time to have some fun [Open]

Character(s): Everyone who wants to be!
Content: An epic game of tag
Setting: The park
Time: Forward dated to Week 29

Xion waited eagerly at the park with Hope. The post on the message board got a lot of replies, even by people she didn't know. In some ways, she was a little nervous... but mostly excited. This was new, and different, and she couldn't wait to see how playing a game actually went.

[ooc: Ok, so this is mostly a free-for-all, but there are a few rules. One, first post will be a ~mingle~ thread. If you want to talk to someone, do so there! (It might be helpful to note if it's a private conversation, or an open one).

Second, for every new person that is 'it,' we'll start a new tag thread. So, say Hope tags Xion- we'll move from the previous thread and Xion would start a new one. Make sense? There's not really a posting order going, just tag (haha) when your character is being chased, or when you feel like it, or whatever.

Third, action tags are allowed! They are not required, but if it's easier then go ahead.

If you show up late, don't worry about it! It's tag. Seriously, join and leave whenever you want.]

Hope stood in the park next to Xion, grinning with excitement. It had been a few days since Xion posted on the message board, and they'd all decided to wait a few days before getting everyone together. A lot of people had said they'd show up, and Hope couldn't wait to meet everyone.

He blinked for a second, then started picking up a bunch of twigs and sticks, making sure they were all the same length, and then one that was shorter.

Xion wouldn't be the only one feeling both a little nervous and excited. Well, Nana was feeling mostly excited. This was supposed to be fun--with other people! Would she make more friends in this way? Were there other "games" she could learn about afterward? Really, she had no idea what was going to happen, but whatever it was, it couldn't mean anything bad was going to happen.

Kakyuu didn't seem to mind at all once Nana told her about this. Through her voice, to Nana it seemed as if she were encouraging it. So, that had to mean this was okay, right?

Nana kept the directions and Xion's appearance firmly in mind as she looked around for the landmarks and what colors they were. It was quite a distance, but she seemed to have found the park's entrance. That other person, with the lighter colored hair--Hope? What was he doing?

Her innocent curiosity could only draw her closer to the two.

Even though the kids who were arranging the game of tag on the message board seemed to want Hercules to come, he still couldn't help but be nervous. Sure, the other boy had said he could cast a spell to make sure no one was hurt, but Herc wasn't even sure a spell like that existed, and even if it did, how could it work?

But Herc was gonna give this a try anyway, since he never really got to play tag, or any games back home. He walked up behind the grey-haired boy and tapped him on the shoulder. "Um, this was where we're meeting for tag, right?"

So Kanaria still had a hard time navigating this city, but she was getting better. And it could help that she had a bird's eye view from her box while flying, so when she flew over the park, she remembered the surroundings where everyone was gathered. Kanaria landed a ways away, on the fringe of the park to hide her box away some place safe before walking towards the group.

It would be cheating to use her box..she wasn't Suisei-Seki, afterall! So when she came close to the group, she hid in the bushes close to a chestnut-haired boy for a while, looking around to see who all had showed up so far. How did they interact, how long had they all been here? She would find out before joining!! The perfect disguise if she was caught!!

Good thing she planned ahead, cause she couldn't hide in the shadows for long, because when she tried to ease forwards, she tripped over a root and came tumbling out like a ball of green, yellow and orange, bumping against Hercules' calf with a rattle of porcelain upon coming to a stop.

Stares up at him blankly, frozen for now.

The Eleventh Doctor came strolling up to the park, hands in his pockets as he whistled. This time, it was a song of the Ood - boy, did they know how to sing. He really should go back and visit sometime and double-check to make sure there wasn't anything else anachronistic about their planet's development - but then, it had only been a few weeks. Anyway, he couldn't exactly escape this place just yet, so it was no good thinking about it.

"Hello!" he called cheerfully once he reached the two. "This is where everyone's gathered to play tag, isn't it? I'm the Doctor. You can call me the Tag... no, wait, don't. I was about to make up something awful. Just call me the Doctor." A good game a tag was just what he needed to get his blood pumping and his head cleared up a bit.

