome. His eyes met those of a painted angel as he lunged for the group, trying to push them out of the way, but a corner of the dome knocked him back before he could reach anyone and he rolled away to the ground on his side.
He wished he could block the sound that followed out of his mind as he groaned and pushed himself up on his hands and stared, eyes widening in horror at the scene before him.
He... there couldn't have been any survivors from that...
Zidane just sat back, stricken, unable to move. He wanted to help get people out, and now he himself needed help to get moving again.
Why didn't... why didn't they just listen to him...
Re: Actua Are / J7 area, moving towards Joutenheim Gate. [MAJOR VIOLENCE WARNING ;;; oops]
Thankfully, the Chosen was not badly hurt. After being stunned for a couple of seconds, she pushed herself up, coughing, and tried to peek through the dust. Oh, no.....were there people under there? How could anybody survive that?
Just then, Colette spotted a familiar figure in the distance. Having heigtened vision thanks to her angel transformation, it was a lot easier to make out how that figure was than it would have been before.
...Wait a minute, was that one of the people she served at the restaurant? Zidane, was it not? What was he doing sitting down there?! He could be hurt!
Colette spread her wings again and floated straight towards him. "Zidane? Is that you? We have to get out of here, fast!"

Laharl didn't today need much in the way of senses, however, to notice the sudden rumble and hear the sound of what sounded like something crashing into the roof above them.
Then, before he'd barely began to process what was happening, the world around him began to fall apart.
no subject
At the first sound she snapped out of her sleep, pulling a muscle in her neck from the swift motion. She looked around her, flustered, trying to place in her mind what exactly the sound was. It wasn't anything in the apartment, so outside, then?
She moved away from the table towards a window, rubbing a hand over her neck at the twinged muscle. She didn't make it to the window, however, drawing to a sharp halt at a new sound, followed immediately by the room shaking around her. She looked up, fear building deep in her stomach, at the ceiling beginning to crumble.
It would be less trouble to her body to jump out the window than stay in a collapsing apartment, but...
"LAHARL!"

atop of City Hall, so unlikely anyone else will drop by but that's fine :3
So this was a pretty sweet change. Hades was, quite literally, situated atop City Hall in a slimy dark lounge chair, his journal on his lap and a conjured bucket of popcorn, still laughing it up. Keeping him sheltered from any falling dome is a fiery umbrella, burning up anything that might threaten to hit him.
It gives him plenty of time for other things.
Below, more fleeing people took a hit. "OH YEAH!" He pumped a fist, throwing popcorn over the side with his other hand. "Ten points! Woo!"
OR WILL SOMEONE
The small mage did her part in destroying some of the larger pieces of falling debris. While everyone was fleeing for their lives, no one was paying attention to much else, but Shantotto was far more calm and observant. It was hard to not notice the figure atop of City Hall.
It didn't take but a few moments to cast a powerful Flare spell on the spectator.

LOOK THERE. IT'S A FLASH. ...I mean through the streets towards Niflheim.
So if yor happen to see a flash of blonde bolt past you, it very well could have been Praetoris.
It's not like he could issue any city-wide messages when his journal (and quite possibly his office) was being flattened. He couldn't make any comment of the situation if he was dead. And boy, did he have words. This kind of terrible thing is exactly what he was talking about!
He's followed by an entourage of his staff that he managed to rustle out from under their desks at the first quakes, his and all their arms filled to the brim with paperwork. The closer he got to the gate, the more they start freezing up, and it got harder herding them on.
...if you do manage to stop Praetoris, don't expect him to be completely coherent. He's been lucky to keep his staff to hold it together. Sort of. He's not doing so good himself. His city is practically collapsing around him. Keeping running towards Niflheim was about the only thing that's keeping him from losing his cool. And possibly his lunch.
Heading towards Iriela
He had to move quickly, but that wasn't easy, what with the panicking crowds and falling debris. But he wouldn't give up; he couldn't just leave his TARDIS behind. So he ran, trying to be as little of an obstruction as possible.

