Kadaj stopped dead in his tracks, eyes fixed on the fire as it moved into that peculiar shape and drew closer. If he had been a cat, his hackles would be raised and he'd be hissing at it, but instead he forced himself to tear his eyes away from it long enough to look around for whoever was controlling it. He had a sneaking suspicion he knew who it was, really, and he let his hand drift slowly to his sword, eyes still darting about.
"I know you're there," he said in carrying tones, resisting the urge to curse the fact that he had completely ruined his night vision by staring so intently at the flame. "Come out, Axel."
