Rain and Lightning and Sin [active; open]

Character(s): Sin and anyone who wants in on the fight
Content: Boss fight! In the rain!
Setting: L7
Time: early evening, while it's still raining
Warnings: Destruction, mayhem, and violence. And a hole in the domes.

In the past few weeks, the city had proven itself up to the task of eliminating the lesser Sinspawn, but it was time to show them the real power of Sin. It was time to start bringing death to this world and those who inhabited it. Whether they belonged here was of no importance. They suffered here just as they would suffer wherever they had come from; where they were released from their suffering was of no real importance. All he needed to do was attract a bit of attention.

Which Sin itself was admittedly doing, by virtue of being a large electricity based creature, but the rumbling of thunder above the domes had given him an idea. After all, Sin was providing a far amount of destruction already, and surely no one would mind if he caused just a little bit more. And it was a matter of little effort to cast a simple Flare at the dome overhead, shattering a fair amount of it to pieces. With luck the explosion would serve as a way to get people to head this direction and in the meantime Sin could terrorize and kill the general populace.

[Note: Since giant boss fight is likely to be giant, it'll probably be best to split this up into a bunch of different threads. Thread hopping is, of course, not only okay but encouraged, so hop in and have fun!]

Flonne knew Laharl had had his eye on taking down this monster for a good while now, and it was nice to...well, to get back to normal. Giant monsters were something you'd find in the Netherworld - they didn't mess with your head or make you fight against your friends or anything like that. They just roared a lot and caused some damage and...well, if they were a little smaller and laughed a lot, they'd be Laharl.

Either way, it was good to be doing something both of them knew well. "Okay!" she gave a salute, then smiled as Laharl's voice softened. "Don't worry about me, Laharl-san. I'll be fine." She watched as he leapt away, moving to keep out of the range of the monster's attacks but still keep Laharl within range of her magic. She couldn't help but smile at the Overlord's Wrath - when did he not start with that move?

It took everything she had not to cry out a warning when the bolt of lightening appeared. He'd be fine, she told herself. It was Laharl. He'd be fine.

The counterattack by Sin couldn't have been more obvious to the Overlord. He simply lept up high into the air, as the lightning struck his previous location, dropping down to land back on the cobblestone street.

"Tch."

His Overlord's Wrath had barely even scratched it, although, admittedly he hadn't put not nearly as much strength into it as he could have. It had been a feeling out shot, and it seemed he was going to need to dish up everything he had. He glanced over his shoulder to keep an eye on Flonne's location, as his scarf came to life and he pulled out his sword.

This was going to be a hell of a fight. Laharl couldn't have been happier, just how to take this thing down? He didn't even want to think how much HP it had. Well, for now he'd just toss what he could at it he figured.

So with another amazingly high leap, Laharl just brought his sword up high above him, energy crackling around the blade as he floated mid-air and with a cry swept it down, a huge wave of green energy slamming towards the monster.

Flonne had to admit she was relieved when the lightening missed Laharl. She moved with him as he jumped, being careful to keep him in range of her magic and to keep the monster out of it. Her range was pretty long, and if she couldn't hit the monster then it stood to her reasoning that it couldn't hit her either.

That didn't mean she wasn't going to do her part, however. Ignorant of the NulShock spell and figuring it'd be better to prepare for another attack than try to do damage control if one hit, she concentrated and cast a shield of her own on Laharl. That should last him for a hit or two at least, and she could continue to cast it if need be.

He'd noticed a spell cast over him that wasn't any spell of Flonne's. He wasn't sure who exactly did it, but it seemed to be some kind of support spell, either way.

Laharl's dimension slash, he realized, he'd still held back too much. He was trying to not bring down more of the domes down on top of them than what already was coming down. That and it seemed like this thing had some thick natural armor or something. Maybe it has some shielding spell up?

That thought hit him as he'd noticed another spell cast over him. This one was unmistakenable. Flonne. Good, she was okay down there and casting magic.

Still semi-mid air made dodging the bolt difficult. What did hit was largly reduced by Flonne's shielding spell, the rest seemingly absorbed by whatever the heck that other spell had been. Not that he couldn't have taken the strike. Laharl could take one hell of a beating really, but he certainly didn't mind the whole not actually getting hit thing.

Dropping back to the ground, Laharl frowned to himself. Maybe there was something more to this. He had no idea what the creature's weakness was. Didn't someone know what this thing was?

Having a thought, he dropped back towards Flonne, meanwhile fishing out his journal. Sure, he could whittle this creature down eventually, but if it had a weakness it could make this a hell of a lot faster. He just had to find out what it was. Someone knew what it was, didn't they? Maybe they'd know it's weakness too.

Laharl began typing up a message.

Without warning, a small figure dropped out of the far distance at a dizzying speed, so quickly that all that could be seen was a faintly red blur before it slammed violently into the surface of a downed and crumbled building. Pebbles and debris were kicked up from the impact surface, now a completely shattered section of stone that had fallen entirely to pieces from the hard shot that had been delivered upon it.

Out of the rubble, suddenly, a hand shot out, one that grasped for a solid surface, took hold, and began to pull. A head, another arm, and a battered body followed shortly, as Luffy emerged from the exploded stone with a gasp for air. "AHH-haaaa, that was rough..." he exclaimed, dusting himself off as he stood up from the mess he had unwillingly created. He paused for a moment and stared off at Sin, now that he was a lot further away than before. "That was pretty surprising. I didn't think that threw me so far."

Despite the impact, Luffy didn't seem hurt at all. He was still standing tall, and only boasted a few tiny scuffed marks across parts of his strong body.

"Oi, blue-hair!" he called out to Laharl. "Were you the one sending those weird attacks over at it? I was able to knock it back, but I don't think I'm really hurting it at all." Looking rather frustrated, Luffy frowned deeply. "Do you maybe know how we can beat it?"

Laharl blinked up from the journal for a moment as he was addressed. He looked to Luffy for a moment before turning his eyes back to it, still writing something.

"Yeah... From the inside," he replied, somewhat distracted since he was reading and writing things onto the journal, before finally he snapped it closed, looking like he was about to move, but paused to glance back at Luffy.

"Just be ready, you'll see when to head inside."

With that, Laharl took off heading to find Flonne before he would make his attack.