Priere didn't come to play tag, no not at all. She was much too old to play games like these. Sure, she'd make the exception every once in a while to play with the kids back at the orphanage... but she was too old. She didn't come to play with the kids this time.

Well that was mostly true, after all, her brother was a kid, and it was always possible that he would show up here, blind hope and all. But, as expected, he wasn't. Maybe that girl on the network was right, he was back home, which was a good thing... right? It's not like she was lonely.

She was about to turn back when she noticed something strange. Okay, so most of the people there were younger than she was, a fre of them looked her age but... "Aren't you a bit old to play tag?" she couldn't help asking the man.
ext_1010259: (Soft smile)

[identity profile] shout-geronimo.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
The Doctor looked up when the girl came up to him, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "You're never too old to play tag," he told her cheerfully, "never. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. Or dull. I think I'd prefer it if they lied." At least then they weren't being barmy old codgers, whoever 'they' were. He looked at the unfamiliar young woman, still smiling. "And anyway, wouldn't you be considered 'too old'? Yet here you are. It's not a bad thing, I'd say."
divine_storm: (Duuuuuuuurr)

[personal profile] divine_storm 2011-01-21 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Guess I know a lot of dull people then..." Priere answered back. Okay, she had to admit, he was starting to make a good case, but really, she wasn't quite in the mood for tag.

Though it was strange that he considered her as "too old", she was usually treated like she was 'just a kid' by too many people around here. "I was just walking around, trying to see if my little brother was still here, that's all."
ext_1010259: (What)

[identity profile] shout-geronimo.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe, maybe not. Maybe it's poor judgement. I dunno, you'll have to decide." The Doctor shrugged. It wasn't up to him to decide the disposition of perfect strangers he'd never met (and probably never would). But the situation with her brother, that drew his attention. "Still here? What do you mean, 'still here'?" Had he simply gone home, or had he been one of the "kidnapped" folks he'd hear a bit about?
divine_storm: (Happy)

[personal profile] divine_storm 2011-01-22 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh... well, he kinda disappeared on me when we came back from Spira..." Priere answered rather evasively. She wasn't really one to talk about her problems to others... especially not complete . "But someone said he might have gone back home, so that's good." She had a smile on her face that anyone observant could see was forced.

"But come on, you didn't come here to hear about that... isn't that game going to start soon?"
ext_1010259: (Finger poke of doom)

[identity profile] shout-geronimo.livejournal.com 2011-01-23 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Her smile was fake. Of course it was, she'd just talked about her brother disappearing to a complete stranger, and she was obviously worried. "Maybe he did," said the Doctor, trying to reassure her. "I've had someone disappear on me, too." He couldn't forget Lamington, even though they'd only known each other for a short while. "But never mind that, you obviously want to change the subject. I'm pretty sure the game's going to start soon, after we're all done socializing. I like socializing, don't you? So many people."

It didn't take long for NiGHTS to find the park, with her speed. It had been far too long since she'd just had a bit of fun (other than messing with Hook, that is; that was always fun) without worrying about anything else - and really, worrying wasn't her style. It got in the way of more important things, like flying about and possibly slacking off. The Nightmaren, noting the position of the children, decided to hover only slightly above the ground and waved. "Hi, there!" she chirped. "My name is NiGHTS! I came to play with you all. Don't worry, I'll make sure to stay close to the ground." She needed a good challenge, anyway - and besides, flying higher when everyone else was obviously land-bound was cheating, and wouldn't make the game any fun, anyway.

Naminé wasn't really used to the whole playing games thing. Sure, she'd seen some in Sora's memories, with Riku and Kairi, but she'd never actually played herself. She wasn't entirely sure why she actually came down there. Maybe it was because she was curious and considered Xion a friend. Or maybe it was because Xion had seemed so happy at the idea that Naminé would be there.

