Rain and Lightning and Sin [active; open]
Character(s): Sin and anyone who wants in on the fight
Content: Boss fight! In the rain!
Setting: L7
Time: early evening, while it's still raining
Warnings: Destruction, mayhem, and violence. And a hole in the domes.
In the past few weeks, the city had proven itself up to the task of eliminating the lesser Sinspawn, but it was time to show them the real power of Sin. It was time to start bringing death to this world and those who inhabited it. Whether they belonged here was of no importance. They suffered here just as they would suffer wherever they had come from; where they were released from their suffering was of no real importance. All he needed to do was attract a bit of attention.
Which Sin itself was admittedly doing, by virtue of being a large electricity based creature, but the rumbling of thunder above the domes had given him an idea. After all, Sin was providing a far amount of destruction already, and surely no one would mind if he caused just a little bit more. And it was a matter of little effort to cast a simple Flare at the dome overhead, shattering a fair amount of it to pieces. With luck the explosion would serve as a way to get people to head this direction and in the meantime Sin could terrorize and kill the general populace.
[Note: Since giant boss fight is likely to be giant, it'll probably be best to split this up into a bunch of different threads. Thread hopping is, of course, not only okay but encouraged, so hop in and have fun!]

They were planning something, no doubt about it.

There was only a few seconds pause as Hamel lifted the bow to the strings again and began playing a rapid melody. "Vivaldi's 2nd Concerto 'Summer', Movement 3- 'Presto'! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaSw3NXCLl8) The great composer Antonio Vivaldi harnessed the energy and power of a summer thunderstorm in this piece-- nature's power to destroy and conquer any foe! This's a melody that will fill your bodies with the destructive force of a typhoon!"

Wait.
Whoa. Whoa.
This wasn't the first time Sonic had experienced sheer power - seven Chaos Emeralds in one place was nothing to sneeze at. This wasn't Chaos energy, though - it was wilder, freer than anything the Emeralds could ever do.
Sonic's eyes snapped open, and he found himself floating several inches above the cobbled road. His color hadn't changed, but it still felt like he'd gone Super - with one big difference. Super had a time limit. Something in this music, however, made him feel like he could go on forever.
Maybe he hadn't given the violin guy enough credit. This was awesome.
Without waiting for Knuckles, he took off, flying fast and hard at the monster. "Hey ugly!" he called, caught up in the thrill of flight and the excitement of a prospective battle on his hands. "Incoming!"

It somehow reminded him of the Emeralds' power, but that line of thought only reminded him of how he was separated from his duty (his home), so he grit his teeth and opened his eyes, his dreadlocks flaring around him. He grinned fiercely and flew towards the monster, almost as fast as Sonic in his own eagerness as he dove towards the creature, aiming a hard punch at its shell.
"Bring it, punk!"

And only seconds thereafter, another crackle of electricity coursed across its body. There would be no protection from NulShock this time.

This was a powerful melody... they would need a powerful melody to take out something that size. Hamel could last all day if he needed to. Hopefully the little animal things could hold out that long.

Evidently he wasn't far enough away, however, since the second bolt of electricity arced across the gap and zapped him - aw man, not this again! Evidently just feeling like he'd gone Super didn't mean he got Super's invincibility along with it. He shook it off much faster than he had Larxene's shock - hey, there was something to this music after all - and grinned. This was gonna be tougher than he thought it'd be. Awesome.
"You're a pretty tough guy, huh?" The taunting was more for his benefit than the monster's as he pulled out his power ring, tapping into its energy as well and curling into a spiny ball, preparing for a homing attack. "Take this!" And he was off, rocketing towards the monster.

Sonic had a ring? It figured. It almost made Knuckles with he had an Emerald with him, but for the fact that he preferred keeping them safe (at least, the Master Emerald). Knuckles could still, however, follow suit, curling into a ball and shooting towards the monster.

Not precisely the best thing in the world to go barreling into.

"Shit!" he yelled- and as he reached the end of the measure, he began to improvise. Halting the melody, he played one long, vibrating note-- the power of the music jerked the marionettes back from their charge and raised an impromptu shield around them. That would hopefully be enough to keep them from getting fried.

Evidently the musician had different plans, as one long note vibrated in Sonic's ears and through his body, jerking him backwards, snapping him forcefully out of his spin and causing his ring to fly out of his hand.
"Oh m-"
He threw a hand out wildly, managing by sheer blind luck to snag the ring on one finger. He was about to turn and yell at the music guy to watch what th' heck he was doin' when the storm howled around him. Clenching the ring in his fist, he quickly curled into a ball again, waiting for the worst of the storm to hit-
- and waiting. And waiting some more. When he finally chanced a peek (a full two seconds later - for Sonic, that was being patient), he could see the storm full blast around him, but somehow it wasn't hitting him. Something had saved his butt twice today, and he couldn't say he wasn't grateful.
But he had other things to take care of, especially if he couldn't do anything with the storm around. "Knuckles!" he called, not even sure he'd be heard over the storm. "Buddy! Y'alright?"
no subject
He made a sudden, choked noise as he felt himself be jerked back, unfurling from the spiny ball he had curled into. What the heck was that? And then Knuckles felt the music strike another chord within him, and felt a mixture of vague gratitude and not-so-vague annoyance. What was he, a puppet?
He shook the annoyance away, however, when he heard his friend call out to hi. "Yeah, Sonic! You?" he yelled back, giving the hedgehog a thumbs up with a smile, even as a frown furrowed his brow. How were they going to hurt this thing when they couldn't even touch it?

As for the storm that had suddenly blown up, they would find that it was hardly going to last forever. While Sin could and did play with the elements that made it, a magic-born storm was not going to last as long as one that had occurred more naturally.
But even with the winds quieting once again there was still the problem of how exactly to hurt what amounted to an electrified suit of living armor. For now though, Seymour would simply let them come to their own decisions and not bother them. Hopefully the brief respite would come as something of a comfort and if it didn't he didn't care.

There was a narrow alleyway up ahead-- Hamel got a running start and with an abnormally good jump, bounded up between the two walls and landed on the rooftop, still playing.
