Junkyard of a City [open!]

Character(s): Chii, Seifer, Selphie
Content: finding a place to stay in 'this junkyard of a city'
Setting: Actua Are (O13)
Time: Saturday afternoon
Warnings: none as of yet

The three of them were probably the weirdest company ever; a pale robotic girl walking in front with her hand pointing to a direction all the time, a tall man with a huge gunblade slung over his shoulder and a seemingly innocent girl with a menacing nunchaku in hand. They have been walking for some time now, but the building they were heading to looms before them like a beacon of hope.

"There! There!" Chii shouts in glee, jumping up and down while still pointing toward the building. "Chii and Seifer and Selphie found place to stay in this junkyard of a city!" Then remembering her promise to Seifer to not talk but only point, she immediately puts her hands over her mouth.

Waving her hand about, she points to the building and tries to somehow communicate to Seifer that the building is Actua Are. Failing miserably, she takes Seifer's hand and tries to drag him into the hotel. Chii is not sure if the hotel serves food or not, but she hopes that it does because Seifer might get angry if not. Chii does not really want Seifer to get angry as being angry means being unhappy and Chii wants Seifer to be happy.

Chii does not know much about Selphie so she does not know if she would get angry or not. Selphie is Seifer's friend however, and she is hungry and being hungry means being unhappy and if Selphie is unhappy then Seifer would be unhappy too and Chii wants Seifer to be happy. Humans are very weird, she thinks.

[ooc: I love Chii. ♥ She's just pure awesomeness.]

Their walk was rather long and not so entertaining, but Selphie amused herself by looking around the strange town. She was still unsure where she was. She knew that it wasn't her home. It was super obvious, of course, because nothing really looked the same. For a moment, she thought it might all be a dream--but then she realized she tested that earlier and smiled. It was such coincidence that she came across someone from where she was from. She glanced at Seifer a moment, wondering if she would have met him if she had actually gotten to Balamb. She wondered if they would have even spoke, or had the same classes, maybe be on the same SeeD mission.

All that thought started to make Selphie wonder too much and thankfully, Chii started talking before she could think anymore. She smiled and gave a small bounce, "Good job Chiiiii!" She said, giving her a thumbs up.

She knew that both her and Chii promised not to talk so much and clamped her mouth shut, glancing again at Seifer to check and see if he was annoyed anymore.

Seifer had been entertaining himself during the walk by fiddling with his journal, and finally figuring out a few of its functions. The walk had been particularly quiet, and Seifer would have thought that odd if, in fact, he had been thinking about it at all. But he was brought back to reality with Chii's exclamation and Selphie's encouragement.

Giving the two an annoyed look, Seifer shook his head at the duo with hands covering their mouths. "I didn't say you weren't allowed to talk at all," he half-spat, just realizing why the two had been so incredibly quiet. "You don't need to get so weird about it." With that, Seifer sighed and examined the place they had come across a little more closely. It looked enough like a restaurant, and Seifer could only hope that it was a half-decent one.

Mounting the first step and then turning back to face the two girls, Seifer raised one eyebrow in unamused expectancy. "Well, are you guys coming or not?" he asked, noticing them standing there, unsure if they were allowed to speak.

[identity profile] full-cure.livejournal.com 2006-03-29 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm cooominggg!" Selphie said, but in a not-so-cheerful-voice. She decided Seifer didn't like the whole peppy voice thing and he probably exactly like one of her old Professors. The one that claimed that she gave him a headache after every class. So! Selphie was going to talk to Seifer exactly like him. She bounced up next to him and waved to Chii, "Come Chii!"

[identity profile] pride-ablaze.livejournal.com 2006-04-01 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Seifer began to turn and enter the building, but he frowned as Chii grabbed his hand. Something seemed different about her... her movements were ever so slightly slower than usual, and she just seemed sluggish in general.

Not pulling away yet not moving closer, Seifer raised one eyebrow in concern and skepticism. "What's the problem?" he asked, almost suspiciously. Something was up that he didn't know about, and Seifer had always hated being out of the loop.

[identity profile] full-cure.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Selphie smiled at Chii, "Well, Chii, we're going to get food!" She nodded, "That's why we're here right?"

She nodded again and glanced at Seifer, wondering if he'd be sick of the two girls real soon. She didn't want to make him angry, of course. He was the only person from her world that she know of yet, she couldn't make enemies now.

[identity profile] pride-ablaze.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right," Seifer said somewhat grumpily, not waiting for the girls as they began to move. They seemed to be following, and that was enough for him. Seifer climbed the steps and pulled the door to the building open, leaning against it to keep it wide open until Chii and Selphie were inside.

