Ashe thinks about how rare it is that she actually means to say those words; it is not everyday that she meets people she is very glad to be acquainted with. Even though she had come to them stomping like a mad elephant and yelling at the unknowing man like a shrieking crow, they are still so friendly to her; what more could she ask for?
