time to have some fun [Open]

Character(s): Everyone who wants to be!
Content: An epic game of tag
Setting: The park
Time: Forward dated to Week 29

Xion waited eagerly at the park with Hope. The post on the message board got a lot of replies, even by people she didn't know. In some ways, she was a little nervous... but mostly excited. This was new, and different, and she couldn't wait to see how playing a game actually went.

[ooc: Ok, so this is mostly a free-for-all, but there are a few rules. One, first post will be a ~mingle~ thread. If you want to talk to someone, do so there! (It might be helpful to note if it's a private conversation, or an open one).

Second, for every new person that is 'it,' we'll start a new tag thread. So, say Hope tags Xion- we'll move from the previous thread and Xion would start a new one. Make sense? There's not really a posting order going, just tag (haha) when your character is being chased, or when you feel like it, or whatever.

Third, action tags are allowed! They are not required, but if it's easier then go ahead.

If you show up late, don't worry about it! It's tag. Seriously, join and leave whenever you want.]

Riku's head was still lowered to try to look at her. There was a slight edge to his voice, but considering what he'd just been told, who wouldn't? "Last I checked, the only time Roxas would have a girl's voice is if he got hit below the belt. Was Vexen having an off day? 'Cause if I didn't know better, you have someone else's voice." That doesn't look like Roxas's nose, either. I don't know... Riku never did study Roxas's face. That being said, despite Xion's build and in addition to the voice, something about the individual felt female and didn't match up to what few visual cues he was getting.

A replica whose memories affect their appearance. That's a new one. Riku continued to listen, eyes narrowed, until the last thing she said, at which point he gave her a hint of a befuddled expression.

That expression vanished the very moment she pulled off the hood. He stood up immediately, taking a step back. As every memory of Sora that didn't add up rushed into his mind, his eyes went wide. "It was you!" His right hand began to close over something that wasn't there as his eyes flicked over her face and body. Disbelief and frustration warred on his face. "You were the one talking to Axel! YOU were the one who opened up the dark corridor!!!" After a beat, his features softened, and the grip on something ready at his call relaxed. He sighed.

Riku sat back down, arms laid on his parted knees. He looked at the ground.

"...It was you. All along." A palm went to hold his forehead.

Riku looked at her for a second, then looked back to the ground. "Have done what? There's stuff I wouldn't have done if I knew, too. There's... not much that can be done about it now." After a moment, Riku looked back to her, eyes narrowed. She's from the Organization. Can any of this be trusted? ...Yes. They just lost the best way to turn me and Sora on each other. And this is in plain sight. Not a chance there's an ambush here.

A copy of Roxas with Kairi's voice and Sora's body. And his memories combined with ones unique to her. What a mess.

"...You said you were a part of the Organization. And you ran off, like Roxas. Did they drag you back too? You've got to know they're bad news by now. Why are you still hanging with that crowd?"

Riku studied the palm of his hand as if it would tell him how to fix things with Sora. After a thoughtful moment, he finally spoke. "I wouldn't be so sure that'd be better. ...My last experience with a replica was no joyride. I might've needed that explanation first." He didn't want to say that he might have been aggressive had he encountered her somewhere else, but it was a very real possibility.

...She's definitely a she. By now he was convinced.

"Yeah." He finally made eye contact again. "Roxas left the Organization. He was convinced the way to meet Sora was by freeing Kingdom Hearts. But the Organization would've wiped him out if he tried. Roxas still had Sora's memories. I couldn't let that happen."

There was a slight sigh. "Yeah. I did." Riku looked up and across the park at nothing. He did what he had to so that Sora could awaken, at any cost. The young man was lucky he regained his true form and knew it. The same blindfold he'd used during that fight was in his pocket, leftover from when he recently fought Sora

Riku's eyes suddenly narrowed slightly, and he cocked his head ever so slightly. There was something he knew was off. It actually felt like he was forgetting something, like there was something at the tip of his tongue. He looked up at Paixao's fake sky.

"Hm," Riku hummed at the thanks. He wasn't so sure he'd thanks him if she knew the events that transpired next, but as a member of the Organization, he didn't trust her enough to explain that.

