What, we all wonder, is a goddess' weakness? [Active]

Character(s): Xemnas, Urd
Content: In the early night air, the Superior takes a peek into the memories of a certain goddess.
Setting: ....some city streets.
Time: Early evening
Warnings: Scheming? lol. Angry goddess? IDK.

There was always work to be done in regards to Paixao, in regards to the people; and certainly they had a variety of such to take into account. One could never be too sure what they had to work with in terms of specimens, and as a blossom of darkness broke away in the night air, depositing that of the Superior, Xemnas was determined to find out.

At least, of course, one of the more enigmatic of specimens.

Gods and goddesses, they had few. They did well at drawing attention to themselves, but he would continue to brush off the more.. active of sorts and lean towards that of the female called Urd.

Cloaked in black, with only a smirk revealed beneath the hood of his robe, Xemnas once again graces the streets. There is nothing subtle about this night, but the goddess would surely not be able to notice him right away, for wherever it was she stood, she was surrounded by Sorcerer Nobodies.

Urd had been enjoying the crisp evening air and the scenic view of the city from her rooftop garden at Iriela Apartments. She called it a garden but it was really more a meticulously manicured landscape of trees and flowers and some plants only Urd and Belldandy seemed to know anything about. Perched on a large, flat boulder under a blossoming cherry tree, she watched the light of the day dim with contemplative silence. Truthfully, her mind had been occupied lately about a variety of matters: her sister and her separation from the man she loved, the demons who were grieving for a lost loved one...and, as usual, Genie was never far from her mind. Lips curved into a small self-deprecating smirk, she lowered her head and sighed.

When she lifted her head again, she found she wasn't alone.

Biting off an unladylike curse, Urd immediately flew up, through the branches of the tree shading her, scattering delicate cherry blossoms. How had she not sensed them!? There were at least six, whatever they were. She may not have known where they came from or what they were, but she had enough instinct to know they weren't a good thing. In the few seconds since they arrived and Urd had leaped high into the air, she crossed her arms and summoned her magic. Electricity crackled around her and lightening split the sky, arcing down to the ground to hopefully shock the ghostly figures coming towards her...

...but things were never that easy. Translucent cubes appeared out of nowhere to shield the creatures, turning red briefly. Some kind of magic barrier? Oh, that was not good. The bulk of her prowess in a fight came down to significant magical power -- she had very few options for a strictly physical showdown. Perhaps it was a simple case of degree...a more powerful spell would be more effective, surely.

Staying still wasn't an option, she knew that much. Urd quickly darted from her spot in the sky, heading down to the roof once more to dodge whatever attacks came her way.

It was hard to do real physical damage to a goddess...usually. It might have been Paixao's unique environment or Urd's muddled connection to Yggdrasil, the source of her divine power, but whatever the reason, she was unable to deflect many of the cubes coming at her. And they hurt. Grunting as the wind was knocked out of her, she hunched over and raised her arms. It was too late to do any physical attacks, the creatures being this tight around her, the odd cubes keeping her down. There could still be one last ditch effort, though...

Between her raised arms, a ball of fuschia light grew, lightening cracking around it. This was one of her more serious spells and it showed by the effort on Urd's face as she concentrated on containing the power into one dense ball. Wordlessly, she tossed it in one direction, hoping to scatter the creatures like bowling balls. Unfortunately, the spell went right through them, skidding across the roof and tearing a path through the garden before finally exploding in a bright burst of light.

"Damn it..." she gasped, crossing her arms in front of her face and assuming a defensive posture as the cubes tightened their attacks.

Behind her arms, Urd's eyes widened at the odd sensation of another consciousness going through her. However brief it may have been, it was wholly unpleasant and a complete violation that disturbed her on more than a few levels, if only because of the sheer lack of emotion she sensed. Who was this? As soon as the Sorcerers stopped, she wasted no time in shooting up from the roof, barreling through the Nobodies. From the high vantage point, she saw him, finally -- black coat, hood drawn up over his head. His voice was nothing she'd ever heard, no one she recognized. Gritting her teeth, she darted down toward him, head first, before flipping once to aim her foot right for his head.

"Come on!" she growled, closing the distance.

As soon as her foot connected to the wall and the force pushed her back, Urd flipped backwards and landed on her feet, sliding over the dirt and grass of her garden. Fairly snarling now, she sped towards him once again. As she closed the distance, a bright glow emanated from her back, the upper half of a woman appearing quickly, her black and white wings spread. Both goddess and angel narrowed their eyes as Urd summoned twin fireballs, quickly lobbing them at the hooded man.

"I'm no one's pawn!"

She cried out in triumph as her fire actually seemed to do some damage. She ascended into the sky once more, lightening crackling around her, her angel poised in a battle ready stance. Urd's victory was painfully short lived as she saw the burst of shadow envelop her attacker. Her stomach flipped at the feel of a hand on her shoulder -- she was too reckless, too caught up in that small moment of triumph. She turned her head slowly to gaze up at him in shock and dismay, wordless. Luckily enough, before she can snap out of it, he was already gone.

Urd slowly lowered to the ruined garden, head bowed. Behind her, World of Elegance screwed her eyes shut, trembling very slightly.

((Sounds good to me. XD I'm gonna see if Belldandy wants to come see the aftermath. Thanks for the fun~))

That much energy that Belldandy sensed had to mean that Urd was in trouble; she wasn't the type to summon that much power for no reason at all, even if she had a reputation for being reckless. In a flurry of crystal flower petals forming a reflective surface, Belldandy made her entrance wearing her battle uniform, attempting to catch her Nee-san before she fell to the ground. "Nee-san, Nee-san!" She cried out, "What happened?! Quickly, allow me to heal you!" Belldandy concentrated her spell algorithms into Urd's wounds... typically on the surface world, a goddess needn't worry about being physical injured to the point of terrible given that they were tenth dimensional beings... then again, this wasn't the surface world, and Urd had already warned her about powerful beings in this world.

"Who did this to you...?"

Head still bowed, Urd gently grasped one of Belldandy's wrists. "I'm alright," she said quietly, even as World of Elegance hovered over them with a distressed expression on her face. "I don't have any wounds." She lifted her head to give her sister a reassuring smile that ended up weaker than she would have liked. Standing from her kneeling position, she laced her fingers through the faintly glowing fingers of her angel and nodded. World of Elegance frowned slightly but nodded back, lowering her head as she faded.

Turning back to Belldandy, Urd smiled once more, eyes dark with some emotion not readily available in her expression or voice. "I'm okay, really." She turned away again, her hair serving as a convenient way to hide her simmering gaze.

"...we have a problem."
