Little Red Riding Hood is lost~ [Complete]

Character(s): Gunzi, Larxene and eventually Linali.
Content: Gunzi enters the city; after an odd encounter with the gatekeeper, he is dropped off a few miles away from it and then left all on his lonesome.
Setting: A little ways into Joutenheim.
Time: Night.
Warnings: Drug references, Gunzi going after someone... and knowing Larxene, uh, there's gonna be a lot.

What an odd place.

It almost hurt Gunzi's eyes. It was night, but it was a much brighter night than he was used to; AREA: RAY had been so dark and dismal... he had to admit that it was a nice change. And there seemed to be grass and trees and all sorts of interesting things around here... they hadn't had those in AREA: RAY, either. If he had really cared, he would have gone over and inspected the foreign nature--as everything where he came from had been killed off long ago--but he had more interesting things to attend to.

Standing in front of the gates with his mouth half open, tongue out, he seemed to stare up at the big, odd looking gate with a sense of awe spread across his face--well, it would have seemed like that had his eyes not been hidden by his hair and hood. He licked his lips and giggled softly, tilting his head down to look ahead of him. There was a long line of many people... something in him silently questioned what all of this was, but something as nonsensical as all of these seemed could easily be talked up to a little bit of drugs.

That was it. He was probably just imagining this all. The red-hooded man was finding himself stifling another chuckle as he clenched his hands opened and closed, flexing the tight, overworked veins in his arms, confident with his assumption, fearless of his new surroundings, as unfamiliar as they were. He took a step forward, advancing in the line, and then finally, it was his turn.

"Name?" the individual at the gate questioned the blond, while simultaneously shoving a metallic, red object toward him--he quickly reached up a hand to catch it without giving it a glance, and closed his mouth in a thoughtful expression (biting down on his tongue).

Not even bothering to give it a single once-over, Gunzi seemed more interested in the man who had given it to him rather than the object itself. "Heeheehee," was the most coherent thing he could apparently muster, and he took a step toward the man. His head canted, neck craning--he seemed to be quite interested in invading his personal space.

The gatekeeper was a bit taken aback by this, but only laughed nervously, and repeated his question. "Name, sir?"

"Nyeeeh," His tongue lolled and its tip twitched--it seemed he was threatening to lick the man's face, inching dangerously closer moment by moment. One would have thought working at a gate in Paixao would cause the citizens to become a bit jaded toward odd individuals such as Gunzi, but... the man seemed to be getting downright terrified.

"Please," the man insisted, clearing his throat and stepping back. "Please, your name...?"

Emitting an odd, growl-like noise, Gunzi suddenly bolted forward, like a cat springing from its crouching position. His arms lifted, wrists arched and fingers curled as if he were an animal of some sort, aiming to use them to rip and rend his prey. It seemed he intended to pounce the man, but just as he was abut to make contact--he felt arms around his shoulders on either side, tugging him back and restraining him. A pair of guards that stood by the gate came to the keeper's aid.

His head thrashed wildly, obviously not used to being restrained when he wanted to "play." Growling in frustration, his jerky, violent movements caused his hood to fall back and his hair to reveal his intense blue eyes, wide with rage. The two men kept a firm hold on him though, forcing him back and away from the humble man who he had gone after, who stood there shaking and curled into himself, absolutely shaken from that encounter.

Gunzi was dragged off, into the city. When he was far enough from the gate to be properly disoriented and unable to find his way back, he was roughly shoved out of their grasps and onto the ground, his backside contacting with the hard pebbled road--causing him to emit a soft, "Oomph."

Entirely confused, he surprisingly didn't find the urge to get up and follow them. Slowly, they backed away facing him (to make sure that he did not follow), but the only thing the blond did was sit up, wobbly, and place his palms down between his outstretched legs, claws clicking down on the rocks below him, tilting his head slowly--observing them like a curious animal as they slowly left him to his own devices. His blond hair half-covered his face again, his bright blue shining through them, intense as ever as he stared on, glimmering beautifully in the way heroin eyes tended to do.

He laughed. "Heeeeeeeeeeeheeeehehehehehe. Hee. Hehe."

