A Genie and a Goddess Walk Into A Bar... [Complete]
Character(s): Urd, Genie
Content: Urd goes house hunting and hangs out with Genie
Setting: ...kind of all over the place?
Time: Afternoon, Week 6
Warnings: None!
High above the roofs of the city's buildings, Urd floated in place. She was nearly touching the intricately painted and engineered dome sky. She scanned the streets and houses below before lowering her altitude slightly, flying forward.
Where would be a good place to set up a home away from home? She wanted to be in the heart of all the action, but the action seemed spread throughout the city. It was a shame she couldn't live up here somehow. She'd be able to keep her eye on everything that way.
Urd smiled to herself, long white hair streaming out behind her as she flew. A tall building would do. Perhaps one of the more expensive looking hotels? Even without any faux foliage or real money, she had confidence enough in charming her way in. And she could always lie a little...if she really wanted.
And if she found herself next to some of the interesting people she'd already come across over the journals, that would be even better.

Another pause, and when she spoke next, there was a hint of some unexpressed emotion in her voice...fear or anger or sadness, it was hard to discern. "It may never happen; probably never will, but...if there comes a time when I'm corrupted, when I've been turned to the darkness, you're the only one in this city who could stop me, I think." She lifted her gaze to his again, the mask of calm composure slipping around the edges. "Please...please, do everything you can to stop me if that happens. I don't want to hurt anyone, I don't want to..." She couldn't finish the sentence. Instead, she rushed on. "I can be sealed into items by high level magic -- would you do that for me?"
She was asking so much, she knew, of a person she'd only just met. As far as social guidelines went, the goddess had committed a faux pas, revealing more of her worries and fears than she should. And, truthfully, she was worried she'd put him off for good, made him uncomfortable to the point where he'd want to stay away. She could only hope the kindness and power she felt from him would be enough to preserve their fledgling friendship.