Yes, Seifer may be a jerk at times (*coughUSUALLYcough*). And the two may annoy him a good amount at times. But he was still a gentleman.

"Are you coming in? Or are you going to make me stand here all day for you?"

Well, at least that was what he liked to tell himself.

[identity profile] full-cure.livejournal.com 2006-04-05 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Selphie smiled and scooted herself inside the door. She thanked Seifer and watched Chii cling to Seifer's arm. She stiffled her laughter, but grinned. Then a random thought hit her, was Chii Seifer's girlfriend? She tilted her head, wondering if he had a thing for robotic girls or something. She snorted, but covered it by starting to cough.

"Ah... tickle in my throat," She muttered, grinning, "Well, lets take a seat!" She motioned to a table and sat by herself on one side, assuming Seifer and Chii would want to sit together if they were dating.

Selphie giggled again, 'HE LIKES ROBO-WOMEN!'

[identity profile] pride-ablaze.livejournal.com 2006-04-05 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Frowning in surprise, Seifer once again plucked the girl off of his arm. "Just... get inside..." he half muttered. People had definitely stared, and having a cutesy little girl clinging to his arm was not the image that Seifer wanted to portray.

As Selphie sat down, Seifer (slightly calmed down at this point, but still stewing a bit) found a place for himself at the booth as well. He expressionlessly lifted a menu to eye level and began to examine it, not really paying any attention to either Selphie or Chii.

He had sort of given up on them behaving up to his normal posse standards, and the only thing he could think of to do was to ignore them as much as possible.

[identity profile] full-cure.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Selphie picked up her own menu and tried to read the list of foods, but all she could think about was how Seifer and Chii might be a couple. At first, Selphie felt bad that she interrupted, what if they were on a date? She blushed, hoping that wasn't the case.

She bit her lip and gave a small sigh, Selphie knew she had a way with interrupting things. Always, Always, Always. She remembered the time she walked into her friends room during a really inapropriate time, and then the time she was in the same restaurant as her friend and her date and totally began yapping for quite awhile before she realized they were on a date.

But, if she was interrupting anything, she knew Seifer would have said so. He seemed blunt enough. And with that thought, she stopped worrying and began to read the menu and directed her thoughts to wondering why Seifer liked robot girls.

[identity profile] pride-ablaze.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Idly setting his menu down, Seifer looked around in mild annoyance. The place was pretty busy, and the waiters were kept running from one table to another. A breathless one with freckles and black-rimmed glasses finally stopped next to the three and flashed them a tired yet cheery smile before asking, "Can I get you anything to drink?"

"Water," replied Seifer simply, crossing his arms and legs as he leaned back against the cushion of the booth behind him. He then looked at the other two girls and waited for them to order.

[identity profile] full-cure.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Selphie turned towards the waitress and gave her a big grin, "Water's alright with me too," she nodded and glanced at Seifer. She wanted to start asking him about Balamb and other things, but then thought he might not even want to talk to her. He didn't seem like he did, anyway. She bit her lip slightly and glanced over the menu, for food ideas.

[identity profile] pride-ablaze.livejournal.com 2006-04-09 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
The waiter skittered away to get the drinks, and Seifer glanced over the menu one again to try and decide what to order food-wise. But he was interrupted by a weird sound. It was the sound... of silence. He glanced up at Selphie and Chii, realizing that this was probably the first time he had spent with them where they had actually been genuinely quiet. It certainly threw him off guard, but he couldn't say he minded. The slightest trace of a grin found it's way onto his face, and Seifer was about to look back down at his menu when something else threw him even more off guard.

Chii wasn't moving. Like, at all.

Thinking that maybe it was his imagination for a moment, Seifer squinted ever so slightly at the girl. She was indeed completely still. "Chii?" Seifer asked in a 'what the hell is wrong with you?' tone of voice. No reaction. Sighing impatiently, Seifer waved a single hand in front of her face to see if she'd react. This girl was getting weirder and weirder by the second.

[identity profile] full-cure.livejournal.com 2006-04-10 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe she's zoning out?" Selphie offered, "That happens sometimes, you know, maybe she's just thinking!" Selphie nodded and grinned behind her menu, wondering if maybe Chii was daydreaming about Seifer. Then she confused herself, could robots even daydream???

It all hurt her head, so she gave up on thinking about it.

[identity profile] pride-ablaze.livejournal.com 2006-04-11 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
His brow immediately creasing in confusion, Seifer stood up as Chii fell to the floor. He glanced at Selphie but, seeing that she seemed to know as much about this as he did, swiftly proceeded to crouch down beside Chii. His trained reaction was to take Chii's pulse, but there was so sign of life. Seifer cursed under his breath, reminding himself that a lack of such a sign meant nothing... after all, she hadn't really had a pulse before, had she?

