Content: An epic game of tag
Setting: The park
Time: Forward dated to Week 29

Xion waited eagerly at the park with Hope. The post on the message board got a lot of replies, even by people she didn't know. In some ways, she was a little nervous... but mostly excited. This was new, and different, and she couldn't wait to see how playing a game actually went.

[ooc: Ok, so this is mostly a free-for-all, but there are a few rules. One, first post will be a ~mingle~ thread. If you want to talk to someone, do so there! (It might be helpful to note if it's a private conversation, or an open one).

Second, for every new person that is 'it,' we'll start a new tag thread. So, say Hope tags Xion- we'll move from the previous thread and Xion would start a new one. Make sense? There's not really a posting order going, just tag (haha) when your character is being chased, or when you feel like it, or whatever.

Third, action tags are allowed! They are not required, but if it's easier then go ahead.

If you show up late, don't worry about it! It's tag. Seriously, join and leave whenever you want.]

"Tag?" There was an unsaid, "Really?" in his tone. He was tired. Tag wasn't even a real sport or competition. They hadn't played that since they were kids.

And then there was mention of Sora. He hadn't seen Sora since they fought in the fog. Kairi had no clue what happened. And Riku had no clue where he stood with his best friend right now.

"Tag?" he repeated. Riku stopped in his tracks, tall and well-built enough to resist being hauled off by Kairi fairly easily.

"Yes, tag." She glanced back, tilting her head a bit and keeping up with the smile. "C'mon, it'll be fun! Like old times!" Indeed, the girl was oblivious to the fight between her two friends. If she had known, she probably would have shown far more tact in attacking Riku and dragging in along with her to this little event.

Turning her gaze forward again, she was caught off guard when Riku stopped walking. Considering that she went right on going, expecting the extra weight behind her, she stumbled forward with a small yelp of surprise.

Whoops. Not so graceful, princess.

Out of simple reflex, Riku bent forward a little and caught Kairi in the crook of his right arm, steadying her before continuing.

"Kairi, more like ancient times. We weren't even doing that anymore when we left the Islands." He gave a sigh out of sheer tiredness. How is it SHE has energy?

As Riku scooped her up from falling flat on her face, Kairi gave a relieved sigh and a tiny laugh of embarrassment, "Thanks." She put her arms out for a moment to gain her balance as he steadied her, finally regaining all semblances of equal footing.

"And so what? Just give it a chance, okay?" Her hands go to her hips and she looks up at him. "You don't even have to stay that long. Please?" And as she says please, she puts her hands together as if to beg, giving a big smile.

Riku said nothing in reply to her thanks, instead continuing to give her an odd expression.

And there was that look. And that smile. "But we're... We're not kids anymore, Kairi." And that look was still there. And that smile. He sighed again, just gazing down at her. This was a losing battle.

"Oh, stop with the excuses. Just because we aren't kids doesn't mean we can't goof off once in a while. Don't be such an old man." She's still smiling, her last sentence punctuated with laughter.

"Really, what harm could it do?"

After a sigh, a smirk slowly appeared. "I don't know. Geezers like me bruise pretty easy." He began to stretch his arms, starting to drain away his sleepiness. "And what if I fall and break my hip? Arthritis is bad enough."

Trust Riku to be a wise guy. There was a beat of silence as she cocked her head, one eyebrow raising up. "Hah hah, you're so funny." Sarcasm, she could pull it off. "If you break your hip, I'll never make you play tag again, how's that?"

Riku pocketed his left thumb. "Oh, now you're making me. Okay, then. Deal. I better not have a stroke, either." He tilted his head a little upward. "So, where's it gonna be?"

Kairi couldn't help but roll her eyes a bit, but she finally just shrugged it off and jerked a thumb over her shoulder. "They said everyone was meeting over at the park for this. You want to walk on your own or do I have to keep dragging you?"

"Does it matter? Either way I'm going, right?" A mischievous smirk crossed Riku's face as he looked in the direction she pointed to. "The park, huh?" Riku slowly reached out and tapped Kairi on the shoulder.

"Tag." With that Riku shot off in the direction of the park.

"Yeah, pretty much," she replied, a fully satisfied smirk on her face as she turned her head slightly, looking in the direction that he was pointing. Looking back just in time for him to tap her on the shoulder, she blinked in surprise before she realized what he'd just done.

Which resulted in her throwing her fists into the air. "Hey! Get back here, Riku!" Kairi gave a small huff, and then tore off after him. "I'm going to get you!"
