Election Day [Active]
Character(s): THE POPULATION OF PAIXAO AND THEN SOME?! ....lol. actually yes
Content: It's finally Election Day! ...jeez everyone's out and about.
Setting: I8, temp offices.
Time: Week 21, all day.
Warnings: ....none? o.o
OOC Notes: You do not have to reply to this post if you're 'voting' (unless you arelol doing a 'write-in'). But the AC is coming up, so it may help out :D Your character can only vote once. The mods Spish with no life will be voting multiple times to account for the natives. The actual results, however, are not viewable by the characters. It's really just for the amusement factor. If characters want to continue their campaigns outside the office, they can do that in this thread as well (please do <3). And, lastly! This log will operate "party-style" - multi-chaining. Who knows if it'll even come to that.
It had been awhile since the city's natives were so active outside of their everyday bustle. The offices at I8 were frequented by the blondes, moving in and out of the doors to fill their votes, and then to return to their business.
Once inside, the voter had to either hand over their citizenship certificate for "verification" or fill out the application form for a certificate in order to vote. Then, they could move onto a line, where the voter was dealt with one at a time (not entirely the most effective process). An administrative assistant would hand out the ballot and allow the voter to step back into a private alcove, then take the ballot after they were done and drop it into their collection box, never leaving it unguarded.
The ballot has the names of those running with a box besides each, and the directions "Choose only one or ballot will become void." There is, also, a write-in section.
Throughout the entire day, Rosemary is hovering amongst the inside, keeping a watch over the proceedings.
Outside was at the reign of the runners making any last attempts to persuade the voters into choosing them. Of course, depending on how they may try to go about this... the natives may or may not perceive them any better than before.
However, Marcus Praetoris, the last-minute addition to the ballots, is not present.

He gave a soft hum in thought before he gestured for Vyers to lean down. “You think now would be a good time to bring up the fur brushing, gold, pearls, diamonds and other expensive jewellery?” Timon asked quietly.
Even after the rather promising display he had given, Timon was still Timon.

Attempting to keep at least half of the horror he felt off his face, Vyers murmured a quiet, half-dazed "No. No it would not."

“It was a just a thought, yeesh! Now quit makin’ that face, your scaring the voters. Maybe it would have been better if you hadn’t come along…” The meerkat sighed and smiled nervously at those who passed. “Ah. Nothing to worry about here, folks. My assistant just has stomach cramps... Again.”

"Perhaps you should allow me to speak for awhile. My skills in speechmaking are unparalleled if I do say so myself," he suggested. And then, with the slightest hint of a sly smile on his face, he added, "After the wonderful performance you had before, it could not hurt, could it?"

At the demons suggestion Timon was left with no choice but to turn and look at him again. “Now that’s an even worse idea! The last thing I need is for you to say something dumb and sway everyone’s vote to those other mooks. What would you have to say, anyway? And don’t say ‘you’ll have to wait and find out’. That’s not gonna change my mind on the matter.”

He leaned in a little closer, keeping his voice low. "Need I remind you that I am also more experienced in matters such as these?" It wasn't exactly the same situation, no, and he had never had to be voted for, but speeches he could do.

He stomach always was his weakness.

"I vote something you actually know about, not think you know. I ain't gunna just sit by and stand for you makin' us both look bad. What you choose to do for your own reputation is up to you, just don't drag me into, especially now. Just make me sound as great as I truly am."

The demon cleared his throat and stood straight, the picture, he imagined, of unshakable confidence. "Dear people of Paixao, listen to what I have to say!" he began. His voice was loud, strong, and, as could be expected of the Dark Adonis, dramatic, and as he gave his speech, his words were accompanied by grand hand gestures. "You face a difficult decision today, perhaps even moreso than you realize. You have four equally respectable candidates to choose from, most--if not all--of them you have never seen in office. But! It is my belief that the best choice is more obvious than you would think. All you need do, dear citizens, is open your journals and look into posts made in the past. Providing others with information needed for everyday life in your fair city... Informational entries meant to protect others from harm... Efforts to search for people gone missing...! Has not Timon kept your interests at heart from the beginning? The proof lies before you to witness, an example of what he is capable of! Your other candidates, I am sorry to say, cannot make a similar boast. I bid you think hard and carefully, dear citizens. I am certain you will make the correct choice in the end."
A nod of the head and a small, satisfied smile, and Vyers returned to Timon's side, eagerly awaiting the meerkat's response.

He listened quietly to the demons speech. His energy was there and he certainly had the right enthusiasm. Although, Timon was unsure whether or not Vyers had been swatting at bugs or simply trying to be dramatic with such large hand gestures. His words, however, were what proved most important and, to Timon’s surprise, he spoke them well. The meerkat was far from applauding the performance but he did smile, notably looking relieved. Thankfully there was something Vyers could do right.
“Alright, that was pretty good.” He admitted once the demon joined him again. “Just don’t get too used to this speech thing. I’m the one running for mayor, remember?”
no subject
He chuckled to himself before replying. "I simply wished to do what I could to help. And you must practice for when it will be you giving them, hm?" Although considering the subjects Timon seemed to gravitate to, Vyers couldn't help but feel a little bit nervous about that.
no subject
“What do you mean ‘must practice’?” he asked. “There was nothing wrong with my speech. I think I did a wonderful job.”
