A Royal Arrival [Complete]
Character(s): Zelda, NiGHTS
Content: Zelda arrives in Paixao.
Setting: Vanaheim gate
Time: afternoon
Warnings: none
Zelda opened her eyes and blocked out the sun with a hand, temporarily blinded by the light. As her vision, so used to dreary rain and twilight, grew accustomed to the harsh afternoon light, she tried to ascertain where she was. She saw before her a spectacular domed area, perhaps a village or town, and a short line to enter. Bewildered, she moved to the back of the line. Perhaps the guard would have information.
The guard was a surprisingly young woman with pale blue eyes and short blond hair. She smiled brightly at Zelda, but showed no recognition. "Welcome to Paixao, ma'am!"
An ivory-colored contraption was held out to her, and she took it, turning it over in her hands as she tried to figure out what it was.
"Your journal," the guard provided.
"Do you know how I arrived here?" Zelda asked.
"Sorry, ma'am," the guard said, and moved on to the next in line.
Well, she couldn't have expected a guard to know all of the workings of her realm anyway, or have any idea who she was, as this was certainly not Hyrule. She continued inside--Paixao, was it?--and was stunned. This was absolutely massive, beyond even the Castle Town. What sort of country could support such a place? Even the trees glittered. She hardly knew where to go first. But she could not stand there gaping. She moved forward, deeper into the town.

no subject
She refrained from mentioning her royal status; there were times when it seemed to push her above others, and made them less willing to speak normally to her. In such a place as this, she did not want to take the chance, even though she suspected NiGHTS wouldn't have cared either way.
