Several minutes later, a siren could be heard in the distance, the ear-splitting noise rapidly approaching. Soon, an ambulance came to a screeching halt outside of the Actua Are--well, one might assume it was the promised ambulance, considering it was a vehicle with a siren. Other than that, it bore little resemblance to what most people think of when they imagine an ambulance.
The beat up old station wagon, its rear bumper barely attached courtesy of rusty chains, rocked slightly on its shock-less wheels as the EMT stepped out of the vehicle and slammed the door.
The petite woman looked more military than medical, but the bag she retrieved from the back hatch was white with a red cross emblazened on either side.
She walked into the hotel restaurant and peered around. Spying Chii sprawled out on the floor, she quickly made her way over, knelt down, and began to take stock of the patient. Well, her eyes were open.
"Miss, can you hear me?"
With a delicate wrist in hand to search for a pulse, the EMT leaned down to make sure the patient was breathing.
