A Doll's Aria [ Closed // Open ]
Character(s): Kanaria, whomever..
Content: A CHALLENGER APPEARS :B
Setting: Around Joutenheim gate
Time: Early week 28, high noon
Warnings: none.
The light shining into her box was too bright to be coming from micchan's room when she first cracked her box open. The doll rubbed at her eyes with a sound of protest and opened the lid of her box all the way, sitting up to look around, looking both astonished and alarmed. This was not where Kanaria was supposed to be. Her box was in micchan's bedroom always, without exception, and if her box was suddenly out here, then her medium must be going sick with worry!
The scene was pretty and all, and she did admire the visage of the two giants crossing their clubs, but once the initial shock wore off, she was alert and the box suddenly rose from the ground, a little burst of wind flattening the grass around her until she started floating a good three feet off of the ground. She didn't even notice the long line following the opposite shore of the bank, but even if she had paid attention to it, she wouldn'tve cared, she wasn't the type to be too terribly secretive, but no one even looked over to see her fly away, anyway.
"Micchan! I'm coming, kashira!!" She let out a determined squeak, and off she went! Pizzicato stayed hidden in a corner of the box while she zipped off, flying further inland while looking for cities on the horizon. "How did I get this far out, Pizzicato!? I didn't feel anyone move my box..The Alice Games are started, but why would someone move my box, kashira? Micchan will be going crazy without Kana!" Her brows knitted and she wiggled in her box with a slight whine to her voice. Kanaria didn't know how this could ever happen, why, or what the purpose was. She was tuning over ideas in her head, her mind going around and around to try and come up with some possible angle, but...really, she was just...clueless. What purpose would someone have in dropping a flying box out on the beach close to some city? None!!
She kept going and going, flying so quickly, but alas, the city never broke the horizon. Instead, after twenty minutes of flying perfectly straight, she came to nothing but ocean, ocean, and more ocean! Kanaria screeched to a halt, the forces of momentum and kinetic energy appearing to not apply to her, and then turned to her left, going north-bound with a determined pout on her lips.
The city was again coming into view, the mountainous domes of the establishment she woke up nearby, and she was almost directly above it when a ear-splitting scream suddenly echoed across the sky. "Th-they're trying to get rid of me, Pizzicato!! They put my box all the way out here to keep me from interfering in the games..!!" She lamented, her hands balling up in petite fists under her chin as the tears streamed down in a moment of self-pity. She sucked it up and continued to herself with a whine, determination and confidence returning to her voice quickly the further along she went. "They'll never get rid of me, I'm going to find them and help anyway, kashira!! Throwing my box all the way out here won't stop me, you'll see!"
Kanaria would spend a few more hours flying until again, she hit the ocean, but she kept on going until finally, it hit her that there would be no more land. If she hadn't come across any by now, then she never would..there were always speckles of islands, birds sitting on the water, something signifying some kind of life nearby..planes made long trips like these in hours!! So...with a defeated sigh, the little porcelain doll slumped, arms hanging over the lip of her box as she carried on to herself. "Micchan will be devastated without me, I promised I would never leave her or stop moving, but here I am already..no one knew about me other than the dolls, so why would they throw me out here?
...." She let out a whine of a groan when something dawned on her, drawing it out for effect as her box turned around and flew back for the city. "Where is 'here' even at, kashira? This can't be an N-Field, I'd have to be awake to enter one.. I know! I'll use my great espionage skills to sneak in and find out inside the city! Pizzicato, you fly on ahead and look around the entrance. I don't see any cracks in the wall, kashira"
By this time, she was some dozen feet away from the Joutenheim gate again. And fancying herself a great spy, she landed her box, hopped out, and Pizzicato shot up to hover above her head, lingering for a second before darting ahead, high above the line. While Pizzicato got a look around, Kanaria stayed where she was, pulling a set of binoculars out of her box. "Heh heh, they think leaving me here in a place like this will stump me? I'll find my way out and be back in time for Detective Kun-Kun, kashira!" With a sly grin, the Rozen Maiden crept closer, darting behind tufts of reeds, large boulders, and anyone that was still asleep.
She made herself comfortable behind one boulder in particular, peeking around it with her binoculars. "Hmm...they're making a line to that gate, so it must be the only way in. I don't see anything small trying to get in any other w--" She heard a very loud, very obnoxious 'ribbit,' and Kanaria suddenly went rigid. She saw a giant toad on top of a nearby, smaller rock, staring right at her from the side. It's weird yellow eyes looked creepy and crooked, and never blinked, it's skin was slimy and covered in lumps, it was fat, a hideous shade of green-brown, and sounded like it was about to 'ribbit' her ear off--EW IT LICKED IT'S EYEBALL!!
That was all it took, and there was another high-pitched scream of terror, and she ran away just as fast as her little legs would carry her!! She even kicked up a wicked cloud of dust behind her. "Get it away, get it away!!" She kept running, not paying attention to where she was going, and CRASH, right into the podium everyone was lining up in front of, causing the person that was first in line to stumble from the force of impact. "Oww..Nnh.." She whined and rubbed her nose, checking it for cracks when she heard a lot of angry voices directed at her. She froze and turned to look back at the line of angry people staring at her, and grinned sheepishly at first.
"I...I.." She would only stammer briefly, before she stood up straight with one hand on her hip, cocky as ever. "Now that I have your attention, I just want to kn--hey! I was talking, kashira!" She was rudely interrupted by some guy asking for her name. "K-Kanaria?" She stared, cluelessly, as he reached over, hanging a journal over the podium for her to carry. The first thing that she did, almost automatically, was reach for it, but he dropped it to soon and it landed on her head, bouncing off to land on the ground. The doll let out a groan and rubbed her head--the powers that be definitely do not like her--and reached down to grab the journal with a huff, puffing her cheeks up.
She just stormed into the gate, stomping almost, and Pizzicato appeared from where it was hovering at the top of the gate to follow all 2.9 feet of her into the bustling city, bouncing around her. She still seemed to be a bit steamed, still a little red in the face and pouting, but otherwise, she was no worse for the wear. She initially tried to dodge around the crowd, seeing all of these people walking around, but she spotted any number of stranger things than her walking around, so, to try and avoid any accidents, she made her merry way along in plain view, looking around for anything remotely familiar to her.

