It's a Cool Pool Party! [Completed]

Character(s): Everyone! Come on down~
Content: Urd throws a pool party at Jogo da Crianca for everyone to enjoy.
Setting: Jogo da Crianca pool!
Time: Noon until night.
Warnings: Probably none. Maybe blatant fanservice of all the sexy (and not so sexy) characters.

It's been too long since the citizens of Paixao made use of the fairly impressive pool at the park. Like all of the landscaping and architecture of the city, the pool seemed ancient, almost in its appearance, wide and large and full of clear, glittering water. Equally sparkling trees provided shade all around the perimeter and comfortable outdoor chaises (made more comfortable by extra cushions today) and picnic tables dotted the area through out.

For the event, colorful balloons had been created and now floated peacefully in place as if held by an invisible hand. Crepe ribbons were strung from tree to tree and tiki torches, waiting to be lit once the sky started to darken, held their vigil in strategic points around the pool. Two long tables have been spread with snacks made by Belldandy and Genie, so they're sure to be the most delicious cookie/sandwich/chips you've ever had.

Most importantly, in one far corner of the area, a karaoke station has been magically created by Genie. The television is 42 inches, flanked by two 15 inch speakers. Four microphones and stands are available for any party goer to belt their favorites out. To add to the mood, there's even a disco ball above the microphones, hung from the nearest tree!

Don't have a swimsuit? No problem! Urd, Belldandy and probably even Genie will summon up something for you quicker than you can say "sudden public nudity." Be warned, though...each has their own sense of style and may end up dressing your character in something less than dignified.

Unbeknown to any of the guests, a special and invisible barrier has been set into place by Belldandy. This warding field will not allow any Heartless to enter the party, should anyone decide to summon them. Not that they would, though, right? This is a sunny, happy day!

What could go wrong?

OOC Notes: Much like the other large group logs here, this one will work via several small threads that people start in the comments. Everyone is free to jump into someone's thread, provided they don't have a note in their subject line claiming the thread is private (which you're totally allowed to do). Keep in mind that this party was created for characters to develop CR with more people, so don't be afraid to mingle!

Of course that was what he was saying. What wasn't clear about that? Well, at least the blue guy got what he was talking about now. Maybe now he's stop going on about respect and get him his glasses.

Or not.

Mao was silent for a moment, his anger needing time to take a detour around his bewilderment. "Wh-where did you even get that from?! That's not what I meant!" he finally snapped. "Respect from other people is one thing, giving it's another. That's a delinquent act."

“Exactly!” the djinn agreed, at this point using Mao's head as an arm rest. “And by no means do I intend to perform such a delinquent act. The prison scene just ain’t for me, you know what I’m saying, Shorty? Stripes are so last fall. Now it’s all about skinny jeans and bright coloured shirts. Not only that, but it was my understanding that demons don’t help others. Admittedly, it does pass as a strange custom but I have every intention in respecting your ways and behaving accordingly. After all, this could be fun. Now hand over your lunch money!”

"Y-You...!" He couldn't believe this! Mao let out a long, frustrated yell. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Is everyone in this place INSANE?!" The young demon threw his arms up. "Forget it! I'll manage on my own!" Even if everything was blurry, it at least gave him something to go by. He'd just make it back to his lab and see if he could find something he could use for the time being.

Then he could come back, drain the pool, and grab his glasses from the bottom.

Well! This demon was turning out to be quite the spoil sport, wasn’t it? Had he not been the one to suggest using proper demon manners in the first place? Just because things had not turned out according to his plan, that was no reason to turn sour. Why, Genie had been nothing but polite! At least, he thought he was. He frowned and tsked at the boy once again.

“You’re not a very nice demon, are you?” he asked. “Or rather, you’re not a very bad demon. I understand all the flattery might be getting to your head but there’s no need to get upset… Unless that’s another demon custom, is it? Shouting at others as another form of flattery?”

[identity profile] madsciencemaou.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
Mao had already begun to walk away by that time, but at Genie's question, he whipped back around. "It's not flattery at all!" he yelled back. Mao stood there for a moment, fuming, before he finally managed to calm himself down enough to continue. "Those were all just a bunch of insults. Just... do whatever you normally do!"

He sighed heavily. "I can't believe I even have to explain this crap."

[identity profile] ttlynotblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-03 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
Do what he normally did? Why? It was not as though the demon would respect him in return. Manners were something demons never used anyway, were they not? If Mao would not use them, and he certainly hadn’t, neither would he. It was his job to teach this boy a lesson and if this was the only way to do so, so be it. Besides, this method was far more fun.

“One must give in order to receive.” He announced. “Treat others the way you would like to be treated and many rewards will come your way.” Genie held up the young demons glasses. “Such as these.”

[identity profile] madsciencemaou.livejournal.com 2009-12-03 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
What was that he was holding up? Mao couldn't quite make it out. The demon squinted, able to just barely make out the blurry shape in Genie's hand. Were those...? Why that...!

Mao's eyes went wide and he gaped for a moment as he processed this new information. "How did you--?! When did you--?! Grah... forget it! I don't need your help!"

[identity profile] ttlynotblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-06 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
“Maybe not but you certainly need the help of these. Without them, you just might walk right into the pool again. Then you’d be twice as humiliated, all in the same day.” He waved Mao’s glasses, now just within the demons reach. There were other ways of getting through to him than this and leaving the little demon blind as a bat? That was simply not his style. He grinned at Mao. “Unless, of course, you do want me to give you mouth to mouth...”

[identity profile] madsciencemaou.livejournal.com 2009-12-14 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Damn it! He had a point. And it wasn't like he could just steal them back. He could try, but without being able to see... Ugh, this was why he wanted to stay away from this pool party to begin with. he should have known nothing good could come of it. He should have known as soon as that goddess had started acting weird.

Mao shuddered as Genie uttered those last horrible words and seethed a moment longer. "Fine," he spat, crossing his arms and glaring up at the djinn. "What do you want me to do. And don't tell me it's that 'being polite' thing. I won't do it!"

[identity profile] ttlynotblue.livejournal.com 2009-12-27 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Genie looked down at Mao suspiciously for a moment, unsure whether or not this was some sort of trick. However, a smiled quickly returned to his face when he realized the boy truly had given up. Although, he couldn’t help but get the feeling that it was because of frustration, not understanding. Ah, well. You couldn’t win them all. Besides, there was still plenty of time to teach young Mao the proper etiquette he had pressed on him for so long. If he couldn’t get the demon to be polite though, what could he have him do for him?

“Well,” the genie began thoughtfully. “You can either thank me for returning your glasses or… Sing me a song!”
