Moses and the Burning Bush. [Closed]
Character(s): Axel, Kadaj.
Content: Axel plans on trying to capture a subject for his private endevours.
Setting: Ouside the "Fortess of Darkness".
Time: Late Tuesday night.
Warnings: None yet.
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, "I will go over and see this strange sight - why the bush does not burn up.”
It actually hadn’t taken Axel long to find the establishment. While it was a risk to go beyond the borders of the city, it was one he knew he must take; for the good of science, for the good of his own Heart that waited patiently for him a great reach away. He could locate this fortress, but not that, but it would do, because he knew all in all it would become a simple stepping stone on the path leading to his desire.
Axel slunk through the stretches of grassy field beyond the Muspelheim gates. It was a dry, airy grassland, but the night was frigid and bitter, and it was very uncomfortable for a creature of his composure – his very being was satiated upon a single flame burning within him. Slowly, his black-coated form moved through the plains, the vague, chilled wind brushing along his clothing and hair.
He came upon the fortress and stopped a ways away, but close enough for him to observe quietly. Crouching down under the brush, Axel observed the area like a lion sizing up its prey. He felt an odd thump in his chest and tensed—and suddenly, somewhere between him and the house of darkness, a single flame ignited amongst the grasses.

What did seem interesting, though, lay just outside his window.
Kadaj actually did a double-take, frowning slightly as he caught sight of the fire. That was... weird. There was no cause of it that he could see, really, and his natural curiosity coupled with the fact that he was horribly, horribly bored of just waiting around his room until something demanded his attention made him decide to investigate.
As stealthily as he could, he made his way out of the fortress and into the night, slinking past the others on his way with hopefully minimal notice. He must have been quiet enough to evade them, as no one came to follow him that he could see, and with a slightly triumphant smirk he walked in the direction he had seen the fire, head tilted slightly to one side.

And Axel still sat crouched quietly within the tall grasses. Thankfully, it was so dark so it was very hard to see him. Just to be safe, he tugged his hood up - covering that fiery red head of hair and hiding his bright eyes. Now, he was just a shadow in the dark.
no subject
He was starting to feel just a bit foolish for letting himself get carried away like this, lured outside by something as ridiculous as an untended flame, but it was at least more fun sitting doing nothing had been.

