We're not in Halloween Town anymore (Active / Open)
Character(s): Larsa, Gabranth, and anyone who wants to run into them
Content: Exploring Spira
Setting: Spira
Time: Day, Week 23
Warnings: TBA
Larsa wasn't much of an explorer by himself, but that was the nice thing about having a companion from home with him here: his guardian was more than willing to follow him. So, the young emperor had made it quite clear that he was going to look at this new floor. It wasn't quite what he'd expected. While the others had seemed fairly small and easy to pass through, this one looked very large, more so than he'd expected.
Glancing around to get his bearings in this forest, he made sure Gabranth was nearby before taking a few steps forward. "Shall we continue?"

"Aye," he answered with a nod.

But when she'd seen the other door, she hadn't thought too much about simply going through. Dangerous? Maybe, but she could handle it. If nothing else, she could simply use her portal spell to escape quickly.
The place she stepped into was so utterly... different. A sky that stretched on to forever, real plants and animals, the smell of grass and flowers and trees and open air. Neirenn hadn't seen anything like it since she'd been traveling with the others. Still it wouldn't do to drop her guard--looking around, she spotted a young boy in finery and a tall man all in armor. "Ah... hello there," she said, stepping forward. Judging by their appearance, they must have been rather important back in their homeworld.

He'd made it a couple of steps when he heard someone's voice. Turning to address the young lady, Larsa smiled in response. "Hello. Are you here to explore as well?"
no subject
For now, however he would actually speak, save to offer a polite nod in her direction.

"That's right," Neirenn said with a nod and a bit of a grin. She looked around again, marveling at the vast landscape. She had a difficult time believing that this was just a floor inside a castle--it seemed more like a portal to another world entirely. Her mind was alive with questions. How far did it extend? Did it just create itself as people moved around in it? Would it be populated with 'people' like the ones that lived in Paixao itself--was it based on somewhere real?
The only way to begin finding answers would be to explore. "My name is Neirenn," she went on. "I'm very good at magic--combat magic and utility magic--so I won't slow you down if you don't mind me coming with you. I'd rather not explore this place without any company." It was a statement of fact, but there was still an unmistakable note of pride in her voice. She just hoped they didn't assume that healing magic was included as well.
A curious look was directed at the boy's silent, armored companion, but someone in that kind of clothing would naturally have a guard of some sort.
it's okay! I can't say anything about tag speed |D;
Unfortunately for Neirenn, Larsa did assume as much, but he didn't say so right away. "A mage would be greatly appreciated on our journey. I welcome your aid if you are willing to give it. Dangers unseen lurk about these places. A group is much better than traveling on one's own."
He offered the kind lady a smile again before sweeping his hand out in front of them. "Shall we?"
no subject
"It is as he says," Gabranth answered with a slight nod. "More would not go amiss."
no subject
She glanced back at the armored man, though, almost surprised that he had spoken. "Is it all right if I ask your name?" Just thinking of him as a knight or 'the armored man' seemed awkward to her. Although if he was reticent she could just default to calling him sir, she preferred being on a first-name basis with people.

"Lady Neirenn, if you do not mind my asking, I would be interested in learning how long you have resided in the city."
no subject
Not that he particularly expected her to be familiar with the term, but it was nonetheless what he was, even here. A Judge didn't cease to be so were he removed from Archades, or indeed, his world and so he would continue to introduce himself as such. If there were questions on what a judge did, those he would happily explain.

Larsa's own question, though, was a bit of a tricky one. "Well... I can't answer that for sure," she admitted, rubbing her wrist. "I was here for a few weeks, and then I wound up back at home again. I'm not sure how long I was gone from here, but I've been here for over a month since then."
no subject
However, Neirenn's response to his question caught his attention, though. "You, as well, have found yourself returned home and then here? My own answer is similar. I was here for a few weeks, returned home, and then I was returned to this city. If only we could discover a way to return home permanently and take others with us."
no subject
But this were things that he saw no need to volunteer.
"Aye," he agreed. "'Twould be a great convenience."

She sighed, looking around for any sign of hostility as she walked, thinking of bandits more than wild creatures. "I'd like to find a reliable way to get home as well, but at the same time, I think there's a lot to be learned in this place." She was already trying to further her research on magical healing, but more than that, the infinite worlds people seemed to come from--it was too fascinating for Neirenn to desire a permanent return.
