Prepare for Landing. [Complete]

Character(s): Linali Li, Kanda Yuu, Rabi, NPC receptionist, Ashe, Shunsui, Nanao
Content: The female Black Priest travels to the center of the city to reunite with Rabi, his friends, and Kanda.
Setting: Actua Are [J7]
Time: Sunday, early afternoon
Warnings: Flirting, juice stains, a broken nose, and 'sweet' faces. Bewareth.

Under the warm sunshine, the exorcist softly shuts her black mini-PC. She slips the journal into her shirt's inner pocket and hops to her feet. She took the coat (which she had removed a while ago due to the heat) and grudgingly put it back on again. She knew that it would fly off if she had tied it around her waist.

Flipping her hair out of the collar and stretching her limbs, Linali positioned herself for takeoff.

Crouching, the dark boots began to whir, the cross-embedded orbs attached to the ankles began to glow, and....

Blast off!

A thin dust cloud was left as her starting point; she shot through the sky like a fighter jet, hair and coat flailing wildly behind her. Thanks to an in-depth, three-dimensional map of the city, Linali was able to designate her route of travel; it also allowed her to recognize block J7 from a bird's-eye-view.

Sooner than she expected, she was homing in on the hotel. Anyone within a ten-meter radius would be able to hear the growing sound of something burning from the sky.

He had already been on his way towards the Actua Are hotels when Linali contacted him. Kanda had been wondering why he and Rabi had been the only exorcists to be pulled into this world. Or, alternately, why it had been only the two of them and nobody else. Linali's arrival was somewhat comforting, for lack of a better word, but mostly it drove in the fact that nothing he could do would make this place more sensical.

So, he had no (big) problems with returning to the center of the city. It was a long walk, but he wasn't in any hurry and didn't particularly care if he was slightly late. Rabi and Linali were the only exorcists with powers that allowed them to cross long distances in very little time. Kanda, though he could move fast enough on his own, saw no need in this circumstance.

Occasionally taking glances at his journal's map, Kanda made his way along the streets of Paixao towards their meeting point. His exorcist's coat was in his left hand, slung over his left shoulder. For whatever reason (illogical, not worth examining), the temperature had suddenly spiked upwards in the morning. So, he just wore a plain white button-down- sleeves hiked up a bit- and black slacks. It would do, for the time being.

After all, the hotel staff hadn't yet realized that neither him nor Rabi had any money with which to pay.

Even if Kanda hadn't seen Linali in a while, he could still recognize the noise of her dark boots landing. Very few things in the world sounded like that.

The noise had come from just up ahead, near his destination. Thankfully, he wasn't the only exorcist here with a decent sense of direction. With that in mind, he continued at his own pace towards the Actua Are hotels, knowing that Linali would wait there if she didn't see him immediately.

And if she bothered to come with such speed, she must have been anticipating a wait anyways.

Ashe was never much of a morning person, but someone is certainly wide awake from all the rustling and bustling she has been hearing for quite some time now. Not wanting to keep whoever it is who is awake waiting, she slowly sits up and rubs her eyes, stifling a yawn. Realizing that it was Rabi who is very wide awake, she just watches him go out the door with sleepy eyes. Stumbling off her bed, she strides as fast as she can to the bathroom so that she can wash her face before either Shunsui or Isaac wakes up. She is glad to find that the bathroom is still empty, and so she uses it as quickly as she can and gets out to let the others use it.

Making sure she looks presentable, Ashe walks out the room to follow Rabi. It took her several seconds to adjust to the bright sunshine, but she is very glad for the familiar weather for once. Yesterday's weather was intolerable, but she can definitely get used to this bright sunlight very well. Noticing the red-haired figure heading over toward a fake tree, she breaks into a trot to follow. Ashe was quick enough to catch the last phrase that Rabi utters toward the dark-haired girl seeking shelter under the fake tree, Uh... heh, sorry 'bout that.

"Well, You must be a friend of Rabi's!" Ashe gives the girl a slight bow, "Very nice to meet you, miss."

Ashe's concern for being quiet would have struck Shunsui as being very sweet. He would have offered to carry her downstairs or go down and bring up some breakfast in return, had he known. As it was, Shunsui's bed was empty. The covers and pillows were all lumped up on one side.

