It's a Cool Pool Party! [Completed]

Character(s): Everyone! Come on down~
Content: Urd throws a pool party at Jogo da Crianca for everyone to enjoy.
Setting: Jogo da Crianca pool!
Time: Noon until night.
Warnings: Probably none. Maybe blatant fanservice of all the sexy (and not so sexy) characters.

It's been too long since the citizens of Paixao made use of the fairly impressive pool at the park. Like all of the landscaping and architecture of the city, the pool seemed ancient, almost in its appearance, wide and large and full of clear, glittering water. Equally sparkling trees provided shade all around the perimeter and comfortable outdoor chaises (made more comfortable by extra cushions today) and picnic tables dotted the area through out.

For the event, colorful balloons had been created and now floated peacefully in place as if held by an invisible hand. Crepe ribbons were strung from tree to tree and tiki torches, waiting to be lit once the sky started to darken, held their vigil in strategic points around the pool. Two long tables have been spread with snacks made by Belldandy and Genie, so they're sure to be the most delicious cookie/sandwich/chips you've ever had.

Most importantly, in one far corner of the area, a karaoke station has been magically created by Genie. The television is 42 inches, flanked by two 15 inch speakers. Four microphones and stands are available for any party goer to belt their favorites out. To add to the mood, there's even a disco ball above the microphones, hung from the nearest tree!

Don't have a swimsuit? No problem! Urd, Belldandy and probably even Genie will summon up something for you quicker than you can say "sudden public nudity." Be warned, though...each has their own sense of style and may end up dressing your character in something less than dignified.

Unbeknown to any of the guests, a special and invisible barrier has been set into place by Belldandy. This warding field will not allow any Heartless to enter the party, should anyone decide to summon them. Not that they would, though, right? This is a sunny, happy day!

What could go wrong?

OOC Notes: Much like the other large group logs here, this one will work via several small threads that people start in the comments. Everyone is free to jump into someone's thread, provided they don't have a note in their subject line claiming the thread is private (which you're totally allowed to do). Keep in mind that this party was created for characters to develop CR with more people, so don't be afraid to mingle!

From the luxury of his tower Genie watched over the pool below. As lifeguard it was his duty to ensure the safety of everyone in and around the pools environs. He took his job very seriously and would not hesitate to blow his whistle on anyone caught violating the rules of the pool. This ranged from merely running to anyone caught peeing in the pool. Though there had been a sign posted regarding pool rules there were always those who chose to ignore it. Not on his watch though… No. The djinn adjusted his aviators. With the eyes of a hawk not one swimmer could expect to go so far as a single stroke without him watching them – at least after he finished applying his sun block.

The genie squeezed out what he could from the bottle in his hand before rubbing the suntan lotion onto his arms. A white streak could be seen on his nose, likely forgotten at this point. He wore a bright red visor and yellow pair of swim trunks. A large red cross could be seen on his white singlet, hopefully making him notable from a fair distance away if needed. When finished applying his sun block he reached into his cooler and opened a soda. Alright, now not one swimmer could expect to go so far as a single stroke without him noticing.

It had been some time since Timon had last gone swimming, a year or two, at the least. In his time Paixao hadn’t offered the opportunity to him often. In fact, it had never offered it. That was why he had immediately forced Vyers to take him after seeing the announcement over the message board, or at least intended to. For once the demon appeared to agree with him and of all things wanted to go. The meerkat wasn’t quite sure why but was not about to argue. If anything Vyers probably just wanted to look at all the pretty girls in skimpy bathing suits. He rolled his eyes at the thought. He didn’t see what was so interesting about them but if the demon spent more time watching them then him he would surely receive a good talking to, audience or not. The redhead would have never invited the Dark Adonis if he didn’t need his protection. Being seen with the man in public made him look so uncool.

Upon arrival the meerkat didn’t know what to do first. The water was perfect and without so much as a single ripple in it which made it all too tempting to jump into. But then there were the comfortable poolside chairs calling out to him, inviting him to lay back, relax and sunbathe. Of course, this was nothing compared to the spread set up for his complete eating convenience. And this was real food, not one of Vyers’ poor attempts at cooking. His mouth watered at the thought. Oh, he would definitely be eating first.

He turned in the direction of the two food tables and was just about to take the first step toward it before a familiar voice came into his head. ‘You shouldn’t eat and then go swimming or you’re going to get a bellyache’. The meerkat frowned. ‘Never go swimming without a buddy’, ‘Don’t talk to strangers’. Timon groaned at his mother’s warnings. ‘And above all, be careful!’. She really had drilled it into him after all those years.

Well, so much for that idea. Maybe if he started walking toward the pool Vyers would follow. Then he wouldn’t have to ask him to be his ‘buddy’.

Stress and irritation had gotten to Tanaka in the past weeks, built up from too long wondering what exactly he was supposed to be doing around here. He had worked himself into a fit of frustration, second-guessing whether or not anything he was doing was the right thing to do. He had finally had to think very hard about what he would be told if one of his superiors were with him in the city.

At first he thought they'd remind him things like be diligent, be strong, be passionate. Then, the cynical thought crossed through his mind that they'd probably tease him and tell him to take a break, like they often do. Then he realized maybe that would actually be a good idea.

Ouendan were most often caught off guard, anyway. They were never off duty, but they often took opportunity to relax. The party was maybe a sign that he should cool off a bit.

