time to have some fun [Open]

Character(s): Everyone who wants to be!
Content: An epic game of tag
Setting: The park
Time: Forward dated to Week 29

Xion waited eagerly at the park with Hope. The post on the message board got a lot of replies, even by people she didn't know. In some ways, she was a little nervous... but mostly excited. This was new, and different, and she couldn't wait to see how playing a game actually went.

[ooc: Ok, so this is mostly a free-for-all, but there are a few rules. One, first post will be a ~mingle~ thread. If you want to talk to someone, do so there! (It might be helpful to note if it's a private conversation, or an open one).

Second, for every new person that is 'it,' we'll start a new tag thread. So, say Hope tags Xion- we'll move from the previous thread and Xion would start a new one. Make sense? There's not really a posting order going, just tag (haha) when your character is being chased, or when you feel like it, or whatever.

Third, action tags are allowed! They are not required, but if it's easier then go ahead.

If you show up late, don't worry about it! It's tag. Seriously, join and leave whenever you want.]

Hope stood in the park next to Xion, grinning with excitement. It had been a few days since Xion posted on the message board, and they'd all decided to wait a few days before getting everyone together. A lot of people had said they'd show up, and Hope couldn't wait to meet everyone.

He blinked for a second, then started picking up a bunch of twigs and sticks, making sure they were all the same length, and then one that was shorter.

Xion wouldn't be the only one feeling both a little nervous and excited. Well, Nana was feeling mostly excited. This was supposed to be fun--with other people! Would she make more friends in this way? Were there other "games" she could learn about afterward? Really, she had no idea what was going to happen, but whatever it was, it couldn't mean anything bad was going to happen.

Kakyuu didn't seem to mind at all once Nana told her about this. Through her voice, to Nana it seemed as if she were encouraging it. So, that had to mean this was okay, right?

Nana kept the directions and Xion's appearance firmly in mind as she looked around for the landmarks and what colors they were. It was quite a distance, but she seemed to have found the park's entrance. That other person, with the lighter colored hair--Hope? What was he doing?

Her innocent curiosity could only draw her closer to the two.

Even though the kids who were arranging the game of tag on the message board seemed to want Hercules to come, he still couldn't help but be nervous. Sure, the other boy had said he could cast a spell to make sure no one was hurt, but Herc wasn't even sure a spell like that existed, and even if it did, how could it work?

But Herc was gonna give this a try anyway, since he never really got to play tag, or any games back home. He walked up behind the grey-haired boy and tapped him on the shoulder. "Um, this was where we're meeting for tag, right?"

The Eleventh Doctor came strolling up to the park, hands in his pockets as he whistled. This time, it was a song of the Ood - boy, did they know how to sing. He really should go back and visit sometime and double-check to make sure there wasn't anything else anachronistic about their planet's development - but then, it had only been a few weeks. Anyway, he couldn't exactly escape this place just yet, so it was no good thinking about it.

"Hello!" he called cheerfully once he reached the two. "This is where everyone's gathered to play tag, isn't it? I'm the Doctor. You can call me the Tag... no, wait, don't. I was about to make up something awful. Just call me the Doctor." A good game a tag was just what he needed to get his blood pumping and his head cleared up a bit.

It didn't take long for NiGHTS to find the park, with her speed. It had been far too long since she'd just had a bit of fun (other than messing with Hook, that is; that was always fun) without worrying about anything else - and really, worrying wasn't her style. It got in the way of more important things, like flying about and possibly slacking off. The Nightmaren, noting the position of the children, decided to hover only slightly above the ground and waved. "Hi, there!" she chirped. "My name is NiGHTS! I came to play with you all. Don't worry, I'll make sure to stay close to the ground." She needed a good challenge, anyway - and besides, flying higher when everyone else was obviously land-bound was cheating, and wouldn't make the game any fun, anyway.

So Kanaria still had a hard time navigating this city, but she was getting better. And it could help that she had a bird's eye view from her box while flying, so when she flew over the park, she remembered the surroundings where everyone was gathered. Kanaria landed a ways away, on the fringe of the park to hide her box away some place safe before walking towards the group.