At the roof
If they were here...
Squeezing her eyes shut, she cried out wordlessly as she was pummeled with chunks of plaster. It was up to everyone else to save those who needed saving. It was only a matter of time until Urd had to let the dome fall.
no subject
That state of mind shattered the same time as the walls did. He succeeded.
He needed to get out of the center of the dome, that was the worse place to be right about now. Instead he was getting tossed and shoved by frantic civilians, until finally one of them almost twice his size pushed him down at the edge of the street. Hadn't these guys ever heard of women and children first?
Tiny gravel sized bits of plaster fell on Emizel as he lied on the ground and made him stare up at the ceiling again. Only this time he saw that Urd up was there now too, working on buying everyone else time even though it was futile. It was still going to fall, and fall it did.
"URD!" Not even sure what had gotten into him Emizel darted off closer to the middle of the disaster after Urd fell under the rubble. She.. she was supposed to be a goddess after all, she's probably gonna be fine. No point in getting self even more hurt by having someone else trample him or getting crushed too.

The Streets of Joutenheim
Immediately, Jade unleashed his spear from his arms in a pillar of green light. Then, raising the spear, he called out, "Thunder Lance!" Lightening appeared from nowhere, striking the chunk of debris and blowing it back into a nearby building he hoped was empty.
no subject
He watched as the piece of ceiling was flung to the side with ease, his eyes widening a little as he saw the foundation of the building it collided with begin to shake... "JADE!" he yelled, "It's going to collapse, we need to get out of here!"

"This... this is a nice place, isn't it? Quieter than I thought it would be -- " Oh, why couldn't she think of anything better to say. Why couldn't she tell him that she was glad to be here, with him? Just the two of them? Why couldn't she --
But a loud, sudden crack in the distance interrupted her thoughts, as she suddenly pushed her chair out from the table, her eyes widening at the volume of it. Thunder? No that wasn't -- she turned to Luke, her expression slightly panic-stricken.

There was so many things he wanted to say too, that was the worst part! He'd messed up the last time she'd been here, so Luke had promised to himself not to make that mistake again, and yet here he was, still failing.
"Oh... yeah! It... is," Luke responded lamely, having been jerked from his thoughts.
This was getting stupid, he just needed to go on and talk to her--Wait, what was that?
Luke jolted to his feet as she did, when the loud sounds began. His gaze quickly locked with Tear's. "W...what the hell is that?" Not that he expected her to know. He had a bad feeling, however.

the orphanage!
But Terra needed to do something; people were suffering just outside her door, and the orphanage in particular was a great concern of hers. With Eden's bottle tucked safely in her belt (since she was certain the genie could handle herself quite well on her own...) she set off towards the building at breakneck speed, casting a Tornado spell just ahead of her to prevent some of the larger pieces from falling on the small building. "You need to leave! Everyone! You need to get somewhere safe!"
no subject
Once he got there, he tried to get some of the older children to help, while going inside to find any younger ones who hadn't been able to get out. When he came out, he heard a young woman yelling and looked in that direction to see a tornado nearby... seeming controlled by the woman who spoke earlier...
He was surprised, yes, but for now he brushed it off and went back inside. There were more children in there.

Near St. Destino's
Donna had been walking through the fields, towards the church, where she knew her Doctor's TARDIS was hidden. A loud bang coming from the city caught her attention, and she turned to see the dome collapsing in on itself.
"No!" She shouted, even though her brain knew her vocalizing wouldn't change anything. The domes were far away at this point, and she knew she wouldn't make it back to the city before major damage was done. So, she ran the other way, towards the church.
"Doctor!" she shouted, running in. "The city! It's... Doctor?" She stopped when she was met with silence. The Doctor wasn't there. She went back out, going behind the building this time to find the blue box carefully hidden there. She went in, knowing he would be inside.
"Doctor?" She called out to the empty space... not there either. That meant... Donna walked back to where she could see the city crumbling down on itself. "Oh no."
Locked to Timon~ ....angst warning.
Curiosity won out, and the meerkat changed routes and dug her way to the surface, working hard to break the through the ground above, but finally her head popped out and she got a good look. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, not at this level. She jumped out, taking the sentry position, and scanning all around her. She could feel the tremors beneath her feet. She just knew something wasn't right, but what...
Her ears twitched at more cracking and finally she looked up and her jaw dropped. Ma never paid much attention to the dome above. It was strange to her, but she could never really make out much to it. If there was a vulture flying overhead, she'd be fine, but her sight wasn't too good.
This, however, Ma could see, and she scurried right back into the hole she created, down into the tunnel, rushing back towards her den. What to do, what to do, what to do... Maybe if she dug herself deeper? Yes! That could work! Would there be time?
Clearly not. No sooner had she started, her den collapsed in on itself, a jagged piece of the dome practically becoming a drill as it pushed through and grazing her side. For a creature of her size, it was enough, and if she didn't give herself a heartattack first from how quickly her heart was beating, trying to un-bury herself while injured might just do it. The surface wasn't too far at least, but she could feel the crumbled dirt pushing against her wound as she continued to try and free herself in a overly-panicked scramble.
She needed help. Badly.
no subject
The tunnel drew deeper into darkness, seemingly endless as he moved. And for a moment, Timon had begun to doubt that he had truly moved anywhere at all until finally he reached the end. It was there meerkat came to a dead stop, wide staring eyes looking over the rubble that awaited him there. This was it; this was the tunnel that had once led to his mothers den. It had collapsed. Stunned, he staggered back a few steps. A tunnel collapse, just as what had happened to… Timon shook his head, fighting the hoard of long repressed memories. This was neither the place nor the time, but regardless what he told himself, the pieces fit precisely in place around him.
Franticly, he looked over the rubble. Were he to try digging through it he risked furthering the collapse. But if he didn’t, he would never know whether his mother had still been in there. He could not abandon her again. “Ma!” Timon called out once more, pulling rocks from the rubble. “Ma, can you hear me?”