The fire began to do something interesting, then. It widened; Kadaj neared it, and it spread itself into a small walll... and then curled into a U shape, slowly turning to apparently come up on Kadaj's sides.
He watched silently.
no subject
"I know you're there," he said in carrying tones, resisting the urge to curse the fact that he had completely ruined his night vision by staring so intently at the flame. "Come out, Axel."
no subject
The flames roared and thrust upward, curling at a disturbing height above Kadaj's head, and encircling him entirely. He enveloped the boy in a "cage" of fire, of sorts, and slowly stood up from his patch of drying grass, as he could no longer be seen.
However, the hooded man moved forward; all too easily, he passed through the flames, is coated form contasting starkly against the bright colors. The flames did not die, but Axel reached up his hand, slowly urging that hood back and onto his shoulders - revealing himself, and his grin.
"You haven't forgotten me." And in instant, the fire was gone entirely. They were left with night.
no subject
He forced his face into a very grim smile, doing his best to ignore the after-images the flame had practically burned into his eyes. "Of course I remember... it's incredibly hard to forget someone as flashy as you." Nevermind the fact that he was pretty flashy himself; Kadaj was feeling a bit smug over having guessed his identity accurately and conveniently overlooked that fact.
"Seems like you haven't forgotten me either," he went on to say, shifting his weight slightly as he became just the tiniest bit more relaxed. He couldn't resist giving the other a teasing look, asking, "What, are you here for another kiss~?" The glare was still faintly present, though, just daring Axel to take that seriously. Bastard probably would anyway, but he didn't care.
no subject
He was close enough to touch him, now. Axel lifted his hand - his left one, which even through the black gloves, was obviously horribly disfigured and twisted all sorts of awkward ways, and moved it to place gently against the side of Kadaj's face. Axel stared down at him quietly, then dipped down, kissing him very gently, then pulling back.
no subject
"What are you here for, then, if not just that?" he asked, wiping his mouth the same as he had before, feeling just a little bit more pleased because Axel could see it now. "I'd prefer it if you don't touch me again, though, or at least not with that hand. If whatever you're after involves more of that, I'm not cooperating."
no subject
He looked back up at him, and chuckled. "Does it bother you that much? Got it squashed a few days ago. Wasn't a nice feeling." Axel made no mention of any attempts to heal or even mend it; what a peculiar thing he was. Plus, he was dodging the other question...
no subject
He fought back a sudden sadistic urge to grab that hand and squeeze, just to see how much it really hurt him. Axel hadn't really given him any indication of that, and he was still irritated enough at him for before that it seemed like a good idea. Still, he wasn't sure he wanted to give the redhead another opportunity to touch him again, so he kept his distance.
no subject
"So I noticed you're bored here..." he quietly said, leaning to the side a bit and glancing over Kadaj's head, toward the "fortress of darkness". He made some awkward displeased face at it, as if the very sight of it disgusted him.
Good thing it'd be gone in a few days. If the foreigners didn't get rid of it, the Organization would find a way... after all, no one could interfere with the Organization.
no subject
"I might be," he said evasively, also glancing towards the fortress. He wondered vaguely if his absence had even got noticed. "It has its ups and downs, but then, so does everything else." Such a boring answer, really, but hopefully one that would prompt some kind of response that he could analyze to figure out just why the hell Axel was here. He still didn't really know, and that was getting irritating.
He thought of something and looked sharply back over at him, eyes narrowed. "How did you know I was here, anyway?"
no subject
"That's my little secret," he replied, giving him a slight wink as he finally looked back to him and away from the indeed quite tacky fortress. Tch. Ansem really had lost his touch, hadn't he, Axel thought to himself.
That aside, his good hand slipped back out and upturned itself in the air, as he gestured to him, "I have an offer for you, Kadaj. I can take you somewhere much more interesting and exciting than this place. Ansem won't be around for much longer anyway. And the sex will be better."
Oh, he couldn't wait to see the look on his face.
no subject
"I don't see how your little offer is supposed to appeal to me, Axel. Interest and excitement aren't the reasons why I'm here, and, believe it or not, neither is sex. Unless whatever it is your offering has more to it than that, I'm not accepting. You haven't even told me what you're really after, just dangled this in front of me like I'm just waiting for the opportunity to pounce. You don't really think it's that easy, do you?"
It was a little hard to not be interested at all by what Axel was saying, though. Especially that part about Ansem not being around for much longer... just what was he talking about?
no subject
Of course he would not be opposed to drastic measures should they be necessary. Knowing Kadaj's stubborness, they probably would be. His bad hand fiddled with something in his pocket, as if anxious to bring out whatever was hidden there. It was Plan B.
no subject
He was on his guard again, feeling a lot more wary of Axel than he was really comfortable with. After just some stupid fire tricks and one fight, it seemed foolish of him to think that things wouldn't go his way again this time, but overconfidence had already proven itself to be the enemy. Axel wasn't doing anything particularly hostile yet that he could see, though, but he still watched him carefully.
no subject
Suddenly Axel thrust forward - his good gloved hand jerking sharply upward and grasping Kadaj's chin bruisingly tight. He squeezed. The bad hand itched to make use of it self, moved out of his pocket, and wandered places that he wouldn't allow him to look at - and the redhead's eyes and smile burned brightly just as his flames did.
"But I own you." The disfigured appendage weaseled its way beyond the leather curled up around Kadaj's neck - and then he'd feel something cold against his skin, and suddenly, also very sharp, piercing it.
Axel pushed the needle deep into his neck - in a matter of moments, he'd probably lose conciousness.
no subject
He slumped, falling forward slightly against Axel's chest with a soft whine, glaring up at him as best he could and saying, "No fair."
Definitely not one of his greatest moments, he thought with a small frown, before finally passing out.
no subject
Clutching him tighter, he shut his eyes then, and the two of them faded out of the night with only a few sparks of dwindling light.
