In which... [ CLOSED ]

Character(s): Rabi, Shunsui, Ashe, Isaac, and... uh, anyone else? (As if it wasn't hectic enough.)
Content: Rabi makes friends. His friends are looking for their friends. And their "friends" are trying to get the hell out of there. D:
Setting: Actua Are near the center of Paixao.
Time: Saturday Afternoon (after he reclaims his crack journal).
Warnings: None.

Not even a week later, Pie-sores was starting to bore him. As much as he liked the idea of having a place to stay (nobody knew they were dirt poor, and he wasn't about to tell them), the Actua Are wasn't all that exciting. And nobody had responded to their post about wanting a job. In other words, they were pretty much screwed.

It didn't help that Yuu had disappeared to God knows where. He hadn't seen him since the boy stole his journal, but now that he'd found it again he figured the exorcist was somewhere in the area. He wouldn't be surprised if "Sunshine" (and he now worshipped whoever coined the nickname) had taken off. At least he was kind enough to leave his journal behind.

And so it was that Rabi decided to go... exploring, for lack of a better term. He couldn't stand staying inside anyway, plus it gave him a chance to interact with people. If Yuu was around, he'd see him eventually. They were both broke. He probably hadn't gone far.

Like any explorer, Rabi felt he needed to make some kind of great discovery. Preferably one along the lines of "why the hell am I here?" He didn't have to look far for it, either; it was still early in the afternoon, and people were out and about. The bookman trainee saddled up next to a young blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman across the street from the Actua Are... who seemed completely oblivious until he finally cleared his throat and offered her a lopsided grin that in his mind said "hey baby" but in hers said "I'm stupid."

"So, how'd you get here?" he asked. It was a great ice breaker that could not only bring him one step closer to finding out where he was but might also proceed as such: "I'm lost, you're lost, let's both be lost together I'm staying at the Actua Are okay thank you."

Unfortunately, that's not how things worked here. Instead of answering his question, she merely raised an eyebrow and countered with: "...excuse me?" Rabi didn't catch on that she wasn't from another world.

"Well, I thought I was fighting some AKUMA, but outta nowhere I'm just... here, you know?" he said. "You probably don't know what AKUMA are, though, do you? See, where I come from..."

It wasn't until he got to his explanation (or was about to get to it) that he looked up and realized she wasn't even there. In fact, she was headed down the street at a brisk, "get me out of here"-pace.

The little grin on his face wilted and died. Even his hair drooped a little. So much for that.

[EDIT] This thread is now closed because we need to move on! Please to go Linali's thread.

The blood quickly rushes to her face as the man turns around and shows a face unlike the one she imagines to meet. They share a rather comical silence as the man blinks once, twice. In her mind, a jumble of ways to apologize rushes to her throat but none could come out of her mouth. Uh... I'm not 'Isaac,' but... for you, I can be? No one had ever dared to flirt with the only daughter of the King, and so the obvious flirting of the stranger was waved away as a simple gesture of kindness.

Ashe was rather glad that the man is still smiling even though she had been so rude at first impression. She manages a sheepish smile, still blushing from the embarassment of yelling at a total stranger. "I-no! Th-there is no need for you to be Isaac," she stutters then muttering under her breath as an afterthought, "it is bad enough as it is to have one of him walking around Paixao; two of him would be utterly unbearable." Then realizing that she has not apologized yet, she quickly bows much lower than she would ever allow herself to do back in Ivalice, "Forgive me, I believe I mistook you for someone else."

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
[ooc: actually, i'm bored so i need something to do x)]

Ashe is very glad that the man does not seem to be angry at all. No problem! Everyone looks the same here anyway. Guess I just stand out. She nods at his statement, "Yes, this Isaac has red hair just like you, sir." She finds it very interesting to see so many people with strange haircolors. Back in Ivalice, most people are either blonde or dark-haired, never anything else. She recounts that she has met two silver-haired person, two red-haired person and one blue-haired person.

Normally, she would move away when a stranger moves closer to her, but she thinks that it would be impolite to do so as the man had been so very kind to her. You owe me now, though! Stick around! You're not from around here either, are you? Correction, very awfully kind. "Well, I suppose so then," she returns his smile. "I am not from Paixao, and I guess you both are not either?" she regards the other man sitting across the red-haired man with a smile and a nod. "And actually, I am looking for a job as I am running quite short on money. I am able with swords, I can do intermediate white magic and well, just ask me what you might want me to work as and I shall see if I can do that."

"Ahh, who have we here? Someone lost as well?" Shunsui opened his arms in generous greeting, wearing his nicest smile, the pink sleeves on his arms flapping a little. He had been waiting for the right moment to speak; as lenient with rules as he was, it was incourteous--and unappealing-- to interrupt. "Yes, we could use your help! It's fortunate that you came along at this time."

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-04-29 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Ashe's face brightens up as the two men said that they will go with her. "I shall do my best to not disappoint you then, dear sirs!" she accents her words with an eager nod. Her days in Paixao are definitely getting better and better; first she had found a friend even though it was only through the journals and now she has found people she can travel with.

You wanna look for one together? We can fight too, you know! the red-haired man says. "I'm sure you both can fight. Better that I can, most probably," Ashe notices the weapons the two men have near them. "Looking for a job together sounds wonderful too, it is definitely pleasant to not be alone in a strange place."

Then realizing that she does not even know their names yet, she curtsies once more, "Oh my, where are my manners! I am Ashe Banalgan Dalmasca, but Ashe will suffice."

Shunsui told Rabi, "Why, yes!" because the redhead seemed to be looking to him for his opinion on the matter.

Then he stood up with a soundless step, sweeping his robes out just a bit. He bowed with a ruffle of fabric, and he removed his hat for politeness's sake, keeping it pressed to his chest. "Ashe Banalgan Dalamasca, it is such a -pleasure- to meet you. I'm Kyouraku Shunsui. May I kiss your hand?"