It would be cheating to use her box..she wasn't Suisei-Seki, afterall! So when she came close to the group, she hid in the bushes close to a chestnut-haired boy for a while, looking around to see who all had showed up so far. How did they interact, how long had they all been here? She would find out before joining!! The perfect disguise if she was caught!!

Good thing she planned ahead, cause she couldn't hide in the shadows for long, because when she tried to ease forwards, she tripped over a root and came tumbling out like a ball of green, yellow and orange, bumping against Hercules' calf with a rattle of porcelain upon coming to a stop.

Stares up at him blankly, frozen for now.

Naminé wasn't really used to the whole playing games thing. Sure, she'd seen some in Sora's memories, with Riku and Kairi, but she'd never actually played herself. She wasn't entirely sure why she actually came down there. Maybe it was because she was curious and considered Xion a friend. Or maybe it was because Xion had seemed so happy at the idea that Naminé would be there.

Whatever the case was, there the blonde was, walking up slowly and lingering at the edge of the crowd.

Unlike most everyone else there, Lightning wasn't there to play. She was in no way going to play. That was Serah's thing, not hers. She was just there for guard duty. If anyone wanted to try breaking things up, they'd have to go through her first.

So, she settled into the outskirts, leaning against a wall with her arms crossed over her chest, watching everything that was going on.

MINGLE THREAD

Sora ran to the park, Roxas and Ventus in tow. He wasn't gonna let any bad moods ruin this day. All the kids stuck in Paixao needed something carefree like this, Roxas included. Besides, Xion and Namine were gonna be there, they would be disappointed if Roxas didn't show up.

Ven, for his part, couldn't remember ever having played tag before. He's sure he knows what it is, though, and what the rules are...so if he ever had, he thinks, it must have been back when he was a little kid.

There's no point in thinking about that, he knows. He can't remember anything about his life before coming to Master Eraqus...not very well, anyway. But it didn't bother him - that's not what this was about, anyway.

The point of today was to have fun, and to find a way to cheer Roxas up! So Ven gladly let himself be dragged along by Sora, smiling the whole way there.

"So..." he asked. "How many people do you guys think are going to be there?"

[identity profile] oath-ofoblivion.livejournal.com 2011-01-17 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Sora, slow down!" Roxas had lost count of how many times he'd had to yell that, especially after literally getting dragged off the couch by his Other. Sora had grabbed his wrist after that conversation with Timon on the journals and yanked him off the couch, and the next thing he knew the three of them were all running out the door and down the stairs.

"I don't know. There were a lot of people who replied to Xion, so I guess that means most of them will show up, right?

Sora had no intention of slowing down, especially given how far away from the park they were. Hopefully he wouldn't dislocate Roxas's and Ven's shoulders in their mad dash to the park.

"But we're almost there, Roxas!" Sora replied, then he laughed cheerfully.

[identity profile] needsadult.livejournal.com 2011-01-17 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
Thankfully, Ven was just as fast - and energetic - as Sora, and had no problem keeping up the pace. Provided all went as normal, his shoulders would be just fine.

"I don't think you're going to convince him, Roxas." he said, laughing a little along with Sora. "Looks like we're just going to have to keep up!"

[identity profile] oath-ofoblivion.livejournal.com 2011-01-17 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Roxas didn't exactly have a problem keeping up with Sora's feet as much as he did with Sora's enthusiasm. He just couldn't get why his Other was so excited about this. What was so special about a game?

At least Xion would be there. And Axel, too. He hadn't had a chance to talk to either of them for a long time...and he felt like he really needed to. It would be good to have the three of them in the same place, too.

That final thought brought a smile to the Nobody's face, and he grinned back over at Ven. "Keep up? Why don't we just beat him there?"

Roxas took off out ahead of Sora and Ven, his feet carrying him faster than he thought they could. There were a lot of things he'd never tried to do since he lost his memories, and running was one of them. And it seemed to be one of them that he was really good at.

It took awhile for the Eleventh Doctor to notice someone he vaguely recognized, and Lightning was the one who stood out. He walked up to the woman immediately, a big grin on his face. "Have to say," he told her, "that from the time we spoke, I hadn't quite pegged you as a 'tag' sort of person."

