It's a Cool Pool Party! [Completed]

Character(s): Everyone! Come on down~
Content: Urd throws a pool party at Jogo da Crianca for everyone to enjoy.
Setting: Jogo da Crianca pool!
Time: Noon until night.
Warnings: Probably none. Maybe blatant fanservice of all the sexy (and not so sexy) characters.

It's been too long since the citizens of Paixao made use of the fairly impressive pool at the park. Like all of the landscaping and architecture of the city, the pool seemed ancient, almost in its appearance, wide and large and full of clear, glittering water. Equally sparkling trees provided shade all around the perimeter and comfortable outdoor chaises (made more comfortable by extra cushions today) and picnic tables dotted the area through out.

For the event, colorful balloons had been created and now floated peacefully in place as if held by an invisible hand. Crepe ribbons were strung from tree to tree and tiki torches, waiting to be lit once the sky started to darken, held their vigil in strategic points around the pool. Two long tables have been spread with snacks made by Belldandy and Genie, so they're sure to be the most delicious cookie/sandwich/chips you've ever had.

Most importantly, in one far corner of the area, a karaoke station has been magically created by Genie. The television is 42 inches, flanked by two 15 inch speakers. Four microphones and stands are available for any party goer to belt their favorites out. To add to the mood, there's even a disco ball above the microphones, hung from the nearest tree!

Don't have a swimsuit? No problem! Urd, Belldandy and probably even Genie will summon up something for you quicker than you can say "sudden public nudity." Be warned, though...each has their own sense of style and may end up dressing your character in something less than dignified.

Unbeknown to any of the guests, a special and invisible barrier has been set into place by Belldandy. This warding field will not allow any Heartless to enter the party, should anyone decide to summon them. Not that they would, though, right? This is a sunny, happy day!

What could go wrong?

OOC Notes: Much like the other large group logs here, this one will work via several small threads that people start in the comments. Everyone is free to jump into someone's thread, provided they don't have a note in their subject line claiming the thread is private (which you're totally allowed to do). Keep in mind that this party was created for characters to develop CR with more people, so don't be afraid to mingle!

Lenne found her way to the pool rather easily, considering. After the darkness had dissipated, her sense of direction had seemed to improve dramatically from even before. However, she was still surprised to find that she was one of the first to arrive. And the woman that caught her eye first was just about enough to cause her to turn right back around and flee as her self-esteem took a dive.

That must be Urd. But no use assuming, might as well introduce herself. She smiled her most cheerful smile and made her way over to the goddess, hands clasped behind her back to keep from toying with her skirt or any other embarrassing nervous behavior. She didn't have a swimsuit here in Paixao, so she was still in her usual Songstress ensemble, and was beginning to feel very over-dressed.

"Hi there, I'm Lenne. I don't believe we've met before...?"

"That's right! I knew I'd seen you before, but I wasn't aware of your name then. Glad I have a name to put to a face, now," she rambled, glad she managed to say "face" and not "body", like she had been thinking. She hadn't actually told Lenne her name, but she had very little doubt that this was anyone but Urd.

Lenne laughed embarrassedly and was deeply grateful she managed not to blush at Urd's compliment, it was definitely more than she was expecting. "Thank you!" she responded sincerely. She was quite fond of the outfit herself, which was a blessing considering she didn't exactly have much else to wear in Paixao. She had to fight off the urge to twirl and show how the fabric would swirl around her. It was one of her favorite things about the outfit.

Lenne was opening her mouth to remark that she really wasn't looking for romance at this time, but she was struck dumb by the sudden, smoky magic that surrounded her. When the smoke cleared, she looked down at herself, mouth still open, but now in complete surprise. Oh, it looked lovely! And it was just her style...

She allowed herself to be led to the pool where when she gazed down at herself, she couldn't help but turn from side to side to get the full picture. "Oh, I just love it!" she was grinning widely, and toying with the familiar fabric of the sarong. She turned around to face Urd, completely unfazed by her floating. "Thank you, so much!" she beamed at the goddess in gratitude, unsure of what else to say, or even of her own thoughts.

Lenne shook her head, smiling, and risked a graceful twirl, enjoying the feel of the gauzy sarong swirling around her. She stopped after a perfect 360, and grinned at Urd.

"Thank you for the suit, I haven't felt this pretty in long time," she gushed. "Don't let me bother you any further, I'll take a look around," she added, and with a wave and an almost shy wink, she wandered off toward the karaoke machine, or maybe the food... she couldn't wait to see who else was going to turn up.

Zeroing in on the person who was as well endowed as Lulu, Tidus made his way toward Urd considering she was the hostess of the party. Dressed in black and yellow swim trunks, his athletic build showed unashamed as he had a beach ball tucked under his arm. "Hey, thanks for throwing the party!" he grinned. "Have you been here for very long, Miss Urd?"

[identity profile] mystorydammit.livejournal.com 2009-10-06 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hehe, I might be a bit out of practice, but that won't hurt!" He chuckled. At least her attitude was unlike Lulu's. "But yeah, being new and all, this party's a great idea." he quipped, obviously enthusiastic. He didn't have an inkling of a clue that Urd already knew of Yuna, and had certainly hoped that she didn't know about Jecht.

"Whoa, hey's that's cheating!" Tidus whined, once he was able to swim back up for a gasp of air as he laughed. He in turn then splashed a handful of water at the goddess. That was playing dirty! "Let's see how you like it, urd!"

[identity profile] mystorydammit.livejournal.com 2009-10-07 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Well..." May as well show his moves. "I'll show you something you've probably never seen before!" The Jecht shot was hard, after all. Spotting a board on the other other of the pool, Tidus threw it at the board, kicked it when it ricocheted back at him, and finally jumped up into the air, performing a back flip-kick at the ball, perfectly aimed at the previous spot.

Wiping some of his hair out of his eyes, he grinned, looking at Urd. "What'd you think of that?"

[identity profile] mystorydammit.livejournal.com 2009-10-07 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Tidus took a bow, almost blushing, but being modest wasn't something he was good at. Yet another thing he inherited from his father. "Well, they certainly help, but they're not the only thing that'll net you a cup!" he responded, taking in an eyeful of Urd's legs.

[identity profile] mystorydammit.livejournal.com 2009-10-07 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"I've been playing for about ten years." That sounded about right; before he disappeared his old man wouldn't let him do much with a ball since... he thought it was an exercise in futility. Ha, showed him up with that. "But when you play, you play to win! Teamwork doesn't hurt, either!" he grinned once more. He couldn't help it; blitzball was his passion.

[identity profile] mystorydammit.livejournal.com 2009-10-08 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he was practically eighteen. Not that Spira or Zanarkand had any real laws against drinking, but he grinned. "I'm old enough to." He said, since it made sense to him. But ever since his old man disappeared, and his mom went into a fit of depression, he had to do something to keep himself busy. "But everybody has something they're good at! Though you look like you have several of those somethings. I showed you a trick; wanna show me one of yours?"

[identity profile] mystorydammit.livejournal.com 2009-10-09 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
"... wow!" Tidus shielded himself from the splashing, and was rather amazed at Urd's party trick. That was awesome! "You could be an entire blitzball team by yourself!" Sure, it was a bit odd, but hey, this was a strange world and Urd seemed really powerful.

"Sweet little party you've got here," Naja says in way of introducing her presence. "And thankfully it's quieter than some people I know." She chuckles, sweeping nearby.

Even for the party she didn't change her appearance, and her Morgenstern was, as always, clutched in her grasp. This was simply a social outing for her, after all.