Though to be fair, Sora, was a bit old to play with him. So he reckoned it’s probably for the best anyway, seeing that there wouldn’t be any other way to interact with his friend, who kinda owns him for now. Woody looked up, he thought he spotted a something very short in the street. Quickly trying to hide behind a near by pedestal, Woody peaked out to see a porcelain doll walking openly out in the middle of street. His jaw dropped, out in the open like that? What was she thinking?!
Woody made sure no one else was watching before he called out to her, “HEY! Just what do you think you’re doing young lady?!” He was just about ready to rush over to her and pull her back into hiding.
no subject
"Who's there, kashira?" She didn't look afraid or anything of the sort, the voice sounded harmless enough, but no one walking around out in the open stopped to look at her as though they were addressing her. Not even some of the stranger citizens even cast her a second glance despite her curious stares. But then she saw this very small...toy looking very intensely in her direction.
"Y-you..! You talk!?" She seemed utterly shocked by the thought. WHAT WAS THIS MADNESS? Her eyes went from a curious and lost look to suddenly shocked. "How are you talking..!? Did Shinku send you, kashira!?"
no subject
Once Woody saw that this doll was surprised he could talk, he returned the surprised gaze back at her. This girl was a toy like him, wasn’t she? Well, he could say this madness could only happen in Paixao. Hold on, what if she’s… He gave a heavy sigh and face palms, “Oh great, not another ‘space ranger’.”
Woody peered through his plastic fingers and grumbled, “Lemme guess, you just came out of a box and are new to this whole ‘toy’ thing aren’t you?”
no subject
"No!" Her cheeks puffed with an annoyed expression when he called her a 'new toy.' Puh! "I'll have you know I'm the second Rozen Maiden, Kanaria!" She wasn't as big on the whole 'treat me like a lady' bit as Shinku was, but she still had her principles and pride!
"How are you even moving if Shinku didn't contribute any power?" Since he went off on a completely different train of thought, the smartest of the dolls deduced that he didn't know who Shinku even was.
no subject
“Just what are you goin’ on about? Who’s Shinku?” Woody spoke sounding a bit annoyed, “And what the heck is a Rozen Maiden?”
no subject
Kanaria just stared right back at him, as stubborn and determined as ever. She wasn't some delusional doll that just popped out of the box yesterday--she was easily at least a hundred years old. She wasn't some kind of strange 'space cadet' and she wasn't aware of any rules about not being seen.
But she seemed boastful about answering his questions about what a Rozen Maiden was. "We're seven almost perfect dolls made by our father, Rozen, destined to fight each other to become Alice, the perfect doll, kashira!" Of course, Kanaria had chosen not to fight, like Suisei-Seki, Shinku, and Hina-Ichigo. She loved her sisters, and didn't want to lose one..she didn't need to in order to keep her medium happy.
no subject
Shouting, Woody raised his arms in frustration, “WHAT?! You-you gotta be joking! You can’t just go around fightin’ other dolls, you could break!”
no subject
"Father was a Maestro, we don't break that easily, kashira!" She put her hands on her hips and turned her chin up with a prominent 'hmph.'
no subject
An exasperated sigh escaped Woody’s lips as he massaged his plastic temple, a low grumble echoed, “Look, it’s just… It’s not worth it, whatever it is. If you can’t break that easily, than you’re already ‘perfect’ then, don’t you realize that?!”
no subject
She looked down at him, her brows furrowed and her lower jaw sticking out a bit. Her arms would fold across her chest as she stared down at him. "That's why there's seven of us! Father could never make the perfect design, kashira." She looked off to the side for a second, but after the initial flare in her temper..something about her features softened. It wasn't terrible obvious, but it was at least noticeable enough to tell she loved her sisters. "We've already lost Sousei-Seki and Hina-Ichigo."
Even if it made father cry, there had to be another way. None of the sisters wanted to end up alone.
no subject
Well, now it really can’t escape Woody’s mind. He refused to look at her, trying to not imagine Kanaria being smashed and broken, or anyone else for that matter. Most importantly, this was reminding Woody way too much of someone he once loved that was taken away from him. Quite frankly, not only was this making him angry, but it also made him…
Turning around, Woody kept his arms folded, “Can’t change your mind, huh?” his voice almost sounded in pain when he spoke. Woody really did refuse to look at her, trying to keep his eyes leveled to the ground.
no subject
She grinned a bit, unfolding her arms with a tilt of her head. Overall, the expression was a little awkward. This...generally wasn't something she liked to talk about..the sentiment was generally understood between the dolls without having to be said outloud, but he wasn't in the group. He didn't know the rules or anything about what happened.
"Shinku, Suisei-Seki, Hina-Ichigo and I decided we don't want to fight. Micchan would be devastated if something happened to Kana, and I.." She trailed off a second with an empty, but somehow thoughtful smile before looking back at Woody. "Some of us want to, because it makes father cry if none of us become Alice, but we're still sisters, kashira."
no subject
“Well… As long as you have that then,” Woody spoke, his voice was kinda low though, it was all in the effort of trying to hide his feelings on this. Lets just hope this doll doesn’t have to fight in general. Woody glanced to the side for a bit before he spoke again, “Just try and be careful if you ever do, alright?”
