It seems that I have been held in some dreaming state {Active}
Character(s): Lenne, The Doctor (Eleven)
Content: The Songstress and The Doctor do brunch… followed by investigating~
Setting: Yuna/Tidus/Eleven’s apartment, then… the Netherworld???
Time: Late morning
Warnings: None, at the moment, will update when applicable.
Lenne felt surprisingly confident about heading out to meet a man she didn’t know (who was living with her closest friend), to see what could be done about… the state of things. The situation called for action, and she’d had just about enough of secluding herself away with nothing but nightmares and indecision. So, she took a chance, and before she could lose her nerve she was heading out on foot across Paixao, until she wound up at the door of Yuna’s apartment.
Lenne raised her hand to knock, and hesitated as a flash of guilt coursed through her as she realized she was here to see someone else, when she should have been in contact with Yuna much sooner. She let out a heavy sigh, took in a new breath, and knocked with what she hoped was a confident cadence.

He'd just finished up when he heard a knock at the door and moved to answer it, still humming, wiping his hands on the frilly apron he'd been using. Upon seeing who his visitor was, he grinned brightly. "Lenne, I presume?" he asked, moving in for a friendly hug and an air-kiss near each cheek. "Hello, there. I'm the Doctor. Thanks for coming." He stepped aside to let the young woman in, gesturing towards the dining room. "Are you hungry? I hope you are, because I made a lot."

"No need to thank me, really, I should be thanking you," she stepped into the apartment and took a deep breath, enjoying what she could smell. "You weren't kidding! I hope you didn't go through too much trouble," she worried aloud, though with a smile as she turned back to him for a moment.

Brushing away the thoughts, he pushed in Lenne's chair for her once she'd sat down and moved to the opposite side of the table, moving some food onto his plate. The tea and juice he'd made were in the center (orange was a popular choice for breakfast juice, wasn't it?), in a clear spot so it was easy to reach - they really didn't need the juice being buried under the waffles.

She took her cues from him and began taking a little bit of everything (it all looked delicious!) and started with orange juice which she would have been grateful, had she known the dilemma, that it was not buried under waffles. Lenne realized she hadn't had a proper meal in weeks, and was grateful all over again to the Doctor; whatever was going to come of the day, at least she'd had an amazing brunch.
Not intending to rush the meal at all, but curiosity getting the better of her, Lenne asked, "So, what's on the agenda for today? After all this settles, anyway," and finished the spoken though with another bite of yummy waffle.

Ooh, the waffles had turned out nicely. That was good, considering he'd had to make his own waffle iron. But that was okay; he'd made one before, even if that one had been mostly to save a planet from a rampaging pregnant alien queen with a hell of a craving. Nice lady, though; it hadn't been her fault that the inhabitants of that particular planet suffered from violent cravings.
"Well," he began, "I thought we could head to the latest floor. I've had a look around the other ones - have you been to Halloween Town? It's brilliant! Makes me want to hand out sweets." Ooh, sweets! He hadn't made some of those in awhile.

At the mention of Halloween Town, the songstress smiled in what she hoped was a convincing way, because the truth was, "I'm sure I've been there, but my memory of it is a little vague." She took another bite of something else that was entirely delicious, so she'd have another moment to think about whether or not to choose to elaborate. The desire to talk won out. "You see, this is my second time to Paixao... most of my memories have come back, but some experiences are still full of holes."
If only she could forget the things she wanted to. But apparently, life just didn't work that way. Life in Paixao, anyway.

"Looks like this affects more than one person," he pondered. "That's only to be expected, with the amount of people in here, but maybe they're using the same means to accomplish it." Why use a whole bag of tricks when one worked just fine?

"That would make sense, since everyone I've talked to seems to arrive here suddenly with no memory of how, and we all appear in roughly the same places..." and she trailed off, thinking about that. She really hadn't put much thought into how they arrived, and she was maybe a little embarrassed about that, now. How they arrived must hold some explanation into how they were to escape, since when people vanished, it was just as sudden as their arrival. Lenne wasn't sure, at all. But, today was about getting answers. Maybe not all of them, but her excitement about the day's promised exploring was growing again.

"It would, wouldn't it? It's a puzzle. Love a puzzle!" Really, he did, especially when it was basically some kind of Rubik's cube with stairs and monsters and sparkly forests. In fact, forget the Rubik's cube, this was something else entirely. The Doctor nibbled on his eggs as he thought about it. Well, if nothing else, at least he could explore a bit more of the castle.

She laughed again, marveling at the Doctor's enthusiasm at the puzzle they were setting out to solve another piece of. She was getting anxious to set out after a few more moments, but hadn't really heard anything about the next world to open up. She finished her plate, and picked at what remained of the fruit on the table.
"Thank you, again, for going through all this effort, I hope none of it goes to waste," she expressed her gratitude again, motioning to the remaining delicious brunch foods.

"Oh," he reassured Lenne, rolling up his sleeves so he could wash the dishes, "believe me, it won't. Tidus is a big eater." It was part of the reason as to why he'd made so much food, after all. "And really, it's no trouble. I like cooking."
no subject
She laughed when she was assured the others would enjoy the food, and brought her remaining dishes to the kitchen to clean them up. Lenne still felt a bit odd, and more than a little guilty, that she hadn't come by to see Yuna, her friend, sooner. At that point, though, she was very much full of good food and tea and juice. And that would always do wonders for her mood. "I'm grateful all the same," she reiterated. "Cooking really isn't my strength," she added with another laugh.
"Anything else I can do to help clean up?"

He loved adventures, and the prospect of having one with a new friend only heightened the excitement. The Doctor made his way over to the coat rack and put on his jacket. "So," he told the singer with a smile, "why don't you tell me about yourself?"
