Falling Sky [active/open]

Character(s): Anyone and everyone
Content: The domes are falling!
Setting: Entirety of Paixao
Time: Week 42
Warnings: Probably violence and injury.
Note: This will be multi-thread style. Feel free to toss your characters wherever they may be!

There was a loud bang and suddenly the painted skies of Paixao began to crack. Angels and clouds separated from the mural they had once been apart of and began to fell to the earth, crushing anyone and anything they managed to land on.

They were the first, but they certainly weren't the last.

As she finally reached the doors, Terra was looking quite distraught. Though the sight of someone else helping the children eased her fears, even if just a little... They weren't alone. She was going to help them too!

She turned towards the young man with a sense of urgency. "It's not safe here," her voice had a pleading tone to it. "We need to make sure that the children get to shelter!" She wasn't sure that she knew who exactly this man was -- but if he was willing to lend a hand, then she was quite sure that it didn't matter in a time like this.

"I know." Roderich said, pausing to talk for a second. "I have told the older children the way to the nearest gate, but I know there are more inside. I won't leave them there." He knew she would understand, but he at least wanted to let her know there were more inside. He had seen them on the first trip in.

If she wanted to follow, that was fine, but he was beginning to wonder when the dome right above the building would fall. He didn't want anyone inside it when it finally did... He knew he could probably survive (he'd survived worse), but who knew about anyone else.

"There were only one or two left inside. I can get them if you get the rest going towards safety"

And follow was exactly what she did. The calmness was oddly catching, and knowing that most of the younger children had already been sent to safety did make Terra feel slightly more at ease.

"I can do that," she responded to his question with conviction. "After they're safety on the other side of the gate... I'll come back to make sure that you and the rest made it out." She nodded, as though to solidify her point, then turned on her heel to leave. But her feet didn't move as she propelled herself forward -- in fact, she seemed to even hover slightly above the ground as she rushed towards the exit, ready to pick up the children she encountered along the way.

Roderich watched as she left, eyebrow raised just slightly at the way she 'walked' off. He ran back into the building, finding the last of the hiding children and quickly outside. One of them was slightly older, so he pointed the way out to him, pressing them onwards. Watching as they left he turned to check the surrounding area.

He was inside one of the buildings next to the orphanage making sure it was empty when he heard the loud crack. Next thing he knew, the building around him was starting to crumble, having been hit by a falling piece of rubble from the domes.

Roderich swore, running for the door, then finding it blocked by rubble. The crumbling stopped, and he found himself trapped in a small area near the door.

"Wunderbar."

Even with the sounds of the world crumbling about her -- Terra was able to easily pick up on something that wasn't the domes collapsing. Just as she had reached the gates, corralling the children outwards towards the untouched lands -- she looked over her shoulder, a large pile of dust catching her eye.

"Stay here!" she commanded, surprised even by her own forcefulness. "And stay together! I'll be back as soon as I can!"

As she launched off from the ground again, there was a dull, unsettling sensation building up from within her stomach. What was this feeling? Worry? Concern? It bothered her more than she could have imagined -- seeing those children in danger like that.

But she didn't have the time to try and figure out what it meant -- as she reached the place she had left the man helping her, she gasped quietly to herself -- finding that some of the surrounding buildings had begun to collapse under the stress of what was happening around them.

Had he... gotten out in time?

"Hello!?" she called in a loud voice, "Is anyone there? Can anyone hear me? I'm here to help!"

He looked towards the voice as he heard it, glad that the girl had come back towards the building. The rubble was definitely not stable and he had become more trapped as time went on. It wasn't the best feeling in the world.

"I'm here!" He shouted, trying to project his voice up, and out of whatever cracks were around the rubble. There wasn't any light from anywhere, so he didn't know what may be the easiest route out of his new prison was. "I apparently got myself into a wonderful predicament here..." He continued rambling on. "Think you can do something to get me out?"

"Yes, I..." but there weren't really time for explanations on the 'how.' It was time for action -- "Just stand back!" she warned, cupping her hands together in front of her. Energy began to build in the palms of her hands, a warm heat rising along as it continued to gather. When it became almost unbearably hot, that's when she narrowed her eyes, concentrating on the pile of rubble that separated them.

"iii-YAH!" she cried, as a meteor spell crashed into the rocks, sending most of the pieces flying, as well as working to break up some of the larger ones. "Are you all right?!" she called as the dust began to settle.

On her shout, Roderich ducked away from her voice, trying to keep himself from whatever she was going to do to clear the rubble. The tornado had been impressive, but he didn't want to be caught in whatever she was thinking of next.

After whatever hit the rubble stopped, Roderich stood again, pushing away some of the smaller stuff still left to look out at her. "I'm fine. It would take more than that to take me out."

He pulled himself out, dusting off the layer of debris on his jacket. "Danke."
