Rain and Lightning and Sin [active; open]
Character(s): Sin and anyone who wants in on the fight
Content: Boss fight! In the rain!
Setting: L7
Time: early evening, while it's still raining
Warnings: Destruction, mayhem, and violence. And a hole in the domes.
In the past few weeks, the city had proven itself up to the task of eliminating the lesser Sinspawn, but it was time to show them the real power of Sin. It was time to start bringing death to this world and those who inhabited it. Whether they belonged here was of no importance. They suffered here just as they would suffer wherever they had come from; where they were released from their suffering was of no real importance. All he needed to do was attract a bit of attention.
Which Sin itself was admittedly doing, by virtue of being a large electricity based creature, but the rumbling of thunder above the domes had given him an idea. After all, Sin was providing a far amount of destruction already, and surely no one would mind if he caused just a little bit more. And it was a matter of little effort to cast a simple Flare at the dome overhead, shattering a fair amount of it to pieces. With luck the explosion would serve as a way to get people to head this direction and in the meantime Sin could terrorize and kill the general populace.
[Note: Since giant boss fight is likely to be giant, it'll probably be best to split this up into a bunch of different threads. Thread hopping is, of course, not only okay but encouraged, so hop in and have fun!]

One lone voice came ringing out into the symphonic chaos, against the sound of the raining debris from the monstrous creature's firey spell. The voice was angry, determined, and seemed to call challenge the behemoth all on its own.
But where it did come from...?
All around, nothing but buildings and the wreckage of what were buildings as well. Smashed streets, littered with shattered stone and the splintered remains of the psuedo-plant life that had been used to decorate the eerily 'normal' landscape of Paixao. There was no sign of anyone, certainly no one large enough to challenge the awesome power of the creature now terrorizing the city.
"Now I'm gonna kick your ass, you giant fucking bastard!"
There it was again, that same tiny voice, like a bell being proudly knelled inthe midst of battle. Sin probably didn't even notice it, though, in which case, this would be Sin's mistake. It would have no one to blame but itself for what came next.
A rumbling sounded, an addition to the already panicked scene in which everything in Sin's path was being brought down to rubble. Suddenly, there came a dull whooshing sound, the same sort of sound as a solid object being thrown, with the wind whistling behind it.
It wasn't a rock. It wasn't a pile of rocks.
It was an entire building, and now, it was sailing straight towards Sin's left side.
Monkey D. Luffy stood at its source, snarling angrily at its target. Even then, this wasn't enough; the fury-driven pirate came running forward aafter it, his arms thrusting and his legs pumping madly. There was a great deal of distance to close between them, but once he was in range, Luffy was going to demonstrate that hurling Paixao's city-scape was the least of what he could do!

It wasn't difficult to find the gigantic monster, not at all. It looked like a dark shadow in the distance, through the misty clouds of rain (how did it rain inside, anyway? This placed was stupid). Hamel stood underneath a large gazebo in what looked like a little square not far from the monster's looming shadow. That would keep him out of the rain long enough to do something.
First, he set out a handwritten sign that read "WANTED: HERO- INQUIRE WITHIN". He hoisted the violin over his shoulder and put the bow to it, beginning to play J.S. Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsCFHBYp-eA&feature=related) This was a melody to pump up a warrior as he or she plunged into the dark forces of the world to battle them. That monster was probably too big for the music to work on him- he needed to find a proper marionette. A strong one.
ooc: So basically, Hamel's music works like magical steroids for the one he targets. If you volunteer to team up with him, he'll have your character flying through the air and hitting a hundred times harder than they normally would.

He had to admit, he was pretty impressed. It was pretty big, and destroying a hell of a lot of the city. After dealing with that idiot, this was going to be enjoyable. Ha, too bad Etna had to go and disappear, she might have enjoyed this too. Oh well, this was a good time to finally show off, but first...
Laharl turned a moment to Flonne. "Stay back and keep out of trouble, Flonne," he ordered her, sternly. He didn't want anything else to happen to her. He moved to leave but then paused, glancing back again, his expression slightly softer, "But... yell if you need me, right?"
That said, Laharl took off, leaping to the lower roof of a building then an even higher roof, till he found the upperest perch he could, but still making sure to keep within Flonne's magic's reach.
He didn't waste any time. Raising his arms above his head, he let the floodgate go, his dark power forming above him and splitting into a multitude of fiery orbs above him. A wicked grin formed on Laharl's lips. It felt good to let out this much power. "Oi! Monster!" he yelled, astoundingly loud for one so small.
"OVERLORD'S WRATH!" he cried out, as he motioned with his arms to send the floating orbs all on a convening destination of the creature. Even if the explosive attack didn't hit, he figured he'd have it's full attention now.

[Closed Thread]
It was a wonderful opportunity that was too good to pass up. However, decisions would have to be made quickly.
Sensing another nearby, the dark figure turned, glancing to them in the barest of greetings. "Convenient, isn't it?"

The first thing he noticed was the building flying through the air, and immediately Braska came to stop. Obviously, this was where the fighting was going on, and he was late.
There were already quite of people here, he could see, and they were fighting with all their might. He couldn't help but smile. All these people together, fighting for one purpose... It didn't matter what their motives were, or whether or not they would normally fight alongside one another, they fought as one.
Something he needed to get to.
He immediately cast NulShock on himself before casting the barrier on the other groups currently fighting. It only allowed them one free hit each, but hopefully that one hit would protect them enough.

