New Hope Returns [Open]
Character(s): Urd, open!
Content: Urd's relief shop once again opens to the public.
Setting: Across the street from The Cheap Prayer.
Time: Week 39, all day!
Warnings: None.
Note: This log will be done via "party style" threading! Come in and make your own thread to get Urd's attention, or join into someone else's thread. It's all good!
Urd sat in mid-air, floating casually as she watched the wide shop window in thought. Though she'd opened up the shop for all the right reasons -- new people needing guidance, meeting those with magical skill to help keep Shantotto's curse at bay -- she had to admit it was also a way to hide from everything going on in her personal life. She needed a retreat from Genie and Eden and all the problems therein. She wasn't hiding...she was just...taking a breather.
Smiling wryly, she sighed and closed her eyes. Hopefully people would come by, or this whole attempt to get her mind off her troubles would hardly work.

Vyers stepped into the shop with wine bottle in hand and peered around, as much to survey the wares as to look for the shop's owner.

"I'm surprised. I figured you wouldn't want to be alone with me after the whole...potion thing."
no subject
"While my attitude toward those potions is still one of, ah... dubiousness," he admitted, "they do not have any effect on my being alone with you."
no subject
“You can thank me later,” he continued, leaning comfortably against Vyers’ head. “Preferably over lunch.” If the demon intended to shop he had undoubtedly brought money with him, money that could be put to far greater use. Though why he had brought the bottle with him too was certainly a mystery. Just what had he intended to use that for?

She straightened and plucked the bottle out of the demon's hands, rummaging around on a shelf for some glasses. "Look, I apologized for the potion thing, didn't I?" As she poured them both a glass, she scowled and muttered to herself. "You activate one demon's love life and suddenly you're a pariah..."
no subject
"What exactly did you want me to bring the wine for?" he asked, a good part of him hoping that Timon wouldn't want to try any of it. He shuddered to think of what the meerkat would be like drunk.
no subject
“Yeah, I’ll send you a birthday card.” He replied, waving his paw carelessly at the goddess. There had been more he’d planned to say but Vyers’ shudder had caught Timon’s attention. He raised a brow at the demon, though nothing more. Perhaps Vyers had been lucky in that case, the meerkat for once succeeding in not running his mouth. Or even two times as lucky for his lack of interest in wine, the meerkat far more disgusted by it than anything else. He stuck his tongue out as Urd poured two glasses.

She then glanced at Timon, arching an eyebrow. "As for you...I haven't been sneaking in on your private conversations, as promised. So you wanna fill me in on what you have been up to? From my perspective, you've been too quiet, with all those stupid locked comments and posts."
no subject
He took a sip from the glass and glanced curiously over at Timon. He hadn't heard about this.
no subject
“We can’t all have as exciting lives as you.” He told Urd. Timon liked to think he had behaved fairly well but a fight with Pumbaa and ‘friendly’ chat with Marluxia had told him otherwise. “Is it really that hard to believe I’ve just been at home?”
no subject
Narrowing her eyes meaningfully at Timon so he'd understand she was on to him, she drained her wineglass and turned to Vyers. "I saw that look, you know. I did say I had something for you, didn't I? Let me go get it."
Suddenly she was in Timon's line of site again, scowling. "Don't. Touch. Anything."
no subject
"Oh, by the way, I was wondering if you had any capes in stock--in red if possible."
no subject
However, regardless of his attitude, he would obey. It may not have appeared so but Timon was uncomfortable in Urd’s shop. Who knew how many potions she had sitting around, never mind what they could possibly do to him.
At the mention of capes, the meerkat sprang back to life and hit Vyers in the head. “Drapes!” He hastily corrected before the demon could intervene. “Do you have any drapes in stock? We’re thinking of redoing the living room. Maybe a few throw pillows, a little potpourri…”

"Anyway, I found this and figured you could use it." She unfurled it to reveal that it was deep burgundy waist coat, made from fine crushed velvet, the cuffs and collar black and trimmed with gold. The buttons were gold as well, shaped into little rosettes.
"I figured you're the only one around here that would wear something like this. You could wear it on a nice romantic get away with Gwen!"
no subject
He was about to repeat his request when Urd walked back into the room with the waistcoat. Stars in his eyes, all protest died in Vyers' throat as he set the glass of wine down and crossed the distance between himself and Urd. "Ah~! It is perfect!" he took the end in his hand, feeling it with barely retrained (and barely dignified) glee. "The material...! The cut...! The color...! Where in the world did you find this?"
no subject
Timon made a face, one of many sure to come, at the mention of Vyers’ romance life. It was one of many things he chose to try and ignore. The demons reaction to the gift included. As for the coat itself that Urd had presented, Timon supposed it was alright. He certainly did not mind the sight of it, unlike the rest of the demons wardrobe. The deep burgundy appealed to him almost as greatly as the shiny buttons. He continued to focus on the gold, watching the light reflect off the buttons while Vyers spoke.

The quality of it was incredible, he supposed, obvious bribe or no. And the potion incident was some time ago. "I suppose I can be convinced to let the matter go."
no subject
“Is your dignity really worth some snazzy coat?” the meerkat asked, looking about as impressed as he sounded. Vyers could certainly do better. Maybe if he kept her talking he could get something else out of the goddess her, something of more value to the two of them.

Well, Urd certainly wasn't in a good enough mood for him to try and push things in that direction anyway. But...
Ah, Timon wasn't distracted enough for him to ask about capes again, either.
Shopping trips were rather complicated when these two were involved, weren't they?
"...In any case, I assume tending to this shop is not all that you have been up to?" he asked, hoping to steer the conversation away from fashion for the time being.

The meerkats jaw dropped agape at Vyers’ change in subject, a sign that he had chosen to accept Urd’s gift. Normally Timon would have taken it upon himself to enlighten the demon of his mistake right there and then, but they would have the entire walk home for him to do so. Besides, Timon had as little intention of dampening Urd’s mood as Vyers had. Though knowing the meerkat he probably would anyway.
Looking away from the pair, he glanced around the shop and took in the unfamiliar sights and smells.