He nodded slightly at the first question. "I'd've done better trying to talk to a mad rhino. He wasn't going to turn back. Angry didn't begin to describe the guy. He said he had to meet Sora because..." And suddenly Riku paused with an odd expression. "...He wanted to meet his other." However, he didn't sound so sure, like that wasn't quite right.

Riku's voice softened. "...If he wanted to meet Sora, why didn't I just take him? It'd've been easy. He was so angry..." There was another pause, and he reached up to hold the bridge of his nose. "What was he going to do? Why couldn't I just bring him? Why can't I...?" He glanced up to Xion. ...She's right.

So there are gaps in my memory.

Riku glanced to her hand at her touch, completely neutral to it. "If what you said ab--"

The teen was suddenly cut short. It felt like something in his head was being torn apart and rearranged. He leaned forward, holding his hand just short of touching his face, as if his own touch would make it worse. His fingers gnarled by pain, he grimaced and grunted. Riku's other hand went to his chest and he slid from the bench to his knees. Emotions flooded his heart. Determination. Hope. Concern. And sadness.

WHAT DID SHE DO?!

The pain subsided, and Riku opened his eyes, just to stare past the ground a moment, seeing nothing that existed beyond his own mind.

Upon familiar sand Riku knelt. The sun still felt warm against his black coat and blindfold. There was a girl in his arms, murmuring. ...What had she said? She sounded just like Kairi. She felt about as light, too. Riku didn't need to use dark senses to tell her body must have looked delicate. ...Her voice sounded worried. He sensed her expression mirrored this. A subtle sensation let him know the last time they met her hair was short. That same type of feeling let him know her bangs were in her face. Riku could feel the subtle touch of her hair against his glove as he brushed it gently away from her eyes. There was a sound! ..Someone was close by. ...Who?

Riku blinked, finding himself away from that beach. His heart pounded. As the youth turned back to the replica, his hand went into his pocket, slowly fingering the blindfold before pulling it out. Looking at her as if he couldn't place where he'd seen her last, he slowly put on the blindfold.

"...Xion?"

Riku slowly stood, cocking his head slightly at her as if he weren't wearing the blindfold at all. "I was with you... On a beach. A year ago." He left it at that, looking thoughtful as he sat down.

He may not have seen the nod, but he knew she did. Riku "looked" out at the rest of the park. "Yeah."

"...All this time I thought it was Sora with the scrambled memories. I guess he wasn't the only one." He turned to face her again. "You're right about what you said. When I can't see you, you seem different." Riku paused, still facing her. The darkness of shadows on her told Riku she had short hair, and that she was petit. He could sense the general shape of her face, and that it was different than Sora's. The features, however... Those were harder to tell. "You sound like Kairi. But you look a lot like her, too, don't you."

Seeing and sensing were very different things. That being said, what he could tell from her face wasn't much. It had taken him a while for him to learn to make out expressions on most people. He couldn't sense color, and fine details were muddled, particularly on Xion. Riku would have assumed she had indigo eyes and red hair. And even then, since he'd used his own eyes to see her, he still got an occasional feeling of Sora being there. (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a360/Rebmakash/MiscArt/xionrikusvision.png)

"You should. To Sora, she's someone very special." Something felt very familiar about those words. Still, he smirked a bit. "I wouldn't have come today if it weren't for her. She's around."

"You would know that, wouldn't you?" After all, she did say that some of Sora's strongest memories were of Kairi. Riku stood, offering her and hand to get to her feet.

"It wasn't fair." He "looked" briefly away and then back at her. "If Sora's awake and you were mostly made up of his memories, and everyone forgot you... I can guess what you did." There was the subtlest hint of a nod.

Riku glanced away. "Put in the same situation, it wouldn't be easy for me, either. I had to set some things right once, too. Only difference is that I had myself to blame." He looked back to her after a moment, then put a hand on her shoulder.

"If I was going to forget all this, then I guess there's one thing I never got to do, regardless of where you ended up." He looked into her eyes, his tone smooth and as sincere as ever. "...Thank you."
