AIN'T NO PARTY LIKE IROH'S TEA PARTY CUZ IROH'S TEA PARTY DON'T STOP! [Active][Open]

Character(s): Iroh, OPEN OPEN OPEN
Content: Iroh hosts a tea party at his joint. Conversations ensue.
Setting: The Golden Turtle
Time: Mid-Afternoon, Week 31
Warnings: Will update as it goes.

A few more strokes of the broom against the floor shoved the last plumes of dirt away into the bare streets. Iroh twirled it from one hand to the other and placed it away in the corner of the room, flooded with sunlight and warmth. "All ready!" he announced with excitement, looking over the front door banner that read WELCOME TO THE GOLDEN TURTLE TEA PARTY!

Toph walked in to the tea shop with a small smile on her face. She could feel that Iroh was there, and she took a seat at a nearby table and propped her feet up on it, leaning back in her chair.

"It's been a while since we had tea, huh?" She spoke loudly, trying to get the old man's attention.

Iroh turned back to her as the teapots assembled across a stovepot were beginning to whistle back at him. "Miss Bei Fong! I had been expecting you! Excuse me for one moment!" he shouted back at her over the steamy squeals. He threaded his hand underneath the handles of them and moved them all at once to a cooling spot covered with thick mats.

He approached her and asked, "What can I serve one of my favorite customers?"

"Do you have the kind we had when we met? That was good!" Toph pulled her legs back and leaned forward. "Looks like you've been getting a lot of business. Glad I can help." She grinned and slammed some emerald leaves on the table.

"Of course. It is one of my favorites as well," he said while walking back to the counter and dropping a bag full of leaves into a hot kettle. When he came back to the table, he noted to Toph, "I know the party is quiet at the moment, but will you make an effort to be social when more people come in? I fear I won't be able to come and sit by this table the whole afternoon." He tried to mask the heartbreak in his voice of asking this kind of favor.

"I guess you will be pretty busy, huh? Yeah, sure." Iroh was pretty good at masking his voice, but she could hear something wrong. "But only if we do something after the party." She grinned and took a sip of her tea. Just like last time. Delicious!

"Are you the only one working here? This place is pretty big."

"I have a feeling I will be soon enough," he said, feeling relieved to see that Toph had accepted his offer, "I will be glad to escort you after I get through with business here. I have been wanting to see your earthbending techniques again for some time."

He shuffled across to refill a glass for another customer, quickly coming back to re-enter the conversation. "I am, but I find that it is easier to consider this a hobby rather than a job."

"I'm glad you're having fun with it." Toph of course, would never find manning a shop as being fun, but to each their own. Then again, working with Iroh might actually be enjoyable.

"Well, if you ever need a little help, give me a call. You can pay me with tea." Toph really didn't see a reason to get paid in the jewels of the cities since they literally grew out of the trees.

Toph slowly drank her tea, taking in the delicate flavor. So far, there weren't a lot of people here, but she'd be walking around once there were more people.

"Oh, I do what I can. That is the true aim of life: to find something you enjoy for as long as you live. It only gets better if it is something you can share with others," he advised Toph, "Maybe you can teach people how to earthbend almost as good as you can!"

"I would love to hire you as a helper. I will let you know when I really get in deep," he offered.

Toph laughed. "I don't know. It's hard enough to teach Twinkletoes!"

"I'll be around. It's not like I can do anything else around here." Toph sipped more of her tea. "Well, I'm off to see what everyone else here is up to." She hopped off the seat and grabbed her tea, moving to the closest person she could find.

Iroh gave a high arch to one of his eyebrows. "Twinkletoes?" he queried. The gears in his head gave a quick turn against each other and then produced a clear answer to his own question. "Oh, you mean Aang!" He never thought of someone being close enough to the Avatar that he would come into such an interesting nickname; then again, if there would be anyone who could do so without any repercussion, it would be Toph Bei Fong.

"Have fun! Do try not to engage in battle...and if you do, please do take it outside," he offered, fearing the worst.
