Urd sat in mid-air, floating casually as she watched the wide shop window in thought. Though she'd opened up the shop for all the right reasons -- new people needing guidance, meeting those with magical skill to help keep Shantotto's curse at bay -- she had to admit it was also a way to hide from everything going on in her personal life. She needed a retreat from Genie and Eden and all the problems therein. She wasn't hiding...she was just...taking a breather.

Smiling wryly, she sighed and closed her eyes. Hopefully people would come by, or this whole attempt to get her mind off her troubles would hardly work.

Urd's comment had piqued his interest, and so the demon had taken a short detour to the apartment before heading over to the goddess's shop. He wasn't entirely certain he could help Urd out with the problem that mage had created, but he was more than willing to help where he could. Vyers had no intention of looking like her. That she was even threatening to curse his good looks into nonexistence was terrible enough.

Vyers stepped into the shop with wine bottle in hand and peered around, as much to survey the wares as to look for the shop's owner.

Vyers jumped as Urd suddenly appeared in his vision, and the wine bottle he was holding leapt from hand to hand in Vyers' desperate bid to keep it from falling to the ground. He managed to catch it just in time and stood straight, acting as though the sudden game of one-man hot potato had never occurred just in time to be pulled into the back room.

"While my attitude toward those potions is still one of, ah... dubiousness," he admitted, "they do not have any effect on my being alone with you."

“Well they have mine.” Timon replied, climbing atop the demons shoulder where he then perched himself. “Er, your being alone with her, that is.” After all Vyers had been through at the hands of the goddess, he could not be trusted alone with her. Not when so many times things had gone wrong and the fault none other than his own. Vyers deserved a good smack in the head for even considering a visit to the shop.

“You can thank me later,” he continued, leaning comfortably against Vyers’ head. “Preferably over lunch.” If the demon intended to shop he had undoubtedly brought money with him, money that could be put to far greater use. Though why he had brought the bottle with him too was certainly a mystery. Just what had he intended to use that for?

Were Vyers a lesser demon, he would have rolled his eyes at the meerkat's actions. Instead he chose to ignore him for the time being, allowing Urd to defend herself as needed. Really, he wasn't entirely sure why Timon didn't trust him with Urd. Yes there had been a few mistakes, but surely a simple browsing didn't require him to be watched quite so closely, did it?

"What exactly did you want me to bring the wine for?" he asked, a good part of him hoping that Timon wouldn't want to try any of it. He shuddered to think of what the meerkat would be like drunk.

Timon frowned and carefully brushed his fur clean of any ‘cooties’ Urd may have left when she poked him. He never was a gentleman and certainly had no plans on becoming one any time in the future either. She may not have been serious regarding his lack of calls but the idea alone made him cringe. First journal conversations on a daily basis, then house calls… It only got worse from there.

“Yeah, I’ll send you a birthday card.” He replied, waving his paw carelessly at the goddess. There had been more he’d planned to say but Vyers’ shudder had caught Timon’s attention. He raised a brow at the demon, though nothing more. Perhaps Vyers had been lucky in that case, the meerkat for once succeeding in not running his mouth. Or even two times as lucky for his lack of interest in wine, the meerkat far more disgusted by it than anything else. He stuck his tongue out as Urd poured two glasses.

Vyers' face fell at first, having expected to get something in return for the wine, but he perked right back up when she complimented his taste. "But of course. Everyone seems to place far too little trust in my taste." It really was quite frustrating.

He took a sip from the glass and glanced curiously over at Timon. He hadn't heard about this.

He rolled his eyes at the demons response. Urd obviously had yet to see his closet. Had she, Timon was certain a different song would be sung. The clothing he held in there were considered horrors to the fashion world and not to be seen by anyone, all with the exception of one vest. Timon was not sure how Vyers had come into procession of something of actual merit, never mind the fact that they actually agreed on its value. All he could come up with was that own exquisite taste had begun to rub onto the demon. Which, it had been about time!

“We can’t all have as exciting lives as you.” He told Urd. Timon liked to think he had behaved fairly well but a fight with Pumbaa and ‘friendly’ chat with Marluxia had told him otherwise. “Is it really that hard to believe I’ve just been at home?”

Any curiosity toward Timon's activities was temporarily wiped from Vyers' mind, and he perked up as Urd affirmed that she did, in fact, have something for him. Excellent! Now his bottle of wine wouldn't have been sacrificed in vain.

"Oh, by the way, I was wondering if you had any capes in stock--in red if possible."

Timon nearly fell from the demons shoulder when the distance between him and Urd was abruptly cut short. He had been fortunate enough to catch himself without grabbing Vyers’ hair but that promised nothing in the future should the goddess choose to continue scaring him. The meerkat frowned, anything but approving of her methods. Don’t touch anything. Timon mouthed the words mockingly, pretending to be the goddess. He wasn’t some kid – though with the way he acted, it was of no surprise to anyone that he be treated like one. This especially as he crossed his arms over his chest and pouted.