Shunsui liked to sleep in cold, fresh air. The beds were far too soft for him. That was why the roof was so appealing! Up there, with the big pink coat to keep the shingles from biting into his back, Shunsui felt he had a good view of everything. The romantic side of him thought the city, with all its mysterious lights, very beautiful; while the duty-bound side figured it would be easy to rush to anyone's aid should a hollow, or some new foe, appear. He was catching wisps of other shinigami reiatsu as well, but none strong enough for him to figure out their locations.

He also hadn't tried to peek into the windows of other rooms while he was on his way up the fire escape ladder. No. Not him! (All the curtains were shut anyway.) If he had, he'd ONLY been looking for Nanao...Just in case she was staying at this very hotel too! Yes, he had a perfectly reasonable explanation to look into people's windows. If he had been looking. Because he hadn't.

So when explosions of noise roused him from a deep, meaningful sleep in the sunshine, Shunsui crawled to the leafgutter and peeked down. Ahh! One of his friends had found their friends! How nice!

Shunsui had half a mind to go down there himself, but decided that took too much energy. Being on the roof was so nice too. So he smiled and waved, very sad that it hadn't been Nanao crashing around. Not that she was the type to crash around without provocation, or anything.

Upon coming closer to the buildings, Kanda eyes first snagged on bright red- Rabi's hair. After that, it wasn't hard to locate Linali. He hadn't expected Rabi to get there before him, and had been waiting for the other exorcist to come flying in on his hammer and cause more ubiquitous propety damage.

All for the better, he figured. If Rabi made a hole in the walls, it'd be a lot harder to dupe the hotel staff into giving them another night's board.

Walking nearer still, he noticed that Rabi had another companion with him. Kanda didn't recognize the blonde woman, and assumed that there was no reason he should. Now that they weren't in any danger of Akuma attacks, it wasn't surprising that he'd go off and pick up strays.

As he came to a stop alongside the group, he offered a short nod to Linali as greeting. To Rabi, he simply gave a glance. As for Ashe, he didn't seem to pay her any attention at all.

Smiles always get to Ashe's better side, and regarding Linali's bow with a nod, she accepts the girl's hand with a laugh, "Pleasure to meet you too, Miss Linali!" She was just going to continue the greeting with pleasantries when she suddenly notices a dark-haired man stopping alongside the group and giving Linali a nod and Rabi a glance. Flustered at the man's abrupt yet quiet entry, Ashe just blinks in confusion at the man.

Kanda!! You're here! It's been so long! Linali's joyful shout startles her, and Ashe steps back a little to allow the three friends to reunite. While she would never say it in fear of sounding childish, she does feel rather left-out among these people, and so she is very glad when Linali gestures towards her, Kanda, this is Rabi's friend Ashe, the name rings a bell in her head.

"Why, you must be the Kanda Yuu that Rabi was looking for," she then extends her hand toward Kanda for a handshake. "I am Ashe Banalgan Dalmasca, very nice to meet you."

Oh, it seemed as though Rabi were waving at him. Perhaps that was his cue.

Shunsui looked over the roof itself, withdrawing from the gutter briefly. Pity there weren't any leaves lying around, or even better, cherry blossoms. His dramatic entrance would have to forgo the usual swirl of petals. It struck him oddly that he hadn't seen flowers, real flowers, for a few days.

Anyway, Shunsui spotted a nice smaller building that would do just as well. It was only one story high. The group around the Actua Are would be able to see him on top of that building, as long as he perched on the very tip of the ledge, which, in turn, would make his entrance all the more surprising.

With a flare of reiatsu, suddenly the man was perched exactly where he had planned to be perched. Ahh, using the shinigami teleportation technique was much nicer than climbing all the way down that fire escape.

"It is I, Shun-chan," he said in his deepest, most serious and resonating voice. He also assumed a grave face for no reason other than his own humor. There were two new faces that he'd never seen before on the streets in front of the Actua Are. They both appeared to be rather feminine at first glance. Shunsui wondered where Isaac was...

Kanda stiffened up at Linali's sudden embrace, but didn't exactly shake her off. He knew better than to try something like that with Linali. Even if the threat of Komui didn't apply here, she was one of the more scary females that Kanda had the misfortune of knowing. In short, he let her hug him.

"It's been a while," he agreed, looking slightly uncomfortable as Linali stepped away. While Linali went and introduced Ashe. He had a vague recollection of either Rabi or Linali talking about her and two others, but he didn't see anything particularly special about her. But he extended his hand as well, giving Ashe's hand a perfunctory shake. A self-introduction was unnecessary, since she seemed to already know his name. (Had Rabi gone around giving out his name? Kanda would hope not.)