Oh, a drifter. Well, if nothing else, NiGHTS was good at drawing people in. She gave a friendly sort of wave in Naminé's direction and floated over, smiling. "Well, hello, there," she greeted, noticing the girl's shyness and figuring it would be best to speak first. "My name is NiGHTS. What's yours?"

Kairi had seen message board talking about playing tag. But she had failed to reply. Oh, she was still going, but she first had to make sure someone else came along. Now that she knew Sora was going, Kairi had to go find Riku. There was no way she was letting him miss out on this. No matter what he said.

So here she was, knocking on his door and waiting for him to open it up. The second he did, she grabbed the front of his shirt, "Come on, we're going somewhere."

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Riku had a lazy morning. Spira had taken a lot out of him, and with no new activity from the Organization, he decided to take it easy for once. He'd gotten up late morning, gotten dressed, ate part of a leftover sandwich, then went to the couch and flopped onto it. When he heard a knock, he lifted his head from under the back cushion he'd pulled over himself and grumbled. He scuffed his way over to the door, slipping some shoes on and running his fingers briefly through his hair. Riku then slowly opened the door with a yawn.

He didn't expect for a petit girl he knew to just grab him and haul him away. Though it certainly woke him up.

"Kairi!" He looked a little annoyed. "What's the big deal?" Still, he went with her. The boys learned long ago that whenever Kairi was on a mission, it was best to just go along with it at least at first.

[identity profile] heartstoblend.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
"We're going to play tag," she said firmly, as she smiled back at him. "I'm going to make sure you have some fun." The grip on his shirt loosened a bit, but she was still basically steering him. "There will be lots of people there, it'll be great." He could argue, but she really wasn't going let him get away unless he ran screaming from her. Which she had a feeling he wouldn't do.

"Sora's going too. So we'll all hang out together, okay?"

[identity profile] halfdarkened.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Tag?" There was an unsaid, "Really?" in his tone. He was tired. Tag wasn't even a real sport or competition. They hadn't played that since they were kids.

And then there was mention of Sora. He hadn't seen Sora since they fought in the fog. Kairi had no clue what happened. And Riku had no clue where he stood with his best friend right now.

"Tag?" he repeated. Riku stopped in his tracks, tall and well-built enough to resist being hauled off by Kairi fairly easily.

[identity profile] heartstoblend.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, tag." She glanced back, tilting her head a bit and keeping up with the smile. "C'mon, it'll be fun! Like old times!" Indeed, the girl was oblivious to the fight between her two friends. If she had known, she probably would have shown far more tact in attacking Riku and dragging in along with her to this little event.

Turning her gaze forward again, she was caught off guard when Riku stopped walking. Considering that she went right on going, expecting the extra weight behind her, she stumbled forward with a small yelp of surprise.

Whoops. Not so graceful, princess.

Aladdin made his way to the park. It’s been a while since he’s played tag. The last time he played it musta been when he was a kid, and he didn’t think playing it with Jasmine really counts. Or does it? Aladdin figured though it wouldn’t hurt to have a little bit of fun. It wasn’t too hard to find where it was on the map. When he arrived, he noticed a lot of people were here too. Some he recognized from the thread, he even spotted Sora amongst the crowd.

“Wow, looks like a lotta people showed up already,” Aladdin said with a grin, taking in at all the folks around him. Wondering if anyone was going to start the game in particular. Though, either way he was ready. Aladdin knew this was going to be a lot of fun at any rate.

Lightning glanced up as she noticed someone walking nearer and shifted her weight so she looked even less like talking than she did earlier. She recognized the man's voice at least. Wasn't he the guy who said there were eleven of him? Regeneration... right...

"Do I look like I'm playing?" she asked, indicating the rather large distance between herself and the crowd of people with her eyes.

It wasn't just that Naminé was a drifter. She was still trying to understand the concept of friendship. This whole thing was new to her. She looked up in surprise when someone addressed her. "I'm Naminé," she answered easily. "Are you here for the game, too?"