no subject
But when he told her to be careful, this cocky bravado seemed to appear again, and Kanaria put her hands on her hips, her head tipping upwards with a confident grin. "There's no need to worry about Kana, kashira. I'm the smartest of all the dolls, nothing will stand in my way!"
And then a passing child, reckless and swinging its arms around all willy-nilly without even paying attention managed to hit Kanaria upside the head and knock her over. She face-planted into the sidewalk and the kid just kept on going after effectively ruining her attempt at bravado.
"Except getting knocked over, kashira.." She sighed with an exasperated groan and pushed herself back up to stand slowly, brushing herself off. There wouldn't be a single scratch on the poor doll; they were made for taking abuse. And Kanaria often got the worst of it from the most random things.
no subject
At the moment Kanaria was knocked down by a kid, Woody almost dropped down into toy mode, but luckily they didn’t seem to notice them. He just rolled his eyes at this, and without hesitation grabbed Kanaria to pull her closer to hide behind the pedestal. Looking out to make sure no one noticed. Woody glanced back over at her, helping her brush off some of the dirt, “From the looks of things it looks like you gotta be more careful in general. Especially around kids, ya can’t just walk around or be out in the open like that. Humans can’t know that you’re a walking, talking toy. It’s against the code! Don’t you know that?”
no subject
She fixed her jacket after the other doll helped her get all the dust off and gave him a quick look of appreciation for the effort. She'd hate to ruin the beautiful outfit father made her! And a maestro wasn't even around to fit it! But then he had to grab her and pull her further behind the steps. Her cheeks puffed in annoyance, but that was about all that happened. "I..I didn't see him coming! Anyone could've made that mistake, kashira!"
Her head cocked a bit, the little green light floating around beside her shoulder as he told her to hide what she was. "What are you talking about, what code? Micchan looked up Rozen Maidens on the internet, and we're legends among doll fanatics! Everyone that knows about us know we can talk.~"
no subject
Deciding to point out a final thing to Kanaria, the cowboy doll gestured, “Also, you shouldn’t believe everything you hear on the Internet. Most of it isn’t true.” Really, she should know this by now if she’s been around humans long enough.
no subject
"But this one's true. We really exist and we really talk. We have whole fan-clubs, kashira. Suisei-Seki even told me about it when Shinku powered down." Come to think of it, there really weren't any rules about humans never knowing about them being awake. Often times, they were nearby when Suisei-Seki and Sousei-Seki spoke with their masters, and they were always around Nori, Jun, and their mediums.
"..Which way is it to Japan? I need to return to Micchan!" She knew her medium had to be worried sick over everything suddenly being gone. She only hoped that Micchan didn't think Kanaria had decided to just leave her. She would never do that, Micchan was so nice to her, and spoiled her with all kinds of cute clothes and delicious treats. She looked down at her hand with a little frown, going to look at the ring on her hand while thinking of her medium.
OH BUT THEN. HERE, HAVE A SHRIEK, WOODY. Her ring was gone! It was always there after Micchan swore to her! SHe didn't break the promise, she was still awake and moving...WHY WAS HER RING GONE?
"W-where..my ring! It's gone, kashira!" She started to panic and ran back out for the street, heading back to the gate. Her box was still outside, and there were puddles she could make portals to the N-Field with. They didn't use any power recently, it wouldn't temporarily disappear, she wasn't put in a deep sleep, and Micchan would've had to break the promise to make the ring disappear..she would've lost her Rosa Mystica by now if that happened! What's going on!?
no subject
Though Woody was kinda glad he’s never been there, otherwise he’d be stuck in that museum. But man, Kanaria must have been a really expensive toy then if this was true. Woody knew right then and there that he had to keep a good eye on her then.
“I wish I could tell you, but so far no one’s has been able to get outta this place, I can’t even get back home myself,” Woody spoke softly, trying to sound sincere, “A lotta people are workin’ on trying to find a way outta here… So far nothin’ but a couple of levels in this large castle thou-”
The sudden shriek startled Woody. He jumped back a bit at the cry. He blinked at her distress on finding some kinda ring. And there she goes, back out into the street, he gave a cry out to her, “W-Wait! Kanaria! Don’t-”
A bunch of citizens passed by again, preventing Woody to run out to her without being noticed. He clutched to the side of pedestal, his hat tilting over a bit, almost covering his face. Quickly, Woody adjusted his hat and looked back out again, “Kanaria-!”
Woody’s mind rushed, think cowboy think! As soon as the crowd passed, he jumped out to hide by some statues, before he could finally see that it was clear enough to run over to Kanaria.
“What did I tell you about going out in the open like this? No one knows that you're a special doll here but me! The only people that are from Japan are you and some people who came from that gate-! And is this ring really that important right now?!” Woody harshly whispered, looking around to see if he can see the ring, at the same time trying to make sure there weren’t any people noticing them.
no subject