Hello~ :x

Those hundred seconds began when Linali, not thinking twice, jumped out her room's balcony window and shot into the 'sky.' She had previously marked the direction she was to travel while waiting for Rabi, and pivoted in mid-air, preparing to excel the speed of sound.

A clump of air, only visible by the dust particles ravaging within, formed behind her boots. On this base, she rocketed off towards block L8. Thirty seconds later, she landed in the middle of the road just a turn away from Gunzi and the Lumberjack.

"Gunzi? Gunzi! Where are you?"

Someone else was coming... But who would know that the two of them where there?

Ah, maybe it was that stupid little humanitarian (http://soundsplitter.livejournal.com/) she had spoken to earlier. So she was actually being serious in saying that she'd be there in less than two minutes. What was her name again? Larxene tried to recall it, but it just wasn't coming to her. Oh well, no big loss. "Stupid Humanitarian" worked just fine in the meantime.

"Look Little Red Riding Hood, someone new for you to play with!" she said, gesturing at the direction the voice had come from. "Why don't you go see who it is? But remember, there could still be more wolves out there... hiding, and disguising themselves as regular people."

[identity profile] soundsplitter.livejournal.com 2006-09-10 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
She heard him calling, and her feet briskly took her toward his voice. Her hair flew in all directions as she twisted and turned, worried for Gunzi's well-being, but there he was! Still standing. Seeing the red-hooded man in one piece made her feel as if a stone was lifted from her chest. What a relief! she silently pronounced, brightly smiling. Yet.. the happiness fled once Linali noticed the blood dripping down his face and arm. She ran, face riddled with distress.

"Gunzi! Oh no, you..you're hurt!" she took his arm, searching for the gash; then reached a hand to his face, carefully wiping the excess blood off his cheek. "Gunzi.. I-I'm so sorry..I came too late...!" she lamented, sounding as if she was going to cry.

Linali looked behind him and saw the fallen Lumen. Her eyes widened, impacted with the profuse puddles of glowing liquid. Was that its blood...? Next to the white creature was who she knew was the Lumberjack. She could not repress a scowl even if she knew better.

Stiffly, she greeted her, "Good evening."

[identity profile] thunderknives.livejournal.com 2006-09-11 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
With crossed arms and a bored expression on her face, Larxene raised an eyebrow and stared at Linali. "Oh, so it really was you." she said half-heartedly, noticing the surprised look she had upon noticing the remains of the lumen.

"What? This? It's nothing, just a stupid wolf who picked a fight with poor, innocent Little Red Riding Hood."

Kicking the body again, she walked away from Linali and headed right for the injured blonde man. "So, what's next for you then? Going to find more wolves to hunt? Or do you want to hang around the lumberjack some more. Or maybe..." She looked at Linali for a moment and grinned. "You'd like to be with your new friend?"

[identity profile] soundsplitter.livejournal.com 2006-09-11 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Linali smiled when Gunzi decided to go with her. She was only given a few fleeting moments to examine the man before the Lumberjack came over, smirking fiendishly.

Jagged bangs shadowed Linali's tumultuous eyes as she focused on the Nobody's stark face. The exorcist was clearly upset. First the chat she had minutes ago, then Gunzi's injuries, then Larxene's blatant apathy for the Lumen's corpse. As calmly as she could, she spoke to Larxene.

"What will happen to the wolf's body? Are you just going to leave it there?"

[identity profile] thunderknives.livejournal.com 2006-09-11 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
"It's not really my responsibility to bury it or anything. Just let it rot there until someone decides to throw it away like the trash it is." She said, looking at Linali. "Besides, I don't wanna get any of its weird blood all over my nice black coat."

She shifted her attention back to Little Red Riding Hood, who had opted to stay with the newcomer, which was fine with Larxene, not like she really cared about what he did. But just to make things more interesting...

"Would you like the lumberjack to come with you for the night? Just to make sure that no more wolves attack you while you're injured." She looked at Linali and smiled at her, though there was no happiness at all behind it. "You wouldn't mind that, right?"

