Foundation Day Festival: At the Entrance

Character(s): everyone entering the festival by the gate
Content: weapons confiscation, greetings, etc.
Setting: Joco da Crianca Fairgrounds, entrance
Time: all day~
Warnings: Multithreaded posting format (please include time of day and sub-location in your comment's subject line)

For the festival, the Jogo da Crianca fairgrounds have been ringed by a modular eight-foot-tall iron-bar fence. Signs all around the vicinity point to the entrance, which is the only large gap in the fence. Because this is Paixao, there is a line to get in, but it moves quickly.

At the front of the line is a small security team; as people enter, they are asked to check their weapons or dangerous items with festival staff. Once unarmed, they are given a receipt to pick up their items on the way out, as well as one complimentary raffle ticket, and are allowed to proceed into the fairgrounds.

Just inside the entrance are two tents, one labeled "SECURITY / LOST AND FOUND," and the other labeled with "FIRST AID" and a large red cross.

In line - about 9 AM

Waiting in line didn't mean an awful lot to Rikku, since as small as she was she could normally just cut without anybody even noticing. Actually, she thought as she looked around the person in front of her, she could've just gone over the fence, if she'd been by herself, or just with Yuna and Paine.

But she was with her other, newer friends, Rakka and Stitch, and as they couldn't very well fly over the fence, it wouldn't be fair for her to sneak in without them. So she waited between people bigger than her, or more often above them or off to the side to minimize the chance of getting squished between them.

To pass the time while the line moved forward, she entertained herself by alternately looking over the tops of people's heads, and floating excitedly around Rakka and Stitch. "Oooh, I can't wait!" she exclaimed, grinning. "This is gonna be so much fun! I love parties! You guys love parties too, right?"

Not like they'd say no, since they were all in line for one, right?

Rakka was all but bouncing in her place in line, peeking around those in front of her to look into the grounds, and jumping forward whenever the line moved. How lucky was she, dropping into Paixao the day before an event like this? It was enough to take her mind off of trying to figure out what she was going to do to get back home.

"Glie never had anything like this," Rakka said, grinning ear to ear. It was true--the New Year celebration was the closest thing to it, and it was a subdued holiday. "I can't wait!"

Stitch looked around and found a light pole to climb up. From the top, he looked around to see all the people.

"So many people! It's like a luau!" He shouted before backflipping off the pole to land back on the ground. "Come on, lets go!"
