Three's Company [Active]
Character(s): Urd, Eden, Genie
Content: The love triangle begins?
Setting: Urd and Genie's house, M6
Time: ASS KICKIN TIME
Warnings: Someone's hair is going to get pulled. (Spoiler: it's Genie's.)
This was the last thing Urd wanted to deal with. She was no stranger to the jealous hysterics of other women (and though she'd never admit to it, she'd had some jealous hysterics of her own), but this was different. She'd always tried to avoid being the other woman, as open with her romantic needs as she was. When it came to romance, Urd needed complete and utter devotion. She needed to be the only thing her lover thought about! The center of their world!
But how could that happen if an old flame showed up? An old genie flame? Arms crossed, the goddess paced in the front hall of the house she shared with the best friend she had under these domes. The friend she'd been exploring other options with. The friend she was madly in love with at this point.
Why didn't he tell me? In her agitated state, Urd completely ignored the idea of conflicting timelines, even though she'd certainly had some experience in that area as well. Instead, her imagination was filled with a number of possible reasons why this had never come to light, the worst being that he still had feelings for Eden and that Urd had imagined his feelings for her being mutual. In fact, it was this very scenario that had her lightly thumping her forehead against the faded wallpaper in the hall as she waited for Eden to show up.

Oh well, that doesn’t matter, what matters is that there was something needed to be dealt with here. Woman to woman, mono e mono, just Urd, Eden and their magic! As soon as Eden arrived at the Victorian house, she cleared her throat. Straightened herself out, chest held high she opened the door as quick as lightening, as she made a dramatic background music sound effect blare out when she entered. “¡Hola! Mi nombre es Eden. ¡Usted tomó a mi hombre, se prepara para ser castigado!”
Eden stood there for a minute or two… Then realized something, “Whoops, slipped into dramatic Soap Opera mode for a minute there. Excuse me one moment.” She closed the door, then opened it with the dramatic music blaring again, “Ahaaaaaah, Urd! At least we meet… Not on journals! How do you do?!”

"So you came after all. You have guts, I'll give you that." The smirk faded and she walked towards Eden, never breaking eye contact. "I'm sorry it had to be like this. Another genie would have been great as a friend. But I'm staking my claim now and I have no plans on giving him up, not even to you."

Ready for anything this goddess can throw, Eden cracked her knuckles, “SO~ How shall we settle this~? Baking contest, Tic-Tac-Toe, Pretty Pretty Princess, 52 Pick up? Because anything YOU can do for Genie, I can do better. I can do anything better than you!”

"Sit down and make yourself comfortable." Urd sat (or rather, floated in a sitting position) opposite, pulling a rather large bottle of sake into her lap and going about pouring herself a drink. "Now, you're sure my Genie is your Genie? No case of mistaken identity?"
no subject
Oh-Right, focus Eden, focus! She turned her attention to Urd, giving a firm a nod, “Positive. I know that Genie anywhere. The same Genie I met in Agrabah alright, alright,” rubs her chin, “Unless he’s got a twin brother he never told me about. But the chances of that are so slim.
Eden then gave a shrug, “Anyway, it’s gotta be him. But why he doesn’t remember is beyond me. Now that Zelos guy did mention something about Paixao and it’s apparent memory problem. Do you know anything about that?”
no subject
"Say this is the stream of time." She placed her sake bottle on said line. "This is you. You've met Genie and had your...eh...dates or whatever, and everything's fine. Paixao took you from this point." Urd then placed her empty cup further behind the bottle on the line.
"This is Genie. Strictly speaking, he hasn't met you yet because he was trapped here at an earlier moment in time. He never got the chance because his timeline was interrupted and changed."
She looked up at Eden, her expression a mix of annoyance and...empathy. "I'm sorry, Eden. It's not that he forgot, it's that he doesn't have the memories to begin with."

As it would turn out, it was in fact the tea-room (or open area tea-room now) with the ochoko that he would find the pair. And from what he could tell, the two were conversing with one another in a perfectly civilized manner. Genie blinked numerous times at the sight before finally taking in the sounds and listening in to their conversation. He gasped quietly and turned away, having caught just the last of Urd’s words. ‘…it's that he doesn't have the memories to begin with.’

Eden looked down giving a sigh, “Oh… That would make more sense though wouldn’t it?” She glanced to the side as she tucked a string of hair behind her ear, “There would be no way for him to get those memories back, because they never happened to him…”
There was a slight gaze over Eden’s eyes, as she gripped her teacup slightly and bit her lip. This just made things a lot more complicated now, didn’t it? She gave sigh, “And that time you guys spent together… That would make more sense as well, wouldn’t it?” Not that she wanted to give up on this, but it all came together, at least the reasons did. Eden rubbed her temple, feeling a strong headache and sort of frustrated emotion she couldn’t describe take over her. If all the things that could happen, this?
Giving another sigh, Eden put her hands across from her on the table. “Well…” Eden said as she looked away, a faded sort of grin came, as she spoke, “Chances of genies like us falling in love, usually are not very good, but to see that he can. Makes it less…” Eden cleared her throat as she glanced back at Urd, straightening herself back up, staring back into her eyes intensely, determined to not fail at her faith. The small smile still on her lips as she spoke, “You must be really something wonderful, Urd, to catch his eye.”