Last but not least, Sephiroth himself leapt from the jagged edge of the shattered dome, a black and silver comet around which a glowing nimbus of colored light danced. Impossibly fast, impossibly airborne, he all but flew toward Sin's hulking body, with Masamune flashing in an arc that would have beheaded a titan with ease.

That didn't mean he was going to just stay out of it of course. After all, if he missed an apocalyptic battle, he'd have to turn in his hero license. Rather, he had come up with a strategy that, if it worked, would allow him to bypass the beast, which looked pretty unstoppable, and deliver the spell directly to the man within. Harry's Spell Delivers. We'll get your spell to you in 30 minutes or less, or your next curse is free.
The first step had been to track down one of the creatures spawn he had heard about over the internet. Turned out that first step had been a dozy. Apparently Sinspawn were big ugly creatures with far more tentacles than should be allowed. Luckily this one wasn't that bright, and Harry had gotten the drop on it, blasting off its legs with fire and managing to trick it into running full force into the dome's wall, rendering itself unconscious. Of course, it had put up a serious fight after that, as the deep cuts on his face and chest attested to. How it had cut him with tentacles he didn't want to know...
Now Harry rose to his feet, having drawn and sealed a large circle around the creature, and began chanting a spell in broken Latin, vaguely to the tune of "A Monster Mash," shouting to be heard over the rain. Digging deep, he drew up a massive amount of power within himself, and sent it into the circle, whipping it up into a fury, drawing on the chaos of emotions in the city, and mixing it into the creatures very essence.
Then, when it was ready, Harry stepped forward, breaking the circle, slamming one end of his staff into the sinspawn, and pointing the other end at the massive creature. The power crackled around him for a moment, making the hair on the back of his neck stand up, and with a snarl he shouted, “And here’s the pitch!” Unleashing the energy it traveled along the innate mystical path that linked all parents to their children. With a bit of luck, Harry’s power might be able to make it through and hit the man inside. Harry wouldn’t kill him with magic, even if he had been capable of doing so, since that would likely do more harm than good, but he could do attack the mans mind, rendering him unconscious, or at least stunning him for a while, buy the others some time. He had also thrown in a curse that would hopefully seal away a small portion of Sin’s strength, mostly just to be a dick.
Of course, the side effect was now Harry had used up most of his energy. He might have one good attack left in him, but he wasn’t going to be slinging spells left and right for a while. Leaning on his staff, Harry took a deep breath and waited to see if his efforts had achieved anything.

The creature in the sky she'd soon pinpointed as the cause, but it was far too much for her to take on herself. Now things were different. It seemed a full out attack had begun. For now she hung back, waiting for an opportunity which she could actually be of some assistance. Battling the monster head on seemed still out of her strength to do so.
((ooc: Lame post for activity is lame. Will jump into something else in here later. Possibly sneaking into sin later to help or something. :|b))
Hole Making \o/
They needed to get inside, huh? Well then. With a giant hole in the roof, it didn't take but a moment for Laharl to decide what he was going to do.
His most powerful, devastating attack was in order. While he couldn't summon a city-destroying sized meteor, since the point of this was to not have the whole city brought down on top of them by the damn thing, he could definitely smash a pretty good sized one into the monster that would be perfect for busting a hole into it.
Laharl tucked his journal away and quickly looked to Flonne. "Get back, and find somewhere safe, Flonne," he called to her.
Then he headed up. To rooftops then up onto the outside top of the dome above, pausing to glance down at the city below for a moment from the edge, watching the battle below. With the likes of Sephiroth and others down there keeping it distracted, hopefully it wouldn't realize what was happening till it was too late.
Then again, who could guess anyone would summon and slam a meteor into it?
Laharl was excited. He hadn't been in a fight to use this in some time, and certainly hadn't had a chance here. He hoped everyone was watching. Perhaps that's partially why he was willing to do this. It was a chance to show off. A chance to prove why he was to be feared.
Turning his gaze upwards for a moment, he felt the rain washing down his face. Huh. How long had it been raining? Whatever. Grinning widely he concentrated on his power, gathering the energy and then, with a cry, raising his arm to the sky, allowing the energy to raise up, forming a kind of glowing magical glyph very high above in the cloudy sky. The glyph grew in size and seemed to open up as a smoldering, firey rock began to appear.
The meteor was large. Almost a quarter of sin's size.
The Overlord wasted no time. As soon as it fully appeared, he leaped incredibly high up from the top of the domes up and landed squarely on the slowly falling rock. From that point it started to fall at a tremendous rate, building extreme speed in a mere second as if demon on top of it was forcing it's sudden descent; perhaps he was. Somehow Laharl managed to still fold his arms to his chest, scarf and hair whipping about as it was blown upwards, and let out his arrogant laugh as it fell, heading to slam into Sin.
((OOC: OKAY. So. I'm kinda combining the anime promo (obviously not THAT big though 8D) and the game. Everyone keep threading above till you feel you're ready to have this happen? You can comment then about it above or people can just comment off here of them noticing? Then I guess can try to arrange for a group to head into the hole or. Something. IDK. I wasn't going to involve Laharl in that part since he's doing this. XD Let me know of changes/edits I need to make or whatever, cause I can totally do that. I just... had this in my head and wanted to get it down while it was there.))

Inside Sin
Anything more than that was obscured by the fog that swirled around and through wherever it was they were. Not enough to make it impossible to see anything, but enough so that visibility was severely limited.
And somewhere in among whatever lurked inside the beast was the man they sought. The only question was where.