"Not long enough," Kanda replied shortly, having caught the gleam in Rabi's eyes when the Bookman had noticed him arrive. A warning glance was issued, just out of caution, but the redheaded exorcist didn't seem to notice. His attention was instead diverted towards.. a man in pink up on the roof.

The pink man was then upon another roof, introducing himself with a flourish, and Kanda could only stare with a raised brow. He had few words with which to describe this apparently flower-inclined old man. At this point, he wasn't even going to think about what sort of teleportation technique the man had used.

"..Rabi, you just had to collect a circus, didn't you?"

Shunsui's entrance does strike her as rather cheesy but it is still very funny and so Ashe laughs and claps more out of amusement than out of courtesy. Being stranded in another world is far from pleasant, but she is in a strange way glad to have found herself in this new world because she has seen so many things she would never have ever experienced if she had stayed behind the palace walls. For one, she would never have experienced how it feels to be looking far up at someone and clapping at him with many other people. She feels like a normal citizen and it feels nice.

However, her smile drops when she catches Linali's whisper to Rabi, what of your friend Isaac? She stops clapping and worriedly looks around for the tall man. She could only look at Rabi with a worried expression when he turns to her looking for explanation, I haven't seen him today... you know where he is? Biting her lower lip, she looks around once more before turning back to Rabi, "I...I'm afraid I do not know where he is," then deciding that it is her responsibility to make sure he is not loose, "I need to find him, all of you can just stay here, I will be back." And with it she turns around and runs back toward the hotel to find her unstable companion.

Shunsui's "mean" face melted as he inclined his head at the applause. He was back to his usual somewhat-befuddled puppy dog, which turned into a huge yawn as he threw his arms over his head and stretched. That felt good.

Clunk. Shunsui sat down, still stretching, with his legs hooked over the gutter. with a satisfied grunt, he lay his hands across his lap.

"Rabi, won't you introduce me to your friends?" he asked while scratching the stubble on his chin. "They seem to be veeery nice people. Strong, too. It takes a lot of strength to unpave a road."

Then he noticed Ashe dashing off and, it just clicked then that she was going back upstairs for Isaac. "Oi! Ashe! I could help you with him, if you want!"

Kanda was, in a word, unimpressed. "Shun-chan," while he appeared to be much older than himself and Rabi, looked like nothing more than a bum with a flair for the melodramatic. Also, the ability to teleport, but Kanda wasn't about to speculate on that. After seeing the capabilities of a mere sixteen-year-old human, not even an exorcist, he convinced himself that power distribution of other worlds had to be even more convoluted than in his home world.

At the comment about unpaving a road, he glanced over to where Linali had landed. She had a tendency of doing that, but it was generally more acceptable when the Church could pay for everything.

He didn't deign to introduce himself to the man on the roof, as Rabi had probably already given away his name to his new "friends" anyways. Wonderful.

Ashe turns away from the receptionist with a sigh, gathering from the lady behind the counter that her companion had indeed left the hotel in the early morning. She feels that she should start looking for him again but Ashe has just woken up and she feels tired already just thinking about how she needs to go around the town again. Suddenly catching sight of the cheerful girl she met just then, she forces a small smile and holds her head higher, "Well, it seems that he went away this early morning," she explains to her other companions who followed her back to the lobby.

"I...think I will look for him after breakfast," she flashes another smile before continuing. "So! Let's go get breakfast, shall we?" She ends cheerfully, not letting Isaac's disappearance weigh her down. This is not her city and there are lots of other people more capable than her in making sure the unstable man makes no mess. For now, she will enjoy her breakfast in good company.

Minutes earlier, Shunsui had swung off the roof with an elegant half-hop, hanging from the ledge with his fingers for a moment before landing squarely on his feet.

An inoffensive-looking blonde man sweeping the ground gave him a strange look.

"Thank you for letting me borrow your wonderful roof. It served me well," Shunsui said to the man before wandering after Rabi, Linali, and Kanda.

Currently he was back in that boring old, fussy hotel. It was only because the only people he knew in Paixao were there as well (and also because Linali had mentioned 'drinks.') And now that Ashe was suggesting breakfast, that also sounded like a good idea. The thought crossed Shunsui's mind that, although he was hungry, the most he'd be able to afford to do was sit at the same breakfast table and drink the bottle of sake he'd found. Not that it was a -bad- thought...He did miss food, though.
