Well, Duma is not exactly sure that this Kovu would be in the direction he pointed at, but he might be. If you always find things in the last place you look for, then it doesn't matter where you start because you will always find it in the last place you look for, right? Duma knows it is wrong, but he figures that 'that way' is as good as any other way, and so he gives her a nod.

In reply to her suggestion, Duma starts walking 'that way' while gesturing for her to follow. It will perhaps be a very long time still before he gets used to feeling the horribly rough ground below the soles of his feet, but he is trying his best not to grimace at every step he takes.
