In search of a history [Completed]

Character(s): Kanda and Raven
Content: Raven claims that the Paixao library holds nothing regarding the city's history. Kanda finds this hard to believe.
Setting: Os Dias Sao a Noite [K4]
Time: Saturday, Noon

As far as libraries went, this one wasn't bad. It wasn't particularly impressive, but that was mainly because he was so accustomed to the libraries belonging to the Church, and the Order. Compared to those buildings, any other library would seem diminutive. But he had more important things to be doing than staring at the architecture.

Kanda approached the double-doors of the front entrance, and grasped the door handles before pulling them back. The scent that hit him was the type always found in libraries like this-- slightly musty and dry. Since this was a welcome change from the light snow falling outside, Kanda wasted no time in slipping inside and shutting the doors behind him.

The warm colours within the library created a "warmer" atmosphere, despite the fact that the library was just about as cold as outside. Dry, yes. Warm, not quite.

Brushing bits of snow from his hair and clothes, what hadn't melted, Kanda took a glance around. As the exterior had suggested, the library was, in fact, on the large side. He wasn't exactly sure where to start, but he'd fix that soon. He tapped his snow-dusted boots on the floor, drying them off, before heading across the first floor in search of a cataloging device.

He was now the second person today to take notice of Raven's interest in that kind of topic. Not like it wasn't already obvious by the way she looked. Ah well, she was well used to people asking her about her interests before, so this wasn't really anything new for her. "Thought I'd at least pick out a book while I'm here. And it's something I specialize in. Like... a hobby."

Raven did indeed know many spells. Some were simple enough as curing types of petrifications. Others, were more advanced, such as being able to travel to other dimensions. The thought of using that particular spell had already come to here, but thanks to an unwanted lack of the required materials, was unable to cast it.

"Where I come from, witchcraft is hardly considered a hobby," Kanda commented, with a light snort. On the contrary, it would probably get the "hobbyist" strung up on a tree before she could get a word in edgewise. Particularly among exorcists and the church, alleged witches weren't taken too kindly. But, as for Kanda, he didn't particularly care. He'd never held the same contempt for "witches" as his European peers.

"Still, it's odd for that sort of book to be here," Kanda said, more to himself, as he took another glance around the library from where he stood. Then again, not knowing much about Paixao, he couldn't say what was odd and what wasn't.
