Falling Sky [active/open]

Character(s): Anyone and everyone
Content: The domes are falling!
Setting: Entirety of Paixao
Time: Week 42
Warnings: Probably violence and injury.
Note: This will be multi-thread style. Feel free to toss your characters wherever they may be!

There was a loud bang and suddenly the painted skies of Paixao began to crack. Angels and clouds separated from the mural they had once been apart of and began to fell to the earth, crushing anyone and anything they managed to land on.

They were the first, but they certainly weren't the last.

Yorda had been startled out of her thoughts when she'd noticed the dome beginning to fail. Luckily for her, she'd been at the hospital and not out and about. The princess took one frightened look around her and ran, leaving everything behind except for the white dress she currently wore. Her bare feet slapped against the floor as she navigated the labyrinthian hallways she'd come to know so well, giving a terrified cry as she heard the crashing sounds drawing closer.

She spotted a familiar tuft of white hair and called out as she struggled to squeeze through, desperately hoping he would hear her. "Mao! I am in here!"

"Hurry up!" Mao snapped from the exit. "You better not make me come in after you! I know you can run faster than that!" But even as he said that he was starting to edge in a little more. With a frustrated grunt, he thrust his hand out. "Just grab on when you get close enough!"

His mind frantically skipped from thought to thought and observation to plan. He obviously couldn't just leave Yorda there, so he had to be somewhat careful with what he did. And he had to factor in the falling debris in their escape.

Mao sounded annoyed, but Yorda knew by now that he was only worried about her. She moved faster, reaching for Mao's hand so she could pull herself through. Luckily for her, she was still rather small and was able to wriggle out easily enough. "What is happening?" she asked Mao, frightened. Until she had met Ansem, the princess had always felt safe within the city - and even after her kidnapping, she had never thought something like this would happen. She only hoped everyone else would be able to get out safely.

"Should we look for Urd?" Yorda knew the goddess could take care of herself, but it didn't stop her from worrying.

It took Mao a moment to answer, his frown deepening as he continued to assess the situation. Urd might be a good choice. She had a lot of power behind her and that power seemed to be pretty versatile if that sister that used to be here was any indication. If she had some sort of defensive skill, it would be easier to stay under that while they got out. But then again...

"Only if she's on the way. That goddess can take care of herself." He wasn't about to go straight in the middle of things on a "maybe," especially when a simpler option was available. "It'll be easier if we just get out now!"

Yorda nodded, though she was worried. She trusted Mao, and Urd, and if Mao said she would probably be alright, the princess believed him. She held on to his hand, too frightened to let go at the moment - and besides, she was afraid that even if she did let go, they would somehow lose each other.

"Then let us go." They could look for Urd later if they didn't see her on the way. And who knew how long it would be before the rubble buried them all? It hadn't taken her island long to begin falling apart after her mother's death, after all.

Mao glanced down at her hand in his with some hesitance, but after a second of thought decided to allow it to stay that way until they got out. It would be easier to keep her from getting crushed by falling debris like this, anyway, and made sure they wouldn't get separated if something cut them off. The last thing Mao needed right now was for Yorda to go wandering off because she was trying to search for someone.

"You'd better keep up," Mao grumbled before sprinting off in the direction of the exit. If any part of this could be said to be "good," it was that with all of his excursions to the other floors for parts, Mao knew the way to the exit like the back of his hand.

"I will keep up," Yorda reassured Mao. Usually, she refrained from physical contact with Mao, ever since after their first meeting, but fear and the wish to not lose him amongst the swiftly-growing piles of rubble meant the princess held on tightly. She ran a little behind him, her bare feet slapping against the floor as she was dragged along, stumbling a bit in her haste to keep up with him.

Luckily for them both, they knew the hospital well by this time. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too long before they saw the light of day again.
