I'd do anything for love... but doing that may not have been the best idea [completed]

Character(s): Vyers, Gwen, Genie, Urd
Content: Date + Contest = Disaster
Setting: Elysian Fields
Time: Week 28, night
Warnings: none!

His arm entwined with Gwen's, Vyers couldn't help but wonder just what he had gotten himself into. He hadn't been expecting so many offers to help over the journals. Really, all he had wanted was a suggestion so he would be able to take her out to dinner. Although now that he thought about it, he really should have known, shouldn't he? He himself had noticed a few similar entries on the network from time to time, hadn't he?

Vyers supposed he should be somewhat grateful for Urd and Genie's offers to help, but instead he felt quite nervous about the whole thing. There was some sense of foreboding deep down that he couldn't shake about this whole thing, as though something--or many things--were about to go horribly wrong. He tried to keep his worries to himself, however, and keep Gwen from noticing.

He needed to be more optimistic, that was all. Everything would go just fine.

He didn't really believe himself.

Gwen’s decision left Genie feeling as giddy as a school girl. His eyes immediately lit up and smile stretched as large as his face itself. He could have easily picked the woman up and hugged her right then and there. Why, had he not had a table to now wait on, he would have danced too. Not that he was one to brag. No, definitely not. Such celebration would only be a form of expressing his gratitude… And, perhaps, a little for the result of his victory over Urd. But he tried to keep in mind that they were on the same side. Regardless who ‘won’ this little competition the result of their efforts was to insure their guests felt the sparks of romance. There was no assurance that Genie’s competitive nature would not over look such fact later on but it was to be noted he had taken such into consideration at one point.

Following closely behind the couple as they head to his table the genie did his best to contain himself. On the way, he looked to Urd who appeared less than impressed by their guest’s decision. In return, he simply shared a smug grin before turning to tend to the couple again. He tucked both Vyers and Gwen in once they reached their table, surprised to find Urd already there once he had finished. His eyes travelled down to the bottle that had appeared on his table, narrowing as the goddess spoke. She was really pushing that wine. This concerned him but fortunately for Urd not nearly enough for him to intrude. Turning to Gwen, Genie took the opportunity to offer the lady a drink.

“Should you prefer a lighter wine than Urd has selected I have chilled a fine white wine for you as well.” he assured her, displaying the bottle in his hold.
