Where's the major dodo when you need him... [Completed]
Character(s): Kiara and Duma, anyone to come across them
Content: A lost lioness just looking for herboyfriend rather close friend and trying to avoid the hairless, tailless monkeys. One with wings and who speaks in silence is the exception.
Setting: Nifelheim, and its inner area nearby the outer area of Promenade Terrace. Advancing into the center of the city.
Time: Morning-afternoon, Wednesday, week2
Warnings: None (yet)
If only Zazu was around, then she could very well get through this place a lot easier. She had made her way through the line, ignoring the humans completely. They seemed to either not see her, or decide they didn't want to provoke a lion into getting angry with them. She had reached the beginning of the line at the silvery-iced gates with little to no difficulty, just a bit of timidness and slow pace on her half. Kiara still had no idea where she was, even after sitting out in the grass and observing the people for long periods of time until she had decided to get up after sleeping only a little.
"Name," came from above her, just as she was about to pass through, and she jumped with a quiet squeak. Peeking up at the person there, she flattened her ears back in a sort of submissive manner. "Wh-what?" she was just confused, before the person saw what she was. "Another one," he mumbled, before turning and rummaging through his pile. Pulling out a soft-pink rock with a black vine attached to it, he leaned over and put it around her neck. "Name?" he asked, seeming patient as he waited to write down her name.
"Kiara..." she said puzzledly, staring at the weird rock around her neck now. "It's a journal," he explained, sounding bored. This was the millionth--he was exagerating, of course--lion he saw this damned week or so. "You talk into the microphone... no, that thing..." Kiara had nosed it open at her paws, and was examining it in line much to others' dismay. "The black thing, cat." She looked insulted, but nodded that she understood. "And it puts it in there... have fun. Welcome to Paixao, blahblah... name?" he turned to the next person after explaining things to Kiara, and the lioness had to glare a little at him.
She got no response to it.
Pouting a bit, she closed the journal with her nose and carried it with her into the city, head lowered and ears up so she could listen to her surroundings. There were more of the furless baboons in here, and she wasn't sure what was going on... they all looked the same, minus the few exceptions... It was kind of weird. So she headed deeper in, sticking close to fake foliage despite her comfort there also being limited. This place was just weird...
But the thing that gave her the joo-nal had seen more lions other than her, so her hopes were up. Maybe someone she knew--Kovu? she hoped--would be here... so she just sniffed and listened, eyes trained for whatever might help her.
[Although this thread is completed, it is in need of brief summary between it and the next. That'll... uh. Come later.]

The lion cannot hurt him, however, and with that thought he lowers himself to the ground. Wincing as the soles of his feet touch the ground. He wonders when he will ever get used to walking upon the soiled ground. Duma lands right in front of the lion and looks at it, her, gently but with curiosity. He hopes that she is not hungry.
no subject
Though had to when you looked at something bigger than you. She wasn't quite sure why, but she was curious of this ... person. She didn't quite know they were called humans just yet, and still figured they were distant relatives of Rafiki. "...?" after a bit of time, the princess of Pride Rock seems to note the curiousity, giving him a quizical look.
no subject
Realizing that him standing upright is hardly polite when he is addressing someone on four limbs, Duma kneels on one knee and maintains his gaze upon the lioness. It would be much harder to escape if she decides to attack him now, but he trusts that she wouldn't.
no subject
No, Duma doesn't seem like he is going to hurt her, so she won't run around. Though, her eyes do linger curiously on the appendages she had not seen previously that are attached to him. She seems on the verge of saying something--'those're really big'--before she smiles a little. "...hi?"
Best greeting ever, Kiara. Much better than her original thoughts, but...
no subject
It seems that she is no mere lioness, however, a royalty at the very least. Duma gives her a nod in reply to her greeting. It might not be the best one she plucked out of her thoughts, but Duma could hear even those she had not said anyway.
Explaining to her about his wings would be nice, but the concept of angels is rather complicated even when explained with words. Duma opts for silence.
no subject
"..." deciding finally to be the child her parents brought her up to be, she dips her head curtly before bringing it up with a cheerful, if not a still somewhat confused, smile. "That was rude. My name's Kiara."
no subject
Duma nods and smiles wider instead. He hopes she would not be offended by his muteness. Bringing his hands over his chest, he looks right into her eyes. Duma, he tells her without a voice, I am Duma, angel of silence.
no subject
"Have you seen any other lions around here, Duma?" The first good question she has to ask. She was hunting for any of her friends, primarily Kovu... and wanted to know if this person with wings had seen any... he could've been flying around and seeing them... If not, she felt safe here with him anyways... He didn't look like he'd decide to randomly attack her, so perhaps she'd make a friend.
no subject
He does not think he has seen any other lion before her in this strange world named Paixao. And yet... he did remember seeing a lion on the network once. Flipping open his perfectly-white journal, he tries to find the entry as quickly as possible so she would not think that he had decided to ignore her question.
Finding the entry (http://fuzzymaraca.livejournal.com/) much sooner than expected, Duma's lips upturn into a smile again while he shows his journal to Kiara. He hopes that it is what she is looking for as Duma realizes how he has been very unhelpful to the people who came to him. It is nice to feel as if you have helped, after all.
no subject
When he takes out his journal, Kiara watches with curiousity, tilting her head upwards to try and peek over the top of it as he seems to be looking for something. These joo-nals were a rather curious thing, really. They could record her voice, and now they could apparently do more.
Seeing the smile, the lioness shifts a little on her haunches as though excited, though keeps herself calm with her light smile across her face. However, when she sees the strange and poorly drawn fluffball, her ears shoot up to the highest point of her head and she restrains a sort of squeal that may come out. "Kovu! Thank you, Duma!" She fully stood, and seemed to be restraining the urge to pounce the angel.