Urd set down her cup and was about to attempt some sort of pep talk when Eden grinned and completely took her by surprise. Unable to look away from the gaze leveled directly at her, the goddess froze. Of all reactions she might have expected, this wasn't one of them. "Ah...I..." Before she could stop herself, she held up her hands and laughed nervously. "I don't know if I've caught anything, really!"
no subject
… Or was it just a lie; had he been alone all this time? When she had said she did not know if she’d caught anything, did she mean that he was no prize? No, she couldn’t have. Could she? Genie placed his hands over his mouth and scooted closer, eager to hear more.

Eden closed her eyes in thought as she picked up the teacup to take a sip. Then place her cup back down on her saucer, “We both love him… I know I really do, deeply and truly, from the moment I realized how gumdrops and pepperoni taste better when they’re together,” she said with a slight chuckle, recalling the falling tower of pizza and their funny little meeting.
“There must be a moment for you and Genie as well, knowing him, it’s always something really out there but just… Perfect,” Eden said as she folded her fingers under her chin. She gave a wistful sigh. Remembering each and every good time they spent together. Even if Genie can’t remember, she can, and boy were those memories just so wonderful and magical.

Goddesses thrived on love. Finely tuned to human emotions -- as emotion gave the purest energy to them -- they was no way Urd could deny the strength or purity of Eden's feelings. They radiated off of her like her own green glow. Feeling her stomach clench, Urd slunk down a little. This was the absolute worst.
"Eh?" Her pity party came to a screeching halt at Eden's next words. Sitting up straighter, she frowned. "A moment..." She looked down, lightly putting her fingertips over her heart. She could feel Genie's power there still. It would always be a part of her, fueling her and sustaining her even when her own strength fell apart. That was surely proof that she meant something to him. But had there been something before?
"He...he's saved me. So many times." Ugh, why was it so hard to put it all into words. Feeling her face heat, she frowned sullenly into her cup. "I think it was probably when we combined our power to help push back the darkness." A memory flashed -- the two of them on the roof of Genie's apartment, surrounded by supernatural darkness, tangled up in magic string and staring into each other's eyes.
Suddenly she cried out in frustration and roughly put her fingers through her hair. "It doesn't matter! Stop being so forgiving, dammit!" Their roles reversed now, with Eden calm and collected and Urd spoiling for a fight (anything to get her to stop saying embarrassing things), the goddess desperately needed a distraction.

He peered into the room once more, focused on the other genie. The universe held many mysteries but none as curiosity than Eden herself. He could not recall the last genie he had seen, if there had ever been any. And thought it was rude to ask a lady, he could not help but long to know, how old was she? Where had she come from? Had she too spent the last ten thousand years in wait of something? Something old, something new? Maybe even someone… blue? It puzzled him how someone he knew absolutely nothing about could know so much about him. Usually it was the other way around. He had so many questions.
But through all the excitement, and fog of question, he had not forgotten Urd. It was easy to be distracted by new things, shiny, magical, genies in particular. However, the goddess had far from yet to leave his mind. He thought back to that night when they had tried to stop the Darkness. The way their magic had blend with one another, it had been something else. Genie smiled, for a moment sure he could feel what he had that night before Urd’s frustrated shout brought him back.

Standing up as Eden held up her hands, almost at a loss, as she closed her eyes in concentration. She took in a deep breath, then counted to three, before she could open her eyes to look at Urd and speak again, “Of course I want to know your feelings for him, I want to know if it’s true as it is mine! As much as it pains me to hear how you guys spent so many days together it’s still-…” Eden gripped her fists, as she dropped them to her sides, as her began to glaze again as she looked to the side, “It’s still important to know, rather than to be left in the dark. Not ever knowing the reasons why.” She let out a breath, her emotions almost about to take her over as well. Eden wasn’t going to let it. She wanted to fight it, she wanted to be strong, and to fight in what she believed is right here.

"I think we've talked enough!" she grumbled, standing up and stalking to the door. "There's nothing else to say, so just --" Urd flung open the door. "Get out!"
no subject
“Wait!” he reached out dramatically, holding the pose until he realized what he had done. Getting between the two women was sure to end poorly. Genie hadn’t exactly thought any of this through, all he knew was that he had to do something. “It can’t end like this.”

Taking a step forward, Eden held up her eyebrow in curiosity, but almost pained. She really didn’t want him to hear over any of that, she held her hands together, “How long… Have you been listening to us?”

“I understand if you do, but please don’t go, Eden.”

Looking back up Eden folded her arms as she looked to the side, “I-I know but… Urd…” she glanced over to her, knowing she didn’t want Eden around. Not that it’s surprising why, but, she can already feel how tense this room was. She looked back down holding the back of her neck.

She sighed roughly, hands dropping to her sides. "Ah, geez. You don't have to go, okay? In fact..." The next words out of her were grudgingly given, hard won. "...you can stay and catch up with Genie." I owe him that much. And more. Urd glanced between the two djinn, flustered and insecure and irritated.
"I'm just gonna...go." Then she turned and stalked out of the house, slamming the door behind her.