[identity profile] soundsplitter.livejournal.com 2006-09-11 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
Linali cast her head downwards, painfully gazing over the Lumen's dead body. She wanted to bury it even if it was the culprit of Gunzi's wounds; there had to be a reason for its aggressiveness. She wanted to clean the street too, wishing to avoid a warrant of some kind--if they had those here. Hopefully there wasn't, but still, an unclear conscience would remain in the girl's mind. But given her circumstances, her wishes could not and would not be granted. Thus, vexed, she put on a thin smile and returned to the current discussion.

"No, I wouldn't mind. In fact..." She paused to inhale, shutting her eyes then locking them onto Larxene's--not exactly for emphasis, but it was just a habit of the exorcist to look straight at the person she was speaking to. "...I was intending to invite you to have dinner with us. Would you be as so generous as to accept my offer?"

Linali bit her lip. She knew that she'd be sorry for this in the end, but she still had hope.

[identity profile] thunderknives.livejournal.com 2006-09-11 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
The Nobody could tell that Linali really didn't want to have anything to do with her. And yet, she continued being the polite little girl she'd known her to be. It was really an amusing sight, one that Larxene wanted to see how long it would last.

Like mentioned before in a different conversation with her; she wanted to provoke Linali by any means necessary. And her strategy was… To push, and to keep pushing until she got want she wanted. Having dinner with her and Gunzi was the perfect opportunity to just that.

"Why Linali." she responded, also staring right into her eyes. "I would love nothing more than to have dinner with my two new 'friends'."

What a great night this was turning out to be.

[identity profile] soundsplitter.livejournal.com 2006-09-11 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
The exorcist felt the black-coated woman's sarcasm. Would a person like her, who thrives on the misfortune of others, use the word friend? She spun around on her previous path before any regret showed on her face.

"We're going immediately! I bet you're famished... not to mention that I've got to patch you up!" she informed Gunzi turning to the side to look at him. Goodness, he was really handsome despi-- ...Linali inwardly slapped herself in the head. No time for this now. She cleared her throat. "Um...I hope you're fine with walking there..."

Trailing off, she skipped backwards in line with Gunzi. He was still bleeding; thus took it upon herself to stop that until they reach the hotel. She looked up at him with tender eyes and whispered, "I hope you don't mind if do this..." she rolled up his torn sleeve and tied is as much as she could over the laceration. Her eyes twitched slightly upon further observation. It was pretty big. After securing the makeshift pressure bandage, Linali gently pressed around the wound and held her hand there. "Does that hurt?"

[identity profile] thunderknives.livejournal.com 2006-09-12 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Rolling her eyes and sighing, Larxene crossed her arms and waited. Figures that Linali would continue the little humanitarian act and take care of Gunzi before going anywhere… She just couldn't see why it had to have been done now. It's not like he was missing an arm or anything like that. He only had a couple of scrapes and bruises here and there. That was it, nothing to get all alarmed about.

She noticed how Linali kept looking at him with those eyes of hers. Was she really... Nah, her stupidity had to have had some limits. Right? Then again, she held no expectations for anybody regarding their brilliance.

"Are you going to confess your love for him next? If you are, let me know so I can get a bucket to puke in."

[identity profile] soundsplitter.livejournal.com 2006-09-12 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Wh-what?! What makes you think that?" she stammered, roughly insulted. "I'm just curing his injuries! Does being kind equal liking someone in your mind? The thought!" Her frown was coated with embarassment. She flicked Gunzi's wound by accident, intending only to tap it, but the raw emotion affected her impulse.

She walked forward, completely giving her back to the other two. "Well, let's get going. The hotel restaurant doesn't remain open for the later hours."

[identity profile] thunderknives.livejournal.com 2006-09-12 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Haha, sure little girl, whatever you say." Finally, he was getting somewhere in wanting to make her get angry. But for her to get so worked up over such a small comment was actually pretty funny. She mental note of that and walked behind Linali.

"Yeah, lets, we wouldn't want to be caught all alone outside. Who knows what might happen..."