Standing up to his full height, Duma points to the center of the city away from the gate. This Kovu seems to be someone familiar to Kiara, and finding a lion in this city full of blonde blue-eyed people should not be hard. They might never find him if they were to stay here forever, however, so they should start searching now.
no subject
"All right then. Shall we go?" the prinecss of the Pride Lands, which are no where near Paixao so it honestly didn't matter, seemed to understand that Duma was helping, and decided... for what it was worth, if he ever needed anything, Kiara would be there to help. Though it probably wasn't much; she was a lion in a world full of two-legged creatures who could very well be more reliable than she.
no subject
In reply to her suggestion, Duma starts walking 'that way' while gesturing for her to follow. It will perhaps be a very long time still before he gets used to feeling the horribly rough ground below the soles of his feet, but he is trying his best not to grimace at every step he takes. He wonders if he will be allowed to walk just a breath above the ground again once he is welcomed back to the Silver City. He wonders if he will ever be allowed back in the Silver City. He wonders if the soles of his feet will ever heal.
no subject
She soon notices what grimaces do make their way past Duma's features, and frowns a little with her ears drooping. For a couple of minutes, she doesn't say anything, as if trying to figure out what it might be that's causing the problem... before figuring it out with the timing of the grimaces. "Duma? If your feet are hurt, I could carry you?" she is smaller, but that's only in full-height. And contrary to what her father and many others believed, Kiara was stronger than she looked. The whole lion thing helped.
no subject
And yet, Duma will walk, the way he should now that he is exiled. Duma will not speak, and he will still keep silent. He is not sure he has a good enough reason for it, but he knows that he still longing for redemption, even though innocence once lost can never be regained. Slowly, Duma shakes his head at Kiara's suggestion. An admirable princess, he muses, unlike most people with power. Duma gives Kiara a smile and tries to grimace less.
no subject
Giving a nod to the shake of his head and smile, and the princess simply walks alongside him, looking like some tamed creature compaired to what she actually was. If he had his reasons, she would not argue with him. She merely smiles a bit to him while walking, ears and eyes alert now, nose notably twitching every once in a while.
no subject
Noticing a restaurant in front of them, Duma is suddenly reminded that his newfound company is capable of hunger unlike him. Stopping in his tracks, Duma looks at Kiara and then to a certain Paixaoan. Perhaps Kiara is hungry?
no subject
When he stops, the lioness peeks up towards him and flicks her ears curiously, before looking towards the restraunt curiously. She sniffs, before flicking her ears again. Food? Interesting smelling, though it causes no rumbles yet. She shakes her head lightly, and smiles up towards the angel of silence. She will stay quiet unless she has to, she has decided.
no subject
It is strange how people often raises the volume of his voice when they speak to him, even though he can hear them perfectly whether or not he can speak. In fact, he rather thinks that you listen better when you are not speaking.
no subject
He also didn't look at her weirdly when he saw her, more with just simple curiousity. Nor did he want to hurt her, which she feared might've happened with the weird monkeys. They didn't look friendly to her, at least... most of them. So she simply trotted along after the angel, tail flicking contentedly. One did not need to speak to enjoy another's company, either.
no subject
He reaches out for a tiny crystal flower tinted with red, admiring it for a moment before turning to Kiara with a smile. He bends the stalk a little, placing it just above her left ear. Standing up, he smiles down at the lioness. The flower looks beautiful on her, but he thinks that she needs a crown. She is a princess, after all.
no subject
However, when he places the crystal flower behind her ear, Kiara tilts her head a bit more as though it'll help, keeping her ear still. It doesn't really help her to see it, but she'd seen it before he placed it there, so she wasn't too bothered by it. Eyes going back to Duma, they close and she smiles up at him, tail flicking back and forth. She did so enjoy Duma, he wasn't like those weird monkeys. So, she thus gave him his own catagory of creature, as though calling him one of those weird, hairless monkeys was an insult. Really it was, in a way.