But that didn't matter, she shouldn't have to explain this to Woody anyway, because she should have a ring on her finger. Except she didn't have a ring. This was not good, and the source of Kanaria's panic. She didn't pay any attention to Woody trying to get her to stop, she just kept running as fast as she could for the gate once more, dodging through the crowd. She even gained a few admiring looks for her clothing, given her style of dress fit in well with the cookie-cutter citizens of Paixao.
But that wasn't important! She kept running when Woody caught up to her, in hysterics. Luckily for Woody, Kanaria wasn't a crybaby like Hina-Ichigo was. She didn't mean to, but she snapped at Woody for asking how important the ring was. He didn't know about what it symbolized, so it wasn't his fault, but..well, it meant the world to a Rozen Maiden, especially with the Alice Games started. The stakes were so high.
"I wouldn't be moving without my ring, kashira!!" She darted right out of the gate, dodging between a few people that were entering and startling the guard at the podium. Kanaria cut to the left to find the shrubs her box was hidden behind, flinging the top open.
no subject
This was out of panic of course. It was hard for the cowboy to even question it when she was constantly running away from him. Woody dodged here and there, still trying to hide from the view of humans. Rolling off to hide from behind a gate bar, to a rock, into the bush where Kanaria was headed.
Frankly, there was no time to check if someone saw Woody or not, he had to see where Kanaria went. As he immerged from the bush, he almost loosed his balance over the box she was opening. Woody breathed in and out, looking inside the thing with her. Adjusting his hat, wiping the invisible sweat off his forehead, the point was that he was out of breath. “Why… Why can’t you move without your ring?!” Woody breathed, a look of concern was now apparent on his face.
no subject
Kanaria had hopped right into the box, the little green light hovering around her bouncing around in a frenzy akin to the doll's. She sat on her ankles, staring at the little cloth doll before her with something that was mixed between a serious expression, and that of worry.
"Because, the ring forms a contract with my medium, if it's broken, I'll lose my Rosa Mystica." As it were, Woody was another toy, so she didn't mind sharing the information with him. She didn't have a problem telling humans the rules of her game either, but the Rozen Maidens typically hung around their medium, or the mediums of others dolls on occasion, so there was nothing to explain.
"Are you coming?" She stared at Woody, waiting to see if he would jump in. Other toys in the N-Field wasn't a problem with her. She didn't have official business to attend to, as she doubted Suigin Tou or Bara Suishou would be there by this point, so it should be safe.
no subject
Breathing in, once Woody was asked whether he was coming, he glanced side to side again to see if anyone was watching. Without a word, Woody climbed into the box with her. “Where are we going?” he asked, thinking that maybe she wanted to talk in the box in private or something.
no subject
And away they went! The river near the gate wasn't far from here, and there were some still parts she could use to open a portal to the N-Field. "We're leaving, kashira!" She sounded so sure of herself when this was said. But hey, when you had mad 1337 skills like Kanaria, it was..possible? Who knew, but the box, with its lid up, flew right for the reeds where some shallow puddles were.
Oh ho, and poor Woody, if he wasn't holding on, he just might fly out of the base of the box and hit the lid of it. There were neither guarantees nor seat belts, and when the puddle Kanaria was aiming for lit up like a blue floursecent light? All bets were off. The box nosedived for the lit puddle, and in a flash, Paixao was left behind. Now, there was nothing but blackness, but it was, somehow, lit.
For as far as the eye could see, there were doors, only white, marble, double-doors floating around everywhere. There was no plane for them to sit on, no rhyme or reason. Only floating doors. "T-They're all white!! What's going on, what is this place, kashira!? I..Micchan! Why are they all the same!?"
no subject
Into the nosedive, Woody clung onto Kanaria, he swear he could feel his eyelids clicking around as they gained speed. As soon as they stopped, Woody fell back over backwards again, the top of his hat now attempting to keep him balanced upside down and over to the side box. Groaning, he got up from his position, adjusting his hat. Trying to establish a steadiness Woody crawled over and kneeled to sit back up. His head swayed back and forth in complete dizziness.
Barely comprehending words or sentences right now, Woody held his head as he tried to decipher what Kanaria was saying, “Wha… What are you talking about?”
no subject
There were doors. Just. Doors, of all types, floating around. They were all white double-doors with golden handles. That's it. No unique embroidery, nothing. There were usually wooden doors, glass doors, metal doors with different distinguishing markings on them to help her get her bearings, but..What was going on!?
"All of the doors, they're only white!" Kanara was on edge, porcelain hands holding tightly to the edge of the box as she sat on her ankles and knees, looking around the N-Field with an intense expression. Usually she had some kind of plan, she had something ready just in case, a clever way out or some excuse, but...this was entirely unexpected. She'd never encountered this before..anything like this, at all. No strange city, no way to get to japan to be with her sisters, nothing. "There's something wrong with this place, kashira. I've never seen this."

