Prepare for Landing. [Complete]

Character(s): Linali Li, Kanda Yuu, Rabi, NPC receptionist, Ashe, Shunsui, Nanao
Content: The female Black Priest travels to the center of the city to reunite with Rabi, his friends, and Kanda.
Setting: Actua Are [J7]
Time: Sunday, early afternoon
Warnings: Flirting, juice stains, a broken nose, and 'sweet' faces. Bewareth.

Under the warm sunshine, the exorcist softly shuts her black mini-PC. She slips the journal into her shirt's inner pocket and hops to her feet. She took the coat (which she had removed a while ago due to the heat) and grudgingly put it back on again. She knew that it would fly off if she had tied it around her waist.

Flipping her hair out of the collar and stretching her limbs, Linali positioned herself for takeoff.

Crouching, the dark boots began to whir, the cross-embedded orbs attached to the ankles began to glow, and....

Blast off!

A thin dust cloud was left as her starting point; she shot through the sky like a fighter jet, hair and coat flailing wildly behind her. Thanks to an in-depth, three-dimensional map of the city, Linali was able to designate her route of travel; it also allowed her to recognize block J7 from a bird's-eye-view.

Sooner than she expected, she was homing in on the hotel. Anyone within a ten-meter radius would be able to hear the growing sound of something burning from the sky.

Nanao blinked at the sound thrashing that Rabi was receiving, but after she had overcome the initial shock, it was nothing to her. She semi-immune to this sort of random violence - after all, she was used to seeing Abarai Renji and Madarame Ikkaku (or anyone from the Eleventh Division, for that matter) beat the stuffing out of each other for a whole spectrum of reasons that ranged from the mildly justifiable to the absolutely idiotic.

She glanced at her Captain, who had just made the offer for her to take his seat, and she hesitated momentarily before moving to do so. She thought that it was wrong to take her Captain's seat, even if he had offered it to her, but since he told her to, there was no way that she was going to disobey him either.

As she moved to take the seat, she noticed something on Ashe's face change. Her expression had gone blank, but her eyes told her a different story.

Nanao caught her Captain looking at her, silently asking her a question, and she knew what he wanted to know. Foregoing the opportunity to sit for the meantime, she approached Ashe, and gently reached out to squeeze her hand. "Mrs. Ashe, are you all right?"

Quickly snapping off of her faraway thoughts about her deceased husband, she blinks confusedly at Shunsui before the words he said registered in her mind, Miss Dalamasca? Don't be sad, please! I'm sure Rabi isn't too hurt. Before she could reply to Shunsui, however, the dark-haired lady that Shunsui refers to as 'Nanao-chan' squeezed her hand gently, Mrs. Ashe, are you all right?

Thoroughly embarassed to have been caught daydreaming, a slight blush creeps its way to her cheeks, "Oh! Y-yes, I am alright," then realizing that her reply will still reward her with more inquiries about her thoughts, Ashe tries to come up with excuses or things she could do to avoid the questions, finding that no explanation will truly release her from the barrage of questions they might ask. "I, e-excuse me, for a moment," she stutters and walks away from the group with a stride, heading towards the restroom at the end of the room.

"Hmmmm," Shunsui said.

He suddenly seemed to have a chair with him, as he'd decided to Flash Step because ugggh, those other tables were so so soooo far away, and he didn't want to make his feet ache any more than they were already. There wasn't quite enough room between Nanao and Ashe (where he wanted to be...) so he sat on one side of Nanao.

Glancing at her, as if to reeassure himself that she was there sitting next to him, to make sure she wasn't a drunk hallucination, Shunsui then turned to Rabi. "Oh," he said, "If only this were Soul Society. There was a beautiful woman in the fourth division who could stop your bleeding just by having her soul cutter lick you."

Shunsui paused.

"I asked her one day if she herself could lick me instead, and I found my hospice stay considerably lengthened."

He seemed halfway into a daydream at that point.

"He would," Kanda agreed mildly. Rabi was very cockroach-like in that aspect. And so, seeing Linali's point, he made no further threats to become a new face in slave trade. That didn't mean he wasn't thinking about it, but simply thinking about it was better than acting on it. Plus, he was already sliding the jacket from his shoulders at Linali's request.

"Before it starts getting sticky, at least," he grunted, handing it over. While most of the juice had sloshed over the front of his uniform, a few bits here and there had made it onto his shirt. His white shirt, which was annoying, but he'd been planning on getting new clothes anyhow.

Glancing back over towards the table of people (he could've sworn he saw something fast out of the corner of his eye), Kanda remembered that he, Linali and Rabi had yet to eat before that.. interlude.

Nanao glared at her captain for mentioning such a thing about Captain Unohana, and shoved down the spike of jealousy that threatened to come out of her mouth as a severe scolding. Instead, she reached into her gi once again, and bopped her captain soundly on the back of his head with her fan.

"It would be a good thing not to stain Unohana-taichou's name that way," she said, her voice as controlled and even as she could make it.

She would never say it out loud to anyone, but she had long envied Captain Unohana's unique position amongst the ranks of the captains in the Gotei 13. She was beautiful and kind, and willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. While it was rumored that she had a rather cold and sadistic streak, it was also true that this side of her rarely ever came out. Nanao had been around for quite a while, and she had seen it come out only once.