Whatever the case was, there the blonde was, walking up slowly and lingering at the edge of the crowd.
ext_1022502: (Default)

[identity profile] eternitydreamer.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, a drifter. Well, if nothing else, NiGHTS was good at drawing people in. She gave a friendly sort of wave in Naminé's direction and floated over, smiling. "Well, hello, there," she greeted, noticing the girl's shyness and figuring it would be best to speak first. "My name is NiGHTS. What's yours?"
prismsmemory: (Unexpected surprises // kinda happy)

[personal profile] prismsmemory 2011-01-19 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't just that Naminé was a drifter. She was still trying to understand the concept of friendship. This whole thing was new to her. She looked up in surprise when someone addressed her. "I'm Naminé," she answered easily. "Are you here for the game, too?"
ext_1022502: ({it's a bright new day})

[identity profile] eternitydreamer.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
NiGHTS nodded. "Yep! I haven't had a good game in ages." Not literal ages, mind, though given NiGHTS' (lack of) concept of mortal time and the fact that she really hadn't played some games in ages, it was possible. Then again, maybe all those times chasing Octopaw didn't count, since they weren't really reciprocal...
prismsmemory: (I am listening // continue // interested)

[personal profile] prismsmemory 2011-01-21 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"I haven't really played many games," Naminé admitted, wondering if most people played games like this and if it would really be okay for her to be there. NiGHTS was starting to break down her worry and that was good. "I've only watched." Through someone else's memories, but... details...
ext_1022502: ({take my hand})

[identity profile] eternitydreamer.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
NiGHTS tilted her head. What kind of kid didn't play games? Either the kind that were too shy, or... but no. She wasn't in the mood to ask, and she was sure the other wasn't in the mood to answer. The Nightmaren smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry," she told Naminé reassuringly, "I'm sure you'll do just fine."
prismsmemory: (straightforward smile)

[personal profile] prismsmemory 2011-01-22 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Naminé looked up at NiGHTS worriedly for a moment before she let herself smile. "I hope so," she admitted. "Xion wanted me to come." And that was pretty much the only reason she was here at all. But maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing. "Do you know anyone here?"

Unlike most everyone else there, Lightning wasn't there to play. She was in no way going to play. That was Serah's thing, not hers. She was just there for guard duty. If anyone wanted to try breaking things up, they'd have to go through her first.

So, she settled into the outskirts, leaning against a wall with her arms crossed over her chest, watching everything that was going on.
ext_1010259: (I have a doctorate in silly walks)

[identity profile] shout-geronimo.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It took awhile for the Eleventh Doctor to notice someone he vaguely recognized, and Lightning was the one who stood out. He walked up to the woman immediately, a big grin on his face. "Have to say," he told her, "that from the time we spoke, I hadn't quite pegged you as a 'tag' sort of person."

[identity profile] apocalypsesaber.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Lightning glanced up as she noticed someone walking nearer and shifted her weight so she looked even less like talking than she did earlier. She recognized the man's voice at least. Wasn't he the guy who said there were eleven of him? Regeneration... right...

"Do I look like I'm playing?" she asked, indicating the rather large distance between herself and the crowd of people with her eyes.
ext_1010259: (Soft smile)

[identity profile] shout-geronimo.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
The Doctor shrugged. "No, not really," he replied, still cheerful, "but one can always hope." Being a mature and responsible adult was incredibly overrated, he thought. It did one an infinite amount of good to fine one's inner child every now and again. Of course, not everyone could be expected to do that. Oh, well, to each their own.

"You'll be chaperoning, then?"

[identity profile] apocalypsesaber.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone had to be the responsible one. Lightning figured she might as well be the one to do it.

"Something like that. Someone has to do it."

Meaning, she didn't trust everyone in this stupid city. Only a small handful, and she'd be damned if she let anyone ruin a fun time for Hope.
ext_1010259: (I have a doctorate in silly walks)

[identity profile] shout-geronimo.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
He understood what Lightning wasn't saying. Of course he did; nine-hundred years to go on meant he wasn't automatically an idiot. "I know exactly what you're talking about," he told her with a wink. "And you're right, someone has to. Otherwise, the rest of us wouldn't be able to slack off." He grinned, chuckling, and then nodded at her as though to say, not to worry. If things go wrong, I'll help.