Woody looked around to Kanaria as she started to say that something was wrong with this place. Well certainly something was wrong with this place, for one thing they’re suppose to be in one huge castle and Paixao was just one of the supposed levels in this whole place. Not only that, now they’re hovering in some box surrounded by a bunch of doors. Woody turned to Kanaria somewhat irritated, “Will you just tell me what’s going on here?! What with all these doors?”

She just kinda stared, the intensity turning to a determined focus. What could she do? This place, Paixao, wasn't an N-Field, because she was able to get into this one. It might be a dream, but she would have remembered going into a person's dream world, and there was a thirty minute limit.. This place had to be real, she didn't want to face the idea of never being able to escape because she was forever trapped in a dream. But these doors..
Think, Kanaria, think.. She would never give up. She would find a way.
The box hovered close to one of the doors, and she stared at it, looking either way at the other doors briefly. There were no subtle differences in any of them. "This is an N-Field." She looked down at the other doll expectantly. Shouldn't he know this? Shinku usually doesn't wake dolls unless she needed them for some reason or other, which typically entailed bringing them to an N-Field in the past.
But when he did ask, her confidence kicked in. She had answers for these questions, at least, so she informed Woody of what she knew with a casual, but subtly proud tone of voice. "These doors lead to various exits, Kashira. Usually the doors reflect the are the doors lead to."