It should not have come as a surprise, then, that Shunsui would be attracted to Unohana - but that did not stop her from feeling jealous, especially since she could never be like Unohana no matter how hard she tried.

It was, after all, not in her personality description.

...Now there was a good reaction from Nanao! Just what Shunsui wanted. Maybe she was secretly jealous, he thought? He liked mentioning other girls in front of her.

"Oh, but I was very rude. My Nanao-chan is right to hit me. Maybe she should have hit me even harder," Shunsui said, rubbing where she'd smacked him and giving a light-hearded laugh. "You must forgive an old man, rambling away like nobody's listening. Unohana-taichou is a very respectable woman, not fit for the likes of me, oh no."

After he said this, he leaned on the table so that his elbow was all over Nanao's space, and looked tired. Was everyone done eating yet? Shunsui wanted some sleep!

He walked with Linali so that she wouldn't have to drag him, but didn't push her arm away either. Linali was probably one of the few people who could get away with touching him without permission, simply because Kanda didn't put much stake in hitting girls. That, and she'd hit him right back. (Not to mention Komui's inevitable wrath, if Kanda were to do anything to his precious sister.)

Ignoring Rabi as they headed back towards the room, he used his free hand to unbutton his shirt a bit. It was just the hallways, so he didn't care about anybody in the hotel seeing him. And he needed to get the damn thing off before the fruit-juice smell started seeping through.

forgot to tag someone. D: ashe's turn.

Nanao blinked as her captain seemed to slide across the table on his elbow, practically invading her space. If this were any other person, she would have taken this as a very grave offense and kicked said person far and away from her, but this was her captain. There was nothing she could do against him.

So instead, she sighed, and said: "If you would like, taichou, you may go upstairs and I will make your excuses for you. I'm sure that Mr. Rabi and the others wouldn't mind you leaving for now." She lowered her voice, still keeping it on business. "Moreover, sir, I think it would be important for us to discuss what exactly is going on around here. I have my suspicions, but... I think it would be best if we talked about what we are going to do for the next couple of days until we find a way to get back to Soul Society."

[ooc: gyaahh i'm so sorry for lagging behind! XDD]

Ashe had run to the restroom in fear that she might embarass herself by crying in front of the people she just met, but the tears did not come even when she was finally alone. And so, making her way toward the table slowly, she realized that Rabi, Kanda and Linali are gone. The other two are probably helping Kanda clean his clothes, she muses, or perhaps Linali is trying to help Rabi stop his nose from bleeding. The corners of her lips tweak a little in amusement.

When she is close enough to the table, Ashe realizes that Shunsui is invading Nanao's private space with his elbow. Nanao does not seem to mind one bit, speaking to Shunsui in a low voice like lovers use to whisper sweet nothings in each other's ears. Envy tugs at her heart but Ashe keeps the smile on her face as she approaches the two of them, "I apologize for the abrupt exit, I hope neither of you are offended by it."

(ooc: Sorry if I'm late D: Nanao-mun, I really want to do an AIM scene with you sometime, or at least let's start a thread with just Shunsui and Nanao? :B)

"Ohh, why yes, Nanao, of course," Shunsui drawled quietly, arching both his eyebrows. What matters could be more important than their unrequited love? "And yes, I would appreciate an excuse on your part while I go sleep. Make sure you have a good one for yourself when you'd like to join me..."

Luckily, Ashe had arrived again, derailing that particular conversation.

"How could such a lovely lady as yourself be offensive, Miss Dalamasca?" Shunsui smiled at her; a wide, lazy smile, and started sliding out of his chair. Normally he'd linger a long long time until everyone got tired of him, like the smell of old food, but Nanao's words had made him so excited.

[identity profile] cold-destroyer.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Kanda rolled his eyes at Rabi's snickering, but the redhead was out of the room immediately afterwards. One would think that after having his face smashed into a table, he'd be able to shut up for a change. But apparently not. Giving it a second thought, Kanda really wasn't sure why he expected otherwise. This was Rabi, and receiving customary injuries from the Japanese exorcist was not something new.

Grunting as he headed over to the sink, he eyed his soaking shirt and stained coat. Well, if Linali couldn't get the juice out, then he didn't know what could. It would be best to just leave that to her. As for his hair..

"I'll take a shower once you're done in here," he replied, shrugging. If he was going to get that fruity stench off, he was going to get it all off.

Nanao looked up at Ashe, and bowed her head. "Not at all, Miss Ashe. But I do hope that you will pardon us for leaving." She rolled her eyes slightly at Shunsui, and gave Ashe a small smile, as if to say: "See what you and I have to put up with from men sometimes?"

"It would seem that my captain wishes to retire already, and there are a few things that we need to discuss in private." So saying, Nanao stood up, and bowed. "Thank you for your gracious company, Miss Ashe. It was a pleasure meeting you and the others."

That said, she moved to stand behind Shunsui's chair, and with a firm jerk, yanked it out from under him so that he sprawled onto the floor. It was not something she liked doing, but it was the only way to get him on his feet and moving again. "Let's go, taichou. There are a few things that I need to tell you, and I would like to know what is going on in Soul Society."

(OOC: Go ahead and don't wait for me--I was waiting for Ashe but she hasn't responded and I think Shunsui's reaction to having his chair yoinked is easily predicted. :D)
