time to have some fun [Open]

Character(s): Everyone who wants to be!
Content: An epic game of tag
Setting: The park
Time: Forward dated to Week 29

Xion waited eagerly at the park with Hope. The post on the message board got a lot of replies, even by people she didn't know. In some ways, she was a little nervous... but mostly excited. This was new, and different, and she couldn't wait to see how playing a game actually went.

[ooc: Ok, so this is mostly a free-for-all, but there are a few rules. One, first post will be a ~mingle~ thread. If you want to talk to someone, do so there! (It might be helpful to note if it's a private conversation, or an open one).

Second, for every new person that is 'it,' we'll start a new tag thread. So, say Hope tags Xion- we'll move from the previous thread and Xion would start a new one. Make sense? There's not really a posting order going, just tag (haha) when your character is being chased, or when you feel like it, or whatever.

Third, action tags are allowed! They are not required, but if it's easier then go ahead.

If you show up late, don't worry about it! It's tag. Seriously, join and leave whenever you want.]

Aladdin made his way to the park. It’s been a while since he’s played tag. The last time he played it musta been when he was a kid, and he didn’t think playing it with Jasmine really counts. Or does it? Aladdin figured though it wouldn’t hurt to have a little bit of fun. It wasn’t too hard to find where it was on the map. When he arrived, he noticed a lot of people were here too. Some he recognized from the thread, he even spotted Sora amongst the crowd.

“Wow, looks like a lotta people showed up already,” Aladdin said with a grin, taking in at all the folks around him. Wondering if anyone was going to start the game in particular. Though, either way he was ready. Aladdin knew this was going to be a lot of fun at any rate.

Nana was watching everyone show up, one by one. Some of them looked nervous, while others seemed very happy about playing this "game". Nana was at first happy herself, but then nervous. Not just people who looked her age were around. This was the first time she was going to play with human children, her first time ever.

Grown up humans were around too. It was so hard keeping track of all what was said! Was that even okay? She couldn't be sure... And just then she had to wonder; Papa would know what Tag was, right? He came from the world outside her old home.

"Wow, looks like a lotta people showed up already," a new voice said, in which distracted Nana before she would start to miss her papa again.

She looked to the man, who wore very wide pants. His shirt (if a human could really call it a shirt) didn't seem to cover up his upper half very well. Nana herself was wearing a different outfit for this occaison. The black and white dress Papa gave her was still being washed. This purple short sleeve and black skirt that extended just above her knees was all new to the diclonius.

"This must be a very fun thing to do," Nana said to the man who just arrived to the park. She wore an innocent smile, not really caring anymore that he was dressed so differently from her. No one else seemed to be bothered by that either.

Glancing over Aladdin noticed the little girl who spoke to him. She had pink hair and what looked like horns coming from her head, which seemed like an unusual feature. Though Aladdin didn’t seem to be phased by it, she seemed to act like a normal girl regardless. He rested his palm against his side as he addressed the young lady.

“Yea it is!” Aladdin looked a little surprised though, but he still had a nice smile on for her, “Do you know how to play?” Looks like he may have to teach her how to play if she doesn’t know yet. Aladdin is certainly willing to, he’s sure she’ll have fun from it. Most kids love this game no matter what the age.

Smiling big at how cheery he sounded came naturally for Nana. Excitement came pouring out through her voice "No! I came here to know what a game is like. Do you know how to play Tag?"

Just after asking, to her it seemed like he did know. "Could you please tell me how?"

Hope seemed a little busy, from the last time Nana saw him. Having someone else around to explain this game was great news to her!

“Sure!” Aladdin said with no hesitation, after all, this kid looks like she really wanted to play the game. She was kinda adorable the way she spoke to Aladdin. Though he gotta admit, he was still surprised she didn’t know how to play tag. Oh well, maybe she just didn’t have anyone teach her before.

Getting a little bit closer to her, Aladdin tilted his head closer so she can hear him clear enough. “Ok, this is how the game starts out,” Aladdin then pointed at one of the groups of people around the park, “One of these guys gets to be tagged ‘It’ and they get to try to chase us all around the park here!” He spoke out gestured his hand out in front of them.

Grinning, Aladdin looked at the pink haired girl again, “So, let’s say I tagged you ‘It’,” he gave a light pat on top of her shoulder, “I would come over and tag you like this, then say ‘Tag! You’re it!’, then you gotta chase me and anyone else who’s playin’ the game so they can be tagged ‘It’ instead.”

Aladdin then started rub his chin in thought, “Now… There’s supposed to be a base around here that we all gotta decide is the safe point… Oh and uh, that’s the place where you can hang around so where you can be off limits on getting tagged for a while.” Shrugging it off, Aladdin was pretty sure they could worry about that later, he placed his hands against his sides, “So, you think you got it?”

She liked how this human was being very kind to her. She felt no uneasiness or fear from him at all. There were many kind people and good things about this new place she had been in for not very long. It was wonderful. If only Papa could be found, and then it would be even more wonderful!

Nana felt herself nodding as she listened with determination to get this right. Her pink eyes widened in a bit of surprise but nothing else. It didn't hurt; it was just that she wasn't expecting it. As he explained she felt herself giggle at the thought of chasing, then patting someone on the shoulder to get another to chase her.