Once the words were spoken, Woody breathed a bit making mental note to remember what an N-Field was, which was this place apparently. Glancing at the doors, these all had different exits? Woody glanced around at them, how did she do this? Was it true that she really was more than just a special doll, but something entirely different and enchanted from what he is?
Woody adjusted himself to get a better look at Kanaria, “Wow… You really are something special if you can do all this,” He said in an almost subtle amazement, he really was impressed that he was proved wrong about something like this. Apparently there was a lot more out there than he can ever imagine. Looking back at all the doors, Woody rubbed his plastic chin, “Maybe we should try out one of the doors then if they lead somewhere…”

She looked down at Woody when he spoke up, then at one of the various doors floating. "They'll all take us to the same place, though." The box floated to a random door, staring at the heavy marble structure. It was worth a try, though.

Woody rubbed his plastic chin in thought, trying to distinguish one over the other, but it was rather hard since they all looked alike. Looks like he’ll have to give a guess. Woody pointed at a random one on the right of them, “How ‘bout we try that one?”
no subject
"Of course it will! There's no such thing as a door that leads nowhere." She perked up with a little grin, looking to where he pointed. "Then we'll try that one, kashira!" The box floated over to the mentioned door and she reached to push the door open. The box then flew into the bright light, fading away once they passed the threshold, revealing a...bedroom?
The front half of her box poked out, looking either way around the one and only Vyers' bedroom. Seems they were coming out through the vanity mirror.

“Who lives here?” the cowboy doll asked, hoping that Kanaria will be the only one that could possibly give an answer.

He breathed a sigh of relief, happy to finally get a little quiet time to himself, but just as soon as he got himself settled, the sound of unfamiliar voices in his bedroom caught his attention. Vyers immediately sat up straighter in the tub and narrowed his eyes at the door, suspicious, but mostly annoyed by the interruption. He grumbled as he got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around himself, and he walked to the door, opening it a fraction to see just who it was who was trespassing in his home.
"Dolls?" he whispered to himself. They must have been enchanted, or at least possessed. It wasn't entirely a surprising sight--there were plenty of demons out there who took on doll-like shapes--but it certainly hadn't been expected. How had they even gotten in here? And why were they in his room?

"I don't know.." She looked around, the mirror glowing behind her for a few moments longer. That fluorescent blue light faded quickly, allowing Kanaria to get a better view of the quite nicely decorated interior. "But they have excellent taste, kashia.~" There was that look again. That look of intrigue. Maybe she could live here?~
She continued to float mid-air in her box with Woody, looking around with an alert and harmlessly devious look on her face.~

What was possibly worse is if they were caught, Woody couldn’t handle knowing already that so many knew that he was a walking talking toy. He certainly didn’t trust Kanaria to keep her mouth shut either.
“Alright, maybe if we go back through the mirror thing with this box we can go back to that place with all those doors,” Woody said contemplating another possibility of finding someplace for them.