It didn't hurt to ask, right? Ashe was the first friendly female Shunsui had encountered here in Paixao so far.

Ashe Banalgan Dalamasca, it is such a -pleasure- to meet you. I'm Kyouraku Shunsui. May I kiss your hand? While she was used to offering her hand to men who bow before her, she had thought that asking so from someone who does not know of her title would be rude. After all, men are not interested in kissing the hands of common girls and she surely looks just like one here, considering the number of blonde-haired ladies roaming around. It is wonderful to have someone actually regarding her as worthy of a bow.

Ashe offers her hand to the man with a delighted smile, "I cannot see why not," she is starting to really like these two men. They are certainly much more polite and friendly compared to others she has met in Paixao.

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-04-30 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Shunsui was busy thinking about how girl hands always fit so -nicely- into his own, and how much sweeter and more delightful it would be running around with a girl in tow.

He vaguely heard Rabi giving his own introduction. The main thing on Shunsui's mind was whether or not Ashe liked to drink or not, and several methods of introducing her to sake just in case she preferred being sober. Shunsui let go of Ashe's hand and put his hat back over his brown hair. He had a large smile on his face.

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-05-01 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
You can call me Rabi, nice t'meet you! Ashe gives Rabi a nod, "Nice to meet you too, sir." Ashe thinks about how rare it is that she actually means to say those words; it is not everyday that she meets people she is very glad to be acquainted with. Even though she had come to them stomping like a mad elephant and yelling at the unknowing man like a shrieking crow, they are still so friendly to her; what more could she ask for?

"Well then, seeing that we would be travelling around together for some time, it would be wonderful if you two gentlemen can tell me more about yourselves."

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-01 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, poor Rabi. He seemed to be putting his foot in his mouth, for some reason. Perhaps he felt he was talking too much?

"Rabi has an interesting hammer!" Shunsui quipped, "I haven't seen him fight, but I'm certain that he's very skilled with it."

Shunsui started glancing the door, just once or twice, not enough to be suspicious. Shunsui was trying to figure out if the three of them were going to stay here. Outside was much better than inside for conversation, he thought. Except for the rain. But even the rainy outdoors would be more relaxing than these chairs, in this gaudy overexpensive atmosphere. Shunsui didn't like the heavy colors in the foyer. They reminded him too much of long, boring meetings.

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-05-02 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
Ashe giggles at how Rabi seems to be stumbling over his words while explaining to her about himself. He seems to be very interested in telling her so much but is afraid of talking too much at the same time. Shunsui was nice enough to add in to his explanation so that it would be complete without Rabi talking too much. Heh... sorry 'bout that. Ashe gives the both of them a wide smile.

"I cannot see anything to be sorry about, Rabi," then noticing the longing glances that Shunsui keeps on passing at the door, she turns to him, "Do you wish to leave?"

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-02 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh," Shunsui said, doing a little bow in case his glances at the door were being misinterpreted as rudeness. He was saddened that anyone would assume he wanted to leave them behind. "I was only thinking...There must be better places to chat? I can't help but wonder if we're entirely welcome here."

Even though his words might have seem worried, the way he said them certainly wasn't. In fact, his expression was softly apologetic, and his arms were relaxed at his sides.

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-05-03 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I was only thinking...There must be better places to chat? I can't help but wonder if we're entirely welcome here, Ashe looks around at her surroundings for a moment, trying to see what it was that made Shunsui so uncomfortable about staying inside. She finds nothing, but not wanting to offend her new-found companions, she just nods slowly in apprehension to his explanation, "I suppose we can go and continue our conversation someplace else," she makes sure to keep a subtle smile, "Is there somewhere either of you needs to be sometime today?"

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-03 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Shunsui confirmed his earlier suspicions by thinking about the lobby. Yes, velvet carpet, though very nice, was very expensive, and probably more for show than comfort. The wooden chairs were intricately carved...but those gorgeous grapevine designs dug into one's back. Even the bar, beyond the grand piano looked a little too shiny and polished for its own good, as if no one even -drank- there.

Not fun, not fun at all.

Of course, the big reason Shunsui wanted to see if there were any other hotels, was what their sake selection had to offer.

He continued to look friendly and interested in the conversation, even though he had nothing to add at that moment. Maybe, though, they'd end up looking for Rabi's lost friend. And as much as Shunsui liked goofing off, he also liked being included. Something was also nagging at the back of his head, something he needed to ask? Oh, what was it. If only his Nanao-chan were there to help him remember...oh yes! That was it. Shunsui needed to ask Rabi about that girl with glasses he'd mentioned earlier, when the opportunity arose.

"Hmm, I'm sorry but I don't think I have seen anyone like the one you described, but if you haven't tried already, posting on the Message Board is actually a good way to find people," while she had never found anyone she asked for through the Message Board, there were many others who did find their friends and relatives, so it should not be too bad. "I was actually planning on going around town to look for this someone I lost also, so maybe we can go and look together?"

So what he had happened to wander away from that party of idiots and find himself lost of weeks! So what he hadn't eaten in days and he looked more like a skeleton with each passing minute! So what he was... terribly lonely. None of that nonsense mattered, because he'd managed to find his way back to the city, somehow, they were probably still out there on that wild goosechase. Whatever they were chasing, heh, he'd never actually found out.

Hell hadn't changed much in his absence, still looked dark and unexciting, bah, people were still crossing the road to avoid him. Oh well, with pretty good reason, he looked gaunt, like some sort of walking corpse. Well, at least he'd managed to ditch that insane Ashe woman, tch, women out on a mission... It was worse than having to deal with Hector, and that's saying something!
