Junkyard of a City [open!]
Character(s): Chii, Seifer, Selphie
Content: finding a place to stay in 'this junkyard of a city'
Setting: Actua Are (O13)
Time: Saturday afternoon
Warnings: none as of yet
The three of them were probably the weirdest company ever; a pale robotic girl walking in front with her hand pointing to a direction all the time, a tall man with a huge gunblade slung over his shoulder and a seemingly innocent girl with a menacing nunchaku in hand. They have been walking for some time now, but the building they were heading to looms before them like a beacon of hope.
"There! There!" Chii shouts in glee, jumping up and down while still pointing toward the building. "Chii and Seifer and Selphie found place to stay in this junkyard of a city!" Then remembering her promise to Seifer to not talk but only point, she immediately puts her hands over her mouth.
Waving her hand about, she points to the building and tries to somehow communicate to Seifer that the building is Actua Are. Failing miserably, she takes Seifer's hand and tries to drag him into the hotel. Chii is not sure if the hotel serves food or not, but she hopes that it does because Seifer might get angry if not. Chii does not really want Seifer to get angry as being angry means being unhappy and Chii wants Seifer to be happy.
Chii does not know much about Selphie so she does not know if she would get angry or not. Selphie is Seifer's friend however, and she is hungry and being hungry means being unhappy and if Selphie is unhappy then Seifer would be unhappy too and Chii wants Seifer to be happy. Humans are very weird, she thinks.

Their walk was rather long and not so entertaining, but Selphie amused herself by looking around the strange town. She was still unsure where she was. She knew that it wasn't her home. It was super obvious, of course, because nothing really looked the same. For a moment, she thought it might all be a dream--but then she realized she tested that earlier and smiled. It was such coincidence that she came across someone from where she was from. She glanced at Seifer a moment, wondering if she would have met him if she had actually gotten to Balamb. She wondered if they would have even spoke, or had the same classes, maybe be on the same SeeD mission.
All that thought started to make Selphie wonder too much and thankfully, Chii started talking before she could think anymore. She smiled and gave a small bounce, "Good job Chiiiii!" She said, giving her a thumbs up.
She knew that both her and Chii promised not to talk so much and clamped her mouth shut, glancing again at Seifer to check and see if he was annoyed anymore.

Giving the two an annoyed look, Seifer shook his head at the duo with hands covering their mouths. "I didn't say you weren't allowed to talk at all," he half-spat, just realizing why the two had been so incredibly quiet. "You don't need to get so weird about it." With that, Seifer sighed and examined the place they had come across a little more closely. It looked enough like a restaurant, and Seifer could only hope that it was a half-decent one.
Mounting the first step and then turning back to face the two girls, Seifer raised one eyebrow in unamused expectancy. "Well, are you guys coming or not?" he asked, noticing them standing there, unsure if they were allowed to speak.

Selphie was also very nice to Chii as she talks in a sweet way to her even though she seems to be keen on annoying Seifer. Chii wonders if she should act nice to Selphie or not since she belongs to Seifer and Selphie is annoying Seifer yet Selphie is nice. All this trying to figure out things is taking a lot of energy and Chii is getting tired. She wonders if Seifer would charge her soon because she thinks she is running out of battery...

Not pulling away yet not moving closer, Seifer raised one eyebrow in concern and skepticism. "What's the problem?" he asked, almost suspiciously. Something was up that he didn't know about, and Seifer had always hated being out of the loop.
no subject
"Chii..." she hesitates for a moment, considering once again if she should tell him and deciding that she should. She opens her mouth again but realizes that she does not really know how to tell Seifer to charge her. Then, coming up with an idea, "Chii is hungry!"
She hopes Seifer will know better than to give her human food...
no subject
She nodded again and glanced at Seifer, wondering if he'd be sick of the two girls real soon. She didn't want to make him angry, of course. He was the only person from her world that she know of yet, she couldn't make enemies now.
no subject
Yes, Seifer may be a jerk at times (*coughUSUALLYcough*). And the two may annoy him a good amount at times. But he was still a gentleman.
"Are you coming in? Or are you going to make me stand here all day for you?"
Well, at least that was what he liked to tell himself.

He stopped by the door and held it open, though and Chii was so happy that Seifer waited for her. She immediately attaches herself to Seifer's arm once more squealing like a manic fangirl (sorry, i just had to put that in x), "Seifer very kind!!" some people around the area probably thought of Chii as crazy, but she apparently has no sense of what is embarassing and what is not.
no subject
"Ah... tickle in my throat," She muttered, grinning, "Well, lets take a seat!" She motioned to a table and sat by herself on one side, assuming Seifer and Chii would want to sit together if they were dating.
Selphie giggled again, 'HE LIKES ROBO-WOMEN!'

As Selphie sat down, Seifer (slightly calmed down at this point, but still stewing a bit) found a place for himself at the booth as well. He expressionlessly lifted a menu to eye level and began to examine it, not really paying any attention to either Selphie or Chii.
He had sort of given up on them behaving up to his normal posse standards, and the only thing he could think of to do was to ignore them as much as possible.