[identity profile] soundsplitter.livejournal.com 2006-09-12 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
The remainder of the journey to Actua Are was silent on the younger girl's part; Linali became apprehensive of tonight's dinner. She didn't regret inviting Larxene, but only hoped that she can keep calm. She was still flustered about the Nobody's comment. Did it really seem that way...? Ugh! The exorcist squeezed her eyes shut furiously and sighed, feeling resigned. I was just..

Oh, they were here already. The hotel was well-lit, and the restaurant was still open, thankfully. Lifting her spirits, Linali smiled and skipped forward to the base of the entrance stairs, waiting for her guests. "Hehe, we're here~"

[identity profile] thunderknives.livejournal.com 2006-09-13 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
"What are you so happy about?" Larxene wondered as she looked at the building she had been lead to. "So this is where you're staying huh? Doesn't look like much at all, but I guess even the homeless need a safe place to sleep in. Right?"

This would be Larxene's first time spending the night in a place like this. She'd have to remind herself to keep an eye on how things were going. If she could be bothered to do so while still picking on Linali, that is.

"I can hardly wait to see what kind of food we'll be served here. My mouth is already watering at the thought."

[identity profile] soundsplitter.livejournal.com 2006-09-13 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Linali ascended the stairs unrushed. The doorman pulled the door open, letting a gush of cool air sweep out into the lazy evening. The Paixaonese gestured towards the lobby with a gloved hand, nodding a good evening to the exorcist and the two new faces. Linali allowed her guests enter before her, and she followed behind after thanking the hotel serviceman.

"The restaurant is right down that hall," the Chinese girl said, heading that direction. "since you seem enthusiastic, I'll let you choose the dishes, Miss Lumberjack," she obliged calmly. The hotel eased her, and things were generally relaxed. Linali glanced at her hand; it was lightly caked with dry blood. She grimaced a little.

"...aaaand I'm going to wash my hands. There should be a reserved table for us. Just tell the usher that you're with Linali Li and he should take you to your seat. So go ahead; I'll be right with you!--oh, Gunzi... you might want to wash up a little!" she gave him a please-do-what-I-say look, which was hopefully transcieved. Linali was polite and all, but she was also hygienic. Bringing a guest smelling of blood wasn't her idea of pleasant.

[identity profile] thunderknives.livejournal.com 2006-09-14 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
While Larxene didn't really care about what they served here, she really had no idea what Linali and Little Red Riding Hood liked to eat. And yet it was up to her to pick out their meals for them...? Damn that Linali. Well, that was okay. Having to order their meals meant that she'd get to talk to more of the locals, and she already had an idea on how that would turn out.

"With pleasure." Grinning, she turned around and headed towards the restaurant. Once arriving there, Larxene noticed that all of the customers and employees present had suddenly turned their heads and were now looking at her.

"Oh wow, this quite a greeting for little ol' me!" The Nobody wandered over the counter. Behind it, there was an unsuspecting usher dressed in a white shirt and black slacks.

"Table for three." Larxene said, leaning on the counter. "I'm here with Linali Li."

"S-Sorry... but your kind i-isn't welcome here. Please leave immediately" The trembling waiter said, meekly.

"Oh?" She noticed that the customers were leaving the restaurant rather quickly and whispering things to themselves while doing so. "And here I thought this restaurant didn't discriminate against others." She replied, taking out her knives...

[identity profile] soundsplitter.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Cranberry water swirled into the drain, a fading pink trickling down chamois porcelain in thin sheets. Linali flicked her hands and dried her hands with semi-coarse generic tissue. She tidied her hair, smiling when she accomplished a pleasing result; then shuffled out the women's restroom to find group after group of people scurry out the hotel. Blinking, Linali hopped out and hurried herself to the restaurant.

"......well," she muttered awkwardly. There was Gunzi and Larxene sitting alone at a center table for three. Gunzi looked amused, and Larxene... Linali couldn't read her, although she seemed as if she expected this to happen. The exorcist walked over the table, glancing at the nervous waiter who gave her a look. She did something wrong, she knew it. But..what? Anyway...

"Wow... this never happened before. Usually the restaurant gets packed at this hour," she wondered allowed as she sat. "Um...so have you ordered yet?"