And the young Ouendan had not forgotten his last encounter at the pool. It still made him flush to think of Genie's momentary lapse of fashion sense, so Tanaka had made a point of bringing his own swimsuit this time. There was a cross between feeling awkward, not having so many layers for the first time, and relief; it got hot under that thing, really. A casual observer might have noticed he looked pretty good, too.

The resident Goddess First Class was playing her part of being the hostess and making sure that the refreshments were all stocked up properly; it wasn't all too difficult considering her powers, but she did certainly seem to be enjoying herself at any rate. However, she noticed that the karaoke machine was open, and gave it some thought... she wanted to enjoy herself, too, and it had been a while since she came to paixao before she was able to partake in one of her favorite activities, singing.

Making her way to the microphone, she had hoped that she wasn't out of practice.

Clicking the necessary buttons, a smile was formed as the music began.

She sang. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTuiEbkXJS0)

Just who did that woman think she was, anyway? Saying that he wasn't a man of science... He was every inch a scientist! A mad scientist, even! And what was she? What right did she have to criticize him just because he didn't want to go to a party? But if going to that party would shut her up, then fine. Any "high-powered beings," if there really were any around here, would just be a bonus.

And if all he had to do to show this woman up was attend the party? All the better. He thought he'd read something somewhere about what the party was supposed to be, but who had time to remember things like that? There were more important things to focus on!

Although, now that he had actually arrived at the party, Mao quickly realized that maybe he should have paid just a little more attention to what he had read.

For a moment he just stood there gaping. Then... "A... A pool party?!" he exclaimed, horrified. That woman had tricked him after all! No! Absolutely not!

The young Overlord immediately turned around, getting ready to make a swift retreat. He'd get his revenge later. Like hell he was going to stay here!

It was a great business opportunity to mingle with others who resided her ein Paixao, so she could gather some more information on what she should do with her bar, or so Tifa thought. It was a bit embarrassing showing up in a bikini; the ones they had in the city were quite risque, and she wasn't used to such designs. But she was here for fun, and worse came to worse... she could protect herself from any perverts. Tying her hair back, she reclined on the seat she claimed, resting her legs for a bit from trying to find the place. It certainly did seem like a lively party; perhaps Urd was cut out to be a party planner...

Hades here, he could be a good, cool guy sometimes, see? This was him behaving, and oh! A bit of messing with the minds of people, of course. Could not simply forget about that. And it was funny seeing people squirm, really. Waiting for him to set the whole shindig on aflame!

But they'd be waiting for a long time, because today this Lord of the Dead was taking a day off! ... At least that's how it would appear.

No, no, Hades would not take center stage for this event. Instead, he comes with his own morbid looking pool chair, a cocktail, and one could not forget the most hideous part of all - the pair of deep blue swim trunks, covered in lighter skull and crossbones.

It was good to be a god. He stretches out on his chair, surprisingly near to the pool, looking none-too-worried about it at all. He was a ray of sunshine. Really!

Pool parties were, quite honestly, absolutely the farthest thing from anything Zexion enjoyed. Baring himself some thoroughly, even in only a physical sense, was distasteful in his mind and the physical contact that would no doubt come with it only served to intensify that feeling.

Consequently, it was the perfect place for a moment of subterfuge. No one would expect to see him there. No one would either, or at least not anyone who was recognizable as Zexion, the sixth member of Organization XIII. No, the man anyone passing by would see was a rather unremarkable (if somewhat pale) young man with ill-trimmed red hair.

Nothing out of the ordinary, just another lost soul trapped in a cage of a city.

The last few weeks had been rather interesting, and Hanekoma had been tempted to get more involved, but after much deliberation decided he needed to take a lighter hand in events in this city, in keeping with his responsibilities back home. Just because he'd probably been fired didn't mean that he shouldn't keep trying to do his best while he still could. Who knew, maybe he could make up for his own actions, not that he really expected to.

Still, just because he was avoiding getting directly involved didn't mean he couldn't enjoy some fun in the sun either. After all, when it came to meeting new people, there were few places better than a pool party.

Wearing sandals, swim trunks, sunglasses and a unbuttoned white shirt, the owner of Wild Cat Coffee made his way around to the pool, an easy smile on his face.

Laharl hadn't wanted to come.

Of course, that had never stopped Flonne before, and she saw no reason to let it stop her now. Laharl needed to quit locking himself in his room. She'd done all she could for him in trying to comfort and be there for him, but there came a point where he had to get out of his depressing little corner and at least see the sun (even if the sun in the domes was fake) again.

So she'd dragged him to the pool party. It was the perfect solution!

"Come on, Laharl-san!" she chirped happily, refusing to let go of his wrist as she rather forcefully led him into the festivities. "The water looks so nice, and look, there's balloons and- ooh, karaoke!" she squealed, catching sight of the setup. They'd just have to get up and sing later. "Doesn't it look like fun?"

It took Quina a long time to find the party but it knew that it got there once it spotted the torches, the balloons and the large number of people.

"Party!" it exclaimed, getting excited. Immediately, it ran in, wondering where the food was. There were a few people that it recognised - Urd and Timon from the journal. It could not help but notice how small Timon was...was he really something that one should not eat?

Determined to show that woman up, Mao had taken to lurking in different places of the party, moving to a different part of the pool area every so often to switch things up. The young demon had started in some bushes rather far away from the action at first, but had slowly been edging closer to the pool. He was careful to keep a "safe" distance however. You never knew who could be lurking about.

Mao was currently a few feet away from the edge, scribbling notes about anyone who looked remotely interesting, though by now the notes had devolved into random doodles of said interesting people with a few... modifications thrown in.