The three of them enters the Actua Are; Selphie first, then Seifer and a sad-looking Chii following from quite a distance. Seifer seemed to not be as angry as he was before, but he deliberately lifts up the menu to his eye-level so that he would not be forced to look at Chii. Chii looks down at the menu opened in front of her and realizes a problem once more; she cannot seem to understand what the characters presented on the menu possibly means.
Not just that, her vision seems to be blurring due to low battery and she wonders if Seifer would get made if she hibernates just while her and Selphie eat. Seifer seemed to not want to talk to her, though and so she just keeps quiet and hopes that Seifer realizes the problem before she shuts down automatically as that might cause her to lose some memory again.

She bit her lip and gave a small sigh, Selphie knew she had a way with interrupting things. Always, Always, Always. She remembered the time she walked into her friends room during a really inapropriate time, and then the time she was in the same restaurant as her friend and her date and totally began yapping for quite awhile before she realized they were on a date.
But, if she was interrupting anything, she knew Seifer would have said so. He seemed blunt enough. And with that thought, she stopped worrying and began to read the menu and directed her thoughts to wondering why Seifer liked robot girls.

"Water," replied Seifer simply, crossing his arms and legs as he leaned back against the cushion of the booth behind him. He then looked at the other two girls and waited for them to order.

She pouts and looks down on her menu without reading it; moving as little as possible to save as much energy as possible. If she can hold on until tomorrow when the sun rises and she can go out, maybe Seifer does not have to know that Chii is low on battery. That way, Seifer will not be unhappy. With that thought in mind, she stops moving altogether including her blinking. She hopes Seifer will not notice...

Chii wasn't moving. Like, at all.
Thinking that maybe it was his imagination for a moment, Seifer squinted ever so slightly at the girl. She was indeed completely still. "Chii?" Seifer asked in a 'what the hell is wrong with you?' tone of voice. No reaction. Sighing impatiently, Seifer waved a single hand in front of her face to see if she'd react. This girl was getting weirder and weirder by the second.
no subject
It all hurt her head, so she gave up on thinking about it.

She doesn't think that she can keep up with reserving her energy anymore and so snapping out of her 'reverie' and lifts her head up from the menu and looks at Seifer, "Chii tired. Chii hungry. Chii needs something..." the speech itself took quite a substantial amount of power from her and the another soft whirring of machine can be heard as Chii falls from the chair and onto the floor.

"Are there any... doctors or anything, here?" Seifer asked. But upon not getting an automatic response, sighed in frustration and turned to Selphie. "Do you have any Curas or Esunas on you, or anything?" he asked. "Because I'm all out. Just... see if you can do anything, I'm going to go see if I can get the manager out here or something. Or at least directions to a hospital."
And a few seconds later, Seifer had already disappeared behind the 'Employees Only' sign at the back of the building.

The beat up old station wagon, its rear bumper barely attached courtesy of rusty chains, rocked slightly on its shock-less wheels as the EMT stepped out of the vehicle and slammed the door.
The petite woman looked more military than medical, but the bag she retrieved from the back hatch was white with a red cross emblazened on either side.
She walked into the hotel restaurant and peered around. Spying Chii sprawled out on the floor, she quickly made her way over, knelt down, and began to take stock of the patient. Well, her eyes were open.
"Miss, can you hear me?"
With a delicate wrist in hand to search for a pulse, the EMT leaned down to make sure the patient was breathing.

Seifer burst back from the back room of the restaurant, a few cries of chefs and other angry employees still audible. He was shoving his journal into his pocket when his searching eyes found Selphie. "I couldn't find the manager or anyone, but I posted-" And then his eyes found the woman.
"Are you the doctor? What's going on?" the blond asked, making his way quickly to the medic's side. He looked at Chii a moment, hating that this had happened... medicine and such was one thing that Seifer knew absolutely nothing about, and he hated having to rely on others. Especially in something as important as a life or death situation.
To Seifer
"Please, Sir. Just let me do my job."
No pulse. No breathing.
But her skin was warm to the touch; normal body temperature, and her eyes were blank, not dead.
She began to search the woman's skin for anything that would confirm her suspicions. What kind of ears were those? Finally, she took a peek up the pretty little dress.
With a huff of laughter--what a waste of time this had been--she smoothed the skirt back down over the biodroid's legs and looked up at the man hovering over her in a panic.
"Mister, what you need is a mechanic, not a doctor. Your robot's probably just low on power or something." Closing up her bag with a snap, she stood to go. "Auntie Unde's sells all sorts of odds and ends. You might be able to find some sort of charger there. But if she's really broken, ask for Luigi at Folios. I hear he dabbles in that kinda thing."
Feeling that fulfilled her kindness to idiots quota, she turned to leave.

"A mechanic, then..." Seifer muttered to himself. He looked up to ask Selphie if she knew of one, and realized for the first time that a crowd had started to form around the trio. "Alright, move it, people," the blond said in a loud, authoritative voice, taking a step closer to Chii. "Nothing to see here, get back to your food."
As the crowd dispersed, Seifer continued with his question. "Selphie, do you know of any mechanics in this city? Or that Auntie Unde's place? Or are we going to have to go search?"
no subject
Selphie blinked, watching the situation. She was worried. She began nibbling on her fingernails and frowned. "Mechanic?" She repeated, still feeling nervous. Selphie almost suggested to let her fix Chii, but then she realized she knew nothing about robots and only about computers. She didn't think they were the same.
"I don't know anyone!" She sighed, staring at Chii, "I think we'll have to search."
She bounced from one foot to the other, "I hope we can fix her!"