Turning to the man, Duma nods, giving him a brief smile and flicking his wings a little in greeting. The man seems a little scared and worried about something, but Duma knows that he is a good man; Duma likes him already. Noticing Kiara beside him, Duma realizes that the man is probably scared of the lioness even though she actually would not try to hurt even a single hair from either of them.
Smiling fondly at the man, Duma kneels to Kiara's height and strokes the side of Kiara's face, sparing a glance to Seiichirou to show him that she is not dangerous. It is only misunderstanding that makes animals dangerous to humans, and vice versa, of course.
no subject
She turns her head when she hears the new man, and seems a little skittish for a moment, before deciding... if she were in her home, she would have to play ambassador of some form with her parents. Besides, the angel wouldn't let anything happen to her. So she shifts around to face the new man easier, tilting her head into the sudden stroke to the side of her face... and decides that if anyone did it again, she would've liked it.
"Hello there, sir... can we help you?" she asks in a light voice, keeping her head tilted in that curious animal way(™). Kiara doesn't wish to scare the man, as he seems to be acting in a similar manner she had when she fist arrived in the land of Paixao... She could relate quite well.

He crosses his arms in front of his chest, not as a gesture of superiority but to signal that he will patiently wait while the two of them converse. Duma does not really mind the sound of people amiably chatting; he finds it quite pleasant.
His amused smile grows a little wider as he realizes how strangely ironic it is that Kiara is the one able to speak to Seiichirou whereas Duma who appears more humanoid cannot. Then again, Duma can speak, and he probably is allowed to, now that he has been exiled. He saves that thought for later, as it always brings painful feelings which are not suitable for first meetings.

She wasn't of a world that ever had humans in it, where all animals communicated together. "I'm Kiara! This is Duma," she lifted a paw towards the angel, before setting it down again and opening her rusty-brown eyes to look at Seichiro once more with that smile still there. "What can we help you with? You started to say something," she says sweetly, ears perking up but somehow never disturbing the crystalline flower that sat on her head.

He nods in agreement to Kiara's offer for help. The man is a good one, Duma will be willing to help him with anything he could. Despite his lack of speech, Duma can actually do quite useful things if people would just ask.
Duma leaves it to Kiara to convince the man that he is not dreaming. It might be good to tell him that dreams are actually real too, but Duma figures that it is not necessary; it would just make the poor man even more confused.
no subject
She knows that she is not in a dream; if she was, she was pretty certain that she would've woken up by now... Besides, falling asleep was definitely not one of her plans when she wanted to go look for Kovu. "Even if it's a dream... It's nice to meet you, sir!" she said happily to him, tilting her head to the side and curiously observing the two of them. Humans, huh? Hm.

Duma nods and gives Seiichirou a sad smile. The man must love his wife and daughter very much. It must be hard to know that he needs to be away from them so that they would be safe. Duma knows who Seiichirou is, and what he was fated to do. He finds it rather sad that the man's story has already been written for him. Then again, maybe not. Duma wonders why the man is here and not in Tokyo where he should be. You should not be here, his words reach Seiichirou's mind without needing a voice to carry them.
no subject
"Do you have anything that smells like them with you? I'm not very good at tracking, but I can see if I can smell them out if you'd like," she offers, just as she had offered to carry Duma on her back. She is a selfless creature, and frowns a little at the thought of Seiichirou being seperated from those he cares about. Kiara too is seperated from her loved one's, but there was a chance two of them were in Paixao...

And yet, Seiichirou seems to have not heard Duma's statement, which was meant more as a question. It is even rarer to see someone with such power be content with the ordinary life of a common happy family. You should not be here, he repeats with no sign of irritation, but I am glad to have met you nonetheless.
no subject
"They're not nearby, but I suppose you'd know that..." she turns somewhat to look off to the side, ears flicking for a moment and she takes a few steps away. She sniffs around again, testing at the artificial air. "I am too," she says happily, seeming to of caught on quickly to Duma's method of communication. It's amusing how quickly she did, too.

And yet, Duma is reminded of how Lucifer is also here and unable to leave. Perhaps he is not that much of a failure. After all, even the First of the Fallen is also stuck in this place, so whoever brought all these people here must truly be someone with magnificent power or wit. Duma secretly hopes that it is the former; fools with too much power are easier to handle than someone with enough wit to control such fools.

His wife wasn't here, at least... in this area. Kiara would remember this smell, though! If she could help Seiichirou, then she would. He was a very nice man. "Oh, speaking of Kovu..." she shifts a little, falling to sit on her haunches and let the journal slide off her neck. Figuring how to open it again, she fiddles around with it so she can find the entry that Duma had showed her belonging to her friend. She decided she'd test out the microphone again, making a quick response to the entry before flicking her tail happily. "Oh, perhaps we can find your wife and daughter on these, too!" she suddenly realizes during her exchange of comments with Kovu.