He couldn't stay here forever. Laharl and Flonne and Gwen, they were on their own, and Laharl was without his strength. But the people here were in just as much danger, and Krichevskoy couldn't hold this split forever.
A loud crack came from above and behind and Krichevskoy turned only to nearly come face-to-face with a piece of the dome over twice as big as himself. He managed to catch it, but the lapse in concentration snapped the doppelgangers out of existence.
He hissed in a breath through his teeth. He was never going to make it back in time at this rate.
no subject
"Old man!" he called out, as he neared his father who he'd just watched catch a large chunk of the ceiling. In Laharl's arms was his mother, unconscious.

St. Destino Hospital Area
Mao hurriedly stuffed his Slaystation and a few games into his inventory, sparing a last look of farewell to the charger he had built for himself before bolting for the exit. Staying inside might as well have been a death sentence for all the room there was. He'd nearly been crushed once already in trying to get to his room.
He'd nearly made it out the door when a sudden thought struck him. "Yorda!" he exclaimed suddenly, turning on his heel to face into the dilapidated hospital. He couldn't remember if she was in there or not.
"O, Oi! Yorda!" She better not be in there. If she made him go back in there after he went through all the trouble of getting his things and getting out...

Sky
A strange twinge began in his heart upon seeing the people below. Should he help them? But no - what was he thinking? He didn't care about these people.
He didn't care at all.
Outside Cafe Eresat [L7]
But when another large something fell past the window they'd been eating beside and crashed against the street below, it was enough to get his attention. It seemed to have gotten the attention of other patrons, too -- people were craning their necks to look outside, and some of them had already begun to panic. His meal forgotten, Gourry rushed to his feet and took a sharp turn towards the door, hand at the pommel of his sword as he burst through it, snapping his gaze upwards only to see that the dome above had begun to come apart.
He could see the sky. He hadn't seen real sky since coming to Paixao. Grimacing, he looked over his shoulder, narrowing his eyes as he tried to gauge the number of people still inside the cafe. The only thing to do was evacuate, wasn't it?
"Alright, we gotta get everyone out of here, it ain't safe! The roof's comin' down!"
Around the apartments
It didn't take long for her to figure out what was going on. She darted away from the piece about to land on her. The girl ran as fast as she could, but with the sky falling the way it was, she was luckily she wasn't completely crushed.
Xion stumbled over a fallen piece, slamming into the ground. Before she could get up, another piece fell onto her. Darkness seeped from where it had hit her legs. She wasn't really that badly hurt (well, at least not compared to what she was used to), but she was stuck. This... could be a problem.
have no fear, your once-bf's pal is here!
"Tch -- Hang on!" she hollered from above, leaping off of Bahamut's back and falling to the ground. No sooner had she landed, spear in her hand, then she was rushing over to the girl. "Got yourself in a bit of a jam, eh? Let's get this off you -- " Fang gripped the stone debris tightly -- getting ready to try and heave it aside.