"Toys," the cowboy had said. So Vyers was correct after all! And it seemed they had managed to get in through one of his mirrors somehow. How very strange indeed! And... rather disconcerting. He turned to stare at the mirror in the bathroom suspiciously. Was there a possibility someone might try to intrude upon him in this way during an even more inconvenient time?
Vyers shuddered. Maybe he would start covering some of the mirrors from now on when he went to take a bath.
It didn't take very long for him to turn his attention back onto the conversation the two were having. What was this about doors? What sort of power did that box they were floating in have? Ah, now the two had him curious! Vyers leaned forward a little, the door opening a little bit more with him.

But, she thought about leaving. She would have to anyway, but the thought of trying all of those doors, one-by-one was imposing. ...If it had to be done, it wouldn't hinder her, though! She'd keep trying until she found the way out, no matter how long it took! "Alright, we'll find the way out of here, kashira! No matter how long it takes, Kana never gives up!"
She sighed and looked around one last time, already missing the elaborate and elegant decor, and that creeper by the doo-- ....!! Creeper by the door!? Kanaria gasped. The great infiltrator had been spotted! Oh no!!
....Wait! She totally meant for this to happen!! "So, you've finally noticed the great Kana has easily infiltrated your home!" Bravado, go!

Woody folded his arms, giving a nod. He knew she’d be determined, and by golly he wanted to get out of here as much as she did. “Well let’s get a crackin’ then, and head ou-”
Noticing the guy by the door, Woody gasped with her, they’ve been caught! Right when he was about to drop to toy mode, Kanaria opened her big mouth. “KANARIA!” Woody growled through his teeth, he gave an aggravated sigh and slapped his plastic forehead. Not again!

Vyers stumbled over his words a bit, not having expected to be noticed, and quickly made a grab for the door handle, positioning himself behind the door so as to make sure only his head could be seen. "How did you get in here?!" was all he could think of to say.
He had yet to decide whether or not this was a silly question, since they mentioned they came through a mirror he still didn't know exactly how that worked.

"W-what!?" She faltered when Woody yelled, suddenly meek after her display of confidence and bravado towards Vyers. There was a moment's pause as she remembered Woody's personal rules about not being seen. "Oh!" .....WHOOPS.
"....We came in through your dreams!" Yeah! Leave it to Kanaria to come up with an AWESOME COVER.

However, once Kanaria mentioned that they were part of a dream sequence, Woody could only return the blank stare at her. Is she serious? Really? DREAMS? Well… This is probably as good as a cover as it can get.
“Ah… Right! This is uh… This is only a dreeeeam!” Woody said waving his plastic fingers trying to look mysterious, “We are your uh… Your conscious! I’m the angel side, and she’s the devil side.” He gestured pointing his thumb at Kanaria, knowing that she was gonna object he muttered under his breathe to her, “Just go with it.”
no subject
"You are aware that that sort of characterization of consciouses does not fit quite as well when the one you speak with is a devil himself?" he asked them after a moment. Technically, Vyers saw many things wrong with that metaphor on the whole but that was a long argument that was best not gotten into right now. Who knew how long we would be stuck in narrative if we did?

"...." Her face deadpanned at Vyers as he claimed to be a devil. What was wrong with him? The Japanese can be superstitious, but that was ridiculous. None the less! It didn't look like it was working..so time to divert the subject and skip over details!
"If you're a devil, then what are you doing in this nice house, using someone's bathroom, kashira!?" Her face was reminiscent of a scolding mother.

Holding a plastic finger up accusingly at the guy, Woody exclaimed, “Plus what kinda devil walks around in just a towel? You outta be ashamed sir! You’re no devil, you’re just a wannabe!” He scoffed at him. Honestly it’s bad enough he had to deal with delusional toys before, but grown men? That’s pathetic.

"How insulting... It is incredibly rude to barge into someone's home like this and then state what the master of the house is and is not."
no subject
"We didn't barge in, kashira! We..Ah.." She scratched at her little porcelain cheek--she was caught, the jig was up and she knew it. "I got kinda lost."

The two's explanation admittedly didn't help Vyers understand the explanation very well. How could one get lost and end up in someone's bedroom? He could understand ending up in the building somehow, but to go so far? Although they had mentioned that they had used the mirror, and Vyers was not sure exactly how that worked. It felt odd to have them leave with so paltry an explanation, but as the cowboy had said, they had interrupted his bath... "Very well then," he said with a quiet 'hmph.' "You may be on your way. Should you attempt to visit again, I suggest you use the door."
