Nous ne faisons que passer dans l'ombre sous la lumière [Active/Closed]
Character(s): Priere and Eleven
Content: Priere and Eleven have that talk aboutdarkness and the org... org loving puppies of course!
Setting: Around Paixao for the moment
Time: Middle of the night
Warnings: None for the moment?
Ever since that man showed that letter on the message board, Priere hadn’t gotten a single full night sleep. This had to be a first, even in some of the hardest situations she always managed to sleep like a rock. Even the nightmares that plagued the city a few weeks back didn’t cut her sleep like this. At least they only made her wake up startled... not make her toss and turn for hours.
She didn’t really have any reasons to be so on edge though; she knew that this letter was lying! The worlds weren’t getting destroyed... her home was fine... After all, her brother had been here before! If her world had been destroyed, how could he have been brought here? And now he was home! It’s not like they could just send him back to float in space! It was all the proof she needed to know that her world, and thus the worlds of other were safe. So, why was it still eating her inside? Why hasn’t it shut up that little voice in the back of her head telling her everyone was gone?
“ARGH!”
She unceremoniously flipped the covers over, not caring that her outburst probably woke up the entire floor, and jumped out of bed. Not even bothering to change, she simply grabbed her coat and shoes before storming out the door. She found herself roaming the streets, no clear destination in mind. As long as it could clear her head, she didn’t really care.

He'd slipped out of bed, careful to not wake his soon-to-be-wife (but really, they'd always been sort of married, hadn't they?), dressed, and moved silently out the door to wander the streets of Paixao. But his thoughts were so occupied, he sort of forgot to look where he was going, which led to nearly crashing right into Priere.
"Oh, sorry!" he managed, looking properly sheepish and apologetic. "I didn't see you there. Wasn't looking, really, which is why I wasn't seeing You look familiar, have I saved the world with you before?"
no subject
If Priere had been planning on being mad about nearly being crashed into, it died down almost immediately as soon as the Doctor opened his mouth. "Does tag count as saving the world?" she couldn't help but answer as she recognized the Doctor.
She had found him to be weird the first time they met, but this was just helping to cement it. That had to be the weirdest way to re-introduce yourself to someone ever.
no subject
He hated not being able to recognize people, especially in here, where allies and friends were needed more than ever.

"... you're gonna have to explain how it's possible to save the world playing a game of tag though," she did finally relent. Okay, she was getting curious about that one.
no subject
"Oh, that's easy," he replied, a boyish grin spreading across his face. "First, you find an alien invasion. Then, you convince them that according to the sacred rules of ancient combat on that particular planet or asteroid or spaceship or whatever, absolute victory will be awarded to the one who wins the deadly and elegant practice of tag. Then, while you have them distracted, you run like hell and make sure to confuse them so thoroughly that the invading forces just give up. Or," he continued, laughing a little at the memory, "if they refuse the challenge, do it anyway. Hello, Priere. Nice to see you again. I'm the Doctor."
no subject
"Do-- do you always deal with alien invasions?" She eventually said, finally cracking a smile. She wasn't quite sure if he was being serious or not... but considering all she saw around here, it could very much be true. "But yeah, nice to see you again. Been busy lately?"
no subject
"Oh, yeah! Very busy. A lot of universes to save, a wedding to plan, biscuits to make. You?"
no subject
"Wedding? Oh right, someone mentioned that a while ago. Congrats," she said, though she had to stop herself from adding 'I think' to her sentence. She still wasn't quite sure about holding weddings in their current situation, but whatever.
"Oh, well... I've been busy..." Yep. beating up psychopathic lions, killing zombies, and becoming a sla--- vassal to some kid with a huge ego. "Just... normal stuff... thinking about the whole place, trying to figure it out."
no subject
"Oh, have you been busy? Busy's good. I always like keeping busy; staying still is boring." He gave a nod. "Oh, this place is brilliant. There's sort of an ominous, possible end-of-the-universe vibe I've been getting from it lately, but it's brilliant nonetheless. Literally. It sparkles! Never been to a sparkly city for this long before. Usually, I get a headache after awhile. Also, the architecture's amazing."
no subject
However, the rest of the Doctor's speech went over her head as soon as she hear 'end-of-the-universe'. Urgh, she was taking this walk to escape from all of this and hopefully getting rid of her growing dark circles under her eyes. "I'm pretty sure it's nothing," she said still smiling. But this time, it was a lot less genuine; it was more neutral, more practiced.

Priere's change in mood did not go unnoticed. Gently, the Doctor laid a hand on her shoulder. "Now, Priere, is something bothering you? We may not know each other well, but you can talk to me about it, if you want."
no subject
She jumped a little when she felt the hand on her should, more out of surprise than anything else. But while she did accept the gesture, his offer on the other hand... "Naaaaaah, it's not important! Anyway, you've got bigger things to worry about, right?"
Years of hiding her problems and weaknesses don't simply vanish in an instant just because someone offers an ear.
no subject
He nodded understandingly at Priere's excuses. He was a stranger, after all, and people hardly went about pouring out their problems to strangers. Except when they did. The Doctor seemed to get that a lot, at least. Still, best for the woman to do as she saw fit.
no subject
And she was being truthful about him having bigger things to worry about.
She couldn't help but laugh at his whole "scary, dangerous, wedding". This... should be interesting, not to mention that if fights did break out with monsters, there would probably be no need for entertainment. Yep, this guy was alright in Priere's book.
However, something started to bother her at the mention of a dangerous wedding. She remembered what they had talked about a while back on the network and this guy had been saying that he wanted to raise an army! Granted, nothing had been said about it afterwards and it didn't look like it bothered their captors but... he was planning a wedding. In a dangerous location. Yeah... she wouldn't put it past them to do something there.
"Dangerous weddings sound fun," she said just a bit lower, suddenly not so subtly looking around to see if anyone was there. "But what if the organization shows up?"
no subject
"Oh," he replied, a soft, dangerous smile creeping over his lips for an instant, "I'm counting on that, you know." To be honest, he at least expected them to be spied on, regardless of what actually happened. "I've been wanting to learn more about them, anyway." Besides, he loved a good party, and dancing at weddings was one of his favorite activities.
no subject
"You want them to come crash your wedding?" she asked, still in shock. "Are we supposed to come in armed then? Or do you have a plan?" He did say he wanted to build a group after all.
no subject
no subject
"Unless that plan of yours is gonna solve that problem?" It just seemed alien to her to not fight in these circumstances. But at least, it looked like coming up with plans. "Well, I don't really mind in the end, it's your wedding after all. You can call the shots."
no subject
"Plans! Right! I've got one. Do I?" he thought to himself for a moment and shook his head. "No quite, no. But as I said, working on it." He grinned disarmingly at Priere.
no subject
At the mental image of a gigantic cake food fight against the organization (or at least her bad guy stereotype image of them), she really, really couldn't help herself from bursting out in laughter. "I-- I think this is going to be the best wedding," she finally blurted out. "But... let's try to eat that cake first!"
She tried her best to stop laughing after a while. "But yeah, once you get that plan going, count me in!" This should be a very interesting day.
no subject
"Oh, I definitely will, Priere." Definitely.
