time to have some fun [Open]

Character(s): Everyone who wants to be!
Content: An epic game of tag
Setting: The park
Time: Forward dated to Week 29

Xion waited eagerly at the park with Hope. The post on the message board got a lot of replies, even by people she didn't know. In some ways, she was a little nervous... but mostly excited. This was new, and different, and she couldn't wait to see how playing a game actually went.

[ooc: Ok, so this is mostly a free-for-all, but there are a few rules. One, first post will be a ~mingle~ thread. If you want to talk to someone, do so there! (It might be helpful to note if it's a private conversation, or an open one).

Second, for every new person that is 'it,' we'll start a new tag thread. So, say Hope tags Xion- we'll move from the previous thread and Xion would start a new one. Make sense? There's not really a posting order going, just tag (haha) when your character is being chased, or when you feel like it, or whatever.

Third, action tags are allowed! They are not required, but if it's easier then go ahead.

If you show up late, don't worry about it! It's tag. Seriously, join and leave whenever you want.]

Unlike most everyone else there, Lightning wasn't there to play. She was in no way going to play. That was Serah's thing, not hers. She was just there for guard duty. If anyone wanted to try breaking things up, they'd have to go through her first.

So, she settled into the outskirts, leaning against a wall with her arms crossed over her chest, watching everything that was going on.

It took awhile for the Eleventh Doctor to notice someone he vaguely recognized, and Lightning was the one who stood out. He walked up to the woman immediately, a big grin on his face. "Have to say," he told her, "that from the time we spoke, I hadn't quite pegged you as a 'tag' sort of person."

Lightning glanced up as she noticed someone walking nearer and shifted her weight so she looked even less like talking than she did earlier. She recognized the man's voice at least. Wasn't he the guy who said there were eleven of him? Regeneration... right...

"Do I look like I'm playing?" she asked, indicating the rather large distance between herself and the crowd of people with her eyes.

The Doctor shrugged. "No, not really," he replied, still cheerful, "but one can always hope." Being a mature and responsible adult was incredibly overrated, he thought. It did one an infinite amount of good to fine one's inner child every now and again. Of course, not everyone could be expected to do that. Oh, well, to each their own.

"You'll be chaperoning, then?"

Someone had to be the responsible one. Lightning figured she might as well be the one to do it.

"Something like that. Someone has to do it."

Meaning, she didn't trust everyone in this stupid city. Only a small handful, and she'd be damned if she let anyone ruin a fun time for Hope.

He understood what Lightning wasn't saying. Of course he did; nine-hundred years to go on meant he wasn't automatically an idiot. "I know exactly what you're talking about," he told her with a wink. "And you're right, someone has to. Otherwise, the rest of us wouldn't be able to slack off." He grinned, chuckling, and then nodded at her as though to say, not to worry. If things go wrong, I'll help.

Lightning wasn't quite sure how to take that look, but she nodded in response. "Tch. Glad someone can get some entertainment out of this." Contrary to popular belief, though, she would enjoy watching more than she would have if she'd been forced to play. So, she was looking forward to guard duty in that she'd be taking pleasure on the sidelines. That was her duty.

"Oh, everyone needs a bit of fun now and again. Otherwise we'd all be boring. Life would just be waiting in lines, pool parties and after dinner mints." The Doctor didn't like boring; he much preferred getting 'out there' and having fun, and this was exactly the way to do it. "So, do you know anyone here? I don't." He'd come over upon seeing the open invitation.

"Tch. I don't do pool parties, waiting in lines, or after dinner mints." Which probably made her sound like a stuffy and very boring person. Like she cared. "Yeah. Silver-haired kid. He's from my world." She inclines her head in Hope's direction.

"Well, pool parties can be fun, just not the ones I've been to. They're usually a front for alien invasions, mass brainwashing or terrible cooking," the Doctor replied with a chuckle. "But there you go. My life's always like that." Good, thing, too; he couldn't imagine what it'd be like to have an ordinary life. Work, sleep, telly, the occasional after dinner mint... it almost made him want to nod off just thinking about it.

Lightning let a very small, but very amused, expression take over her features for a moment. They were apparently quite different. Lightning would have loved her normal life back, especially what it would mean for her sister. "Sounds like an adventure every day. Hope you've got the time for it."

And she had no idea what kind of pun she'd just pulled.