However, regardless of his attitude, he would obey. It may not have appeared so but Timon was uncomfortable in Urd’s shop. Who knew how many potions she had sitting around, never mind what they could possibly do to him.

At the mention of capes, the meerkat sprang back to life and hit Vyers in the head. “Drapes!” He hastily corrected before the demon could intervene. “Do you have any drapes in stock? We’re thinking of redoing the living room. Maybe a few throw pillows, a little potpourri…”

Vyers shot a glare in Timon's direction. He just didn't see what the meerkat had against capes. It was a bold look to be sure, but it was a perfectly respectable look for a demon. And really, as far as Vyers was concerned, one who wore no clothes at all was hardly someone to ask fashion advice from.

He was about to repeat his request when Urd walked back into the room with the waistcoat. Stars in his eyes, all protest died in Vyers' throat as he set the glass of wine down and crossed the distance between himself and Urd. "Ah~! It is perfect!" he took the end in his hand, feeling it with barely retrained (and barely dignified) glee. "The material...! The cut...! The color...! Where in the world did you find this?"

Urd’s return had easily prevented an argument between the pair, Timon having been prepared to say a lot more regarding the demons pitiful sense of fashion. Just what was it that he saw in capes anyway? It was just a blanket someone had decided to drape over their shoulders, probably because they were cold. If anything, it was a hazard and likely to get continuously caught on things or stuck in doors. It was just stupid if you asked him.

Timon made a face, one of many sure to come, at the mention of Vyers’ romance life. It was one of many things he chose to try and ignore. The demons reaction to the gift included. As for the coat itself that Urd had presented, Timon supposed it was alright. He certainly did not mind the sight of it, unlike the rest of the demons wardrobe. The deep burgundy appealed to him almost as greatly as the shiny buttons. He continued to focus on the gold, watching the light reflect off the buttons while Vyers spoke.

Vyers paused in his examination of the waistcoat's fabric at Urd's voice. "That is what this is for?" he asked, a bit incredulous. He flashed the goddess a look before his gaze went back to the coat.

The quality of it was incredible, he supposed, obvious bribe or no. And the potion incident was some time ago. "I suppose I can be convinced to let the matter go."
cowardly_hero: (ORLY?)

[personal profile] cowardly_hero 2012-04-14 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
All in the past, huh? Timon raised a brow at the goddess before turning his attention back to the coat. Vyers appeared to have bought into the bribe, convinced it was well of enough worth. He, however, still had his doubts. It was ultimately up to the demon but Timon could not help but feel as though it were a lousy bargain. He nudged Vyers in the side of the head with his elbow and spoke lowly into his ear so that Urd could not hear.

“Is your dignity really worth some snazzy coat?” the meerkat asked, looking about as impressed as he sounded. Vyers could certainly do better. Maybe if he kept her talking he could get something else out of the goddess her, something of more value to the two of them.
beautifulrondo: (hmmmmmm....)

[personal profile] beautifulrondo 2012-04-26 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Now that Vyers thought about it, Timon had a point as well, didn't he? Vyers could possibly get a little more out of this if he played his cards right... Ah, but that was too selfish of him, wasn't it? He put a finger to his lips and "hm"ed softly in thought.

Well, Urd certainly wasn't in a good enough mood for him to try and push things in that direction anyway. But...

Ah, Timon wasn't distracted enough for him to ask about capes again, either.

Shopping trips were rather complicated when these two were involved, weren't they?

"...In any case, I assume tending to this shop is not all that you have been up to?" he asked, hoping to steer the conversation away from fashion for the time being.
cowardly_hero: (You're Not Helping)

[personal profile] cowardly_hero 2012-06-03 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Timon sent a dirty look Urd’s way and rubbed his head. “Hey!” Jealousy could easily have played a part in the equation but overall it was his knowledge of a bad bargain that made him speak up. He had played enough people to recognize his used car salesmen charm on almost anyone. In fact, Vyers was forced to deal with it more than anyone: Timon’s idea of splitting chores ‘evenly’ sixty-forty, his empty promise of picking up the tab ‘next time’, and endless list of excuses… How the demon had yet to kill him was truly a mystery.

The meerkats jaw dropped agape at Vyers’ change in subject, a sign that he had chosen to accept Urd’s gift. Normally Timon would have taken it upon himself to enlighten the demon of his mistake right there and then, but they would have the entire walk home for him to do so. Besides, Timon had as little intention of dampening Urd’s mood as Vyers had. Though knowing the meerkat he probably would anyway.

Looking away from the pair, he glanced around the shop and took in the unfamiliar sights and smells.
