Casanova in Training [completed]

Character(s): Vyers and Roxas (eventually Timon and others?)
Content: Vyers decides to give Roxas a little friendly advice.
Setting: Vyers' place
Time: Noonish, week 22, before Larxene's journal entry
Warnings: Lulz

It was impossible for Vyers not to notice the commonality between Roxas's friends: they were both female. For him to have gained the close friendship of two lovely young ladies so quickly and to be so close showed quite a bit of promise for his success in further endeavors later on. While he seemed to have a natural attraction going for him, such skills needed to be honed and controlled, and with someone like Timon teaching him, the boy was likely to lose them altogether.

Luckily for Roxas there was someone like Vyers around, someone who knew well how to treat and capture the heart of a young lady.

"Roxas, may I speak with you a moment?" the demon asked once he managed to find the boy.

As usual, Roxas was sitting on the sofa in the living room, thinking to himself. That was all he ever really did unless he went out, or he was hanging with Timon and Simba. What was out of the ordinary, though, was Vyers wanting to talk to him. Roxas kept mostly to himself around the demon, so it was weird to be approached by him.

"Uh...sure..." he said, looking up at Vyers from his seat.

"Huh? Talk to...girls?" That...was not what Roxas had been expecting. Then again, Roxas really hadn't known what to expect at all. "What's wrong with the way I talk to them now?"

"I'm...not sure what you mean. Why would my feelings change?" That didn't make any sense to the blond at all. The wink didn't help any either, or the finger wagging. He liked Xion and Naminé just fine, why should he change that?

"I don't get what you're talking about," Roxas answered. He was really, really lost. "But...if you say it's going to happen anyway, I guess it's best if I'm ready for it..."

"Uh...I'm not sure..." Roxas was dumbstruck by the light that had briefly flashed behind Vyers. He didn't really know what to make of it, so he had only half listened to the demon's question.

"I...don't know what I'm supposed to be guessing about," Roxas admitted, sounding a little disconcerted. "And why would I get a girl angry? Wouldn't it be easier not to do that in the first place, so I don't have to run away at all?"

Roxas couldn't help but feel like he'd had a conversation like this with someone before. And something nagged him in the back of his mind that girls were just weird.

But he was pretty sure that wasn't what Vyers wanted to hear. Then again...what did Vyers want to hear? He'd gotten Roxas so lost already that the blond didn't know which way was up--at least, as far as girls were concerned. The kid didn't even notice he wasn't saying anything.

"Huh?" Roxas took a second to figure out what Vyers had just asked him, and looked completely lost for the few moments it took him to do so. "Oh. Uh...I should be really nice to them?"

The blond really hoped that was right, because he had the feeling that Vyers would talk his ear off if it wasn't.

The blond scratched his head. "Uh..." However, he found himself drawing a blank, and couldn't say more than that single, nonverbal syllable. It was almost a challenge even to summon up that much.

Why was he doing this again?

In a sudden moment of understanding (or of wanting Vyers to get off his back), Roxas nodded. "Compliments. Right."

And then the moment was gone. "But...what are they the key to?"

"Her heart? Why would I want the key to a woman's heart? What am I supposed to do with something like that?"

At least Vyers was starting to make a little more sense now.

"Until a girl's captured mine? What's that mean?" Roxas didn't like the sound of his heart being held captive by anyone, much less a girl.

Roxas couldn't even imagine what Vyers was talking about. The only time his heartbeat ever got faster was when something bad was happening, and the only thing that ever stayed on his mind was the fact his memories were missing. And he had no idea what a flower looked like when it was blooming.

"Oh...right." He looked at his hands for a second. "So...it happens to everybody?"