She then stopped the giggles and almost asked what a "base" was, but this nice person mentioned it was a safe point. But games were supposed to be fun, right?

There was a slight look of confusion. "I think I understand most of it. But, if getting tagged isn't dangerous, why should there be a safe point? Do all games have them?"

[identity profile] streetratprince.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Aladdin blinked at the mention of the game being dangerous if there’s a safe point. Looks like this kid took the term a little bit too seriously than she should. Aladdin shook his head, “What? Oh no no, this game isn’t dangerous at all. I mean, you could trip and fall while chasing someone, but that’s about as dangerous as it gets really,” he told her with a bit of an awkward chuckle.

“The safe point is just a term to explain where you’re protected from getting tagged ‘It’,” Aladdin explained scratching the back of his neck, feeling like this was a bit out of the ordinary to clarify something like this. Though she is a kid, so maybe she just has yet to learn some things.

“And yea, I think some other games have a safe point, if Genie were here he could list a bunch of them I’m sure,” Aladdin, thinking about some of the many games his big blue pal has played in the past.

Nana found herself nodding. "Oh, okay. I see what you mean now." The chuckle she heard made her feel a bit embarrassed for some reason. She didn't know what exactly... "This is all new to me," she had to explain, a slight blush on her cheeks. Nana didn't look all that giddy or confident as she tried to help him understand why. "Where I came from, there weren't any games to play." She had to stop herself for a second, before she could feel herself looking back on what life used to be like before Paixao and to have made her very first friend. "Where I lived, it wasn't what most people would see as a normal kind of place."

"And this is my first time around other people that aren't much older than me." Nana looked around at all the human children who looked so happy with each other. Seeing them happy made her wistful. She was going to be happy along with them, very soon!

She didn't come to the park to look or think back to the facility she did not miss, not at all. There was just one person she missed, as he was running away elsewhere--but she refused to start dwelling in a longing for him at this time. She wanted to make Papa proud through learning how to live like humans in the outside world did, in order to live peacefully among them.

Nana perked up at the thought of him knowing someone who clearly knew a lot about games. She looked back to the man who's been a big help to her so far. "I'd like to meet this Genie person someday. He must be a very good friend to you."

Of course, at this point, it was about time they introduced themselves! "My name is Nana. What's yours?"

[identity profile] streetratprince.livejournal.com 2011-02-04 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Aladdin was a bit surprised to hear this, what kind of place wouldn’t let kids run around and play? He gave the girl a look of some concern, poor thing, what kind up bringing did she have? Aladdin kept his mouth closed, but silently he wanted to ask all these questions. He couldn’t help but worry about this.

Though looking at this from another angle, this might give this girl a chance to have some fun finally. On the mention of Genie, Aladdin nodded with a kind smile, “Yea, Genie’s a really great guy, I’ll have to introduce you to him! I’m sure he can teach you all sorts of fun games to play, he’ll be happy to have you too.”

This was of course in hopes of making sure the kid can be introduce to a better life than the one she described. Once the girl introduced herself as Nana, Aladdin held out his hand to shake, “Name’s Aladdin, it’s nice to meet you Nana!”

/late. Unexpected delays but I've returned!!

[identity profile] a-silpelit.livejournal.com 2011-02-20 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
She didn't shift her gaze when she noticed the concern, as she could not fully conceal the glassy look of sadness in her eyes within a smile.

Nana thought he was going to ask about her past, when he mentioned his friend Genie again. The sadness in her gaze left. "Yes, you'll have to!" Her happiness grew to giddiness once more.

She shook his hand. She was familiar with this gesture--with some of the doctors and didn't like it. But, since she's been living her new life in Paixao, she started hesitating less and less. "Nice to meet you too!"

“Nice to meet ya too!” Aladdin said as he shook her hand. He came up with a good idea for them. He snapped his fingers, “Hey! I know what we can do!”

Aladdin gestured as he patted Nana on the shoulder, “How about we go on a practice run? We can play tag for a little bit and see if you can get the hang of it, that way you’ll know what to do before we play as a big group. Whattya say?”

[identity profile] a-silpelit.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
She giggled and nodded. "That does sound fun!"

With that, Nana had to think and remember for a second on what to do. "The pat means I'm 'it', right? So, I'm supposed to chase you?" She just wanted to be sure, and wanted to get this right.

[identity profile] streetratprince.livejournal.com 2011-02-24 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
“Yup, that’s right!” Aladdin nodded with a grin. He looked around to see if it was clear enough then made a sneaky chuckle. “All you have to do is catch me! Annnnd TAG!” Aladdin exclaimed with a laugh as he patted Kanaria on the shoulder quickly as he paced himself off away from her, ready to be chased, “You’re it!”

[identity profile] a-silpelit.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Her laugh came out so naturally. It didn't take long for her to register on what she was to do as she started to run after Aladdin.

She didn't know if the green haired girl was going to chase him too. Was that even allowed? Oh well, what did it matter?! It was only all in good fun anyhow!

Her prosthetic limbs were secure in place as she was running towards her friend.