"Are there any... doctors or anything, here?" Seifer asked. But upon not getting an automatic response, sighed in frustration and turned to Selphie. "Do you have any Curas or Esunas on you, or anything?" he asked. "Because I'm all out. Just... see if you can do anything, I'm going to go see if I can get the manager out here or something. Or at least directions to a hospital."

And a few seconds later, Seifer had already disappeared behind the 'Employees Only' sign at the back of the building.

[identity profile] paixaonpcs.livejournal.com 2006-04-11 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Several minutes later, a siren could be heard in the distance, the ear-splitting noise rapidly approaching. Soon, an ambulance came to a screeching halt outside of the Actua Are--well, one might assume it was the promised ambulance, considering it was a vehicle with a siren. Other than that, it bore little resemblance to what most people think of when they imagine an ambulance.

The beat up old station wagon, its rear bumper barely attached courtesy of rusty chains, rocked slightly on its shock-less wheels as the EMT stepped out of the vehicle and slammed the door.

The petite woman looked more military than medical, but the bag she retrieved from the back hatch was white with a red cross emblazened on either side.

She walked into the hotel restaurant and peered around. Spying Chii sprawled out on the floor, she quickly made her way over, knelt down, and began to take stock of the patient. Well, her eyes were open.

"Miss, can you hear me?"

With a delicate wrist in hand to search for a pulse, the EMT leaned down to make sure the patient was breathing.

[identity profile] pride-ablaze.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
[ooc: Selphieeeee?]

Seifer burst back from the back room of the restaurant, a few cries of chefs and other angry employees still audible. He was shoving his journal into his pocket when his searching eyes found Selphie. "I couldn't find the manager or anyone, but I posted-" And then his eyes found the woman.

"Are you the doctor? What's going on?" the blond asked, making his way quickly to the medic's side. He looked at Chii a moment, hating that this had happened... medicine and such was one thing that Seifer knew absolutely nothing about, and he hated having to rely on others. Especially in something as important as a life or death situation.

To Seifer

[identity profile] paixaonpcs.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
The EMT's face showed both concern and annoyance.

"Please, Sir. Just let me do my job."

No pulse. No breathing.
But her skin was warm to the touch; normal body temperature, and her eyes were blank, not dead.

She began to search the woman's skin for anything that would confirm her suspicions. What kind of ears were those? Finally, she took a peek up the pretty little dress.

With a huff of laughter--what a waste of time this had been--she smoothed the skirt back down over the biodroid's legs and looked up at the man hovering over her in a panic.

"Mister, what you need is a mechanic, not a doctor. Your robot's probably just low on power or something." Closing up her bag with a snap, she stood to go. "Auntie Unde's sells all sorts of odds and ends. You might be able to find some sort of charger there. But if she's really broken, ask for Luigi at Folios. I hear he dabbles in that kinda thing."

Feeling that fulfilled her kindness to idiots quota, she turned to leave.

[identity profile] pride-ablaze.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Frowning deeply, Seifer looked back and forth at the EMT and Chii for a moment. And then it clicked... oh, yes. The robot thing. He had nearly forgotten. And now he felt completely idiotic, a feeling he absolutely hated. In fact, he didn't even bother to reply to the EMT or even glance back at her as she left.

"A mechanic, then..." Seifer muttered to himself. He looked up to ask Selphie if she knew of one, and realized for the first time that a crowd had started to form around the trio. "Alright, move it, people," the blond said in a loud, authoritative voice, taking a step closer to Chii. "Nothing to see here, get back to your food."

As the crowd dispersed, Seifer continued with his question. "Selphie, do you know of any mechanics in this city? Or that Auntie Unde's place? Or are we going to have to go search?"

[identity profile] full-cure.livejournal.com 2006-04-16 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
[ooc: Ahhh. Been dealing with IRL things. I LIVE. *postsomg* sorry :[]

Selphie blinked, watching the situation. She was worried. She began nibbling on her fingernails and frowned. "Mechanic?" She repeated, still feeling nervous. Selphie almost suggested to let her fix Chii, but then she realized she knew nothing about robots and only about computers. She didn't think they were the same.

"I don't know anyone!" She sighed, staring at Chii, "I think we'll have to search."

She bounced from one foot to the other, "I hope we can fix her!"

[S'okay. Wanna end this thread and say the two went to find that Luigi guy at Folios, and Seifer just carried Chii there?]
