In which... [ CLOSED ]

Character(s): Rabi, Shunsui, Ashe, Isaac, and... uh, anyone else? (As if it wasn't hectic enough.)
Content: Rabi makes friends. His friends are looking for their friends. And their "friends" are trying to get the hell out of there. D:
Setting: Actua Are near the center of Paixao.
Time: Saturday Afternoon (after he reclaims his crack journal).
Warnings: None.

Not even a week later, Pie-sores was starting to bore him. As much as he liked the idea of having a place to stay (nobody knew they were dirt poor, and he wasn't about to tell them), the Actua Are wasn't all that exciting. And nobody had responded to their post about wanting a job. In other words, they were pretty much screwed.

It didn't help that Yuu had disappeared to God knows where. He hadn't seen him since the boy stole his journal, but now that he'd found it again he figured the exorcist was somewhere in the area. He wouldn't be surprised if "Sunshine" (and he now worshipped whoever coined the nickname) had taken off. At least he was kind enough to leave his journal behind.

And so it was that Rabi decided to go... exploring, for lack of a better term. He couldn't stand staying inside anyway, plus it gave him a chance to interact with people. If Yuu was around, he'd see him eventually. They were both broke. He probably hadn't gone far.

Like any explorer, Rabi felt he needed to make some kind of great discovery. Preferably one along the lines of "why the hell am I here?" He didn't have to look far for it, either; it was still early in the afternoon, and people were out and about. The bookman trainee saddled up next to a young blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman across the street from the Actua Are... who seemed completely oblivious until he finally cleared his throat and offered her a lopsided grin that in his mind said "hey baby" but in hers said "I'm stupid."

"So, how'd you get here?" he asked. It was a great ice breaker that could not only bring him one step closer to finding out where he was but might also proceed as such: "I'm lost, you're lost, let's both be lost together I'm staying at the Actua Are okay thank you."

Unfortunately, that's not how things worked here. Instead of answering his question, she merely raised an eyebrow and countered with: "...excuse me?" Rabi didn't catch on that she wasn't from another world.

"Well, I thought I was fighting some AKUMA, but outta nowhere I'm just... here, you know?" he said. "You probably don't know what AKUMA are, though, do you? See, where I come from..."

It wasn't until he got to his explanation (or was about to get to it) that he looked up and realized she wasn't even there. In fact, she was headed down the street at a brisk, "get me out of here"-pace.

The little grin on his face wilted and died. Even his hair drooped a little. So much for that.

Aww, poor Rabi. He seemed to be putting his foot in his mouth, for some reason. Perhaps he felt he was talking too much?

"Rabi has an interesting hammer!" Shunsui quipped, "I haven't seen him fight, but I'm certain that he's very skilled with it."

Shunsui started glancing the door, just once or twice, not enough to be suspicious. Shunsui was trying to figure out if the three of them were going to stay here. Outside was much better than inside for conversation, he thought. Except for the rain. But even the rainy outdoors would be more relaxing than these chairs, in this gaudy overexpensive atmosphere. Shunsui didn't like the heavy colors in the foyer. They reminded him too much of long, boring meetings.

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-05-02 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
Ashe giggles at how Rabi seems to be stumbling over his words while explaining to her about himself. He seems to be very interested in telling her so much but is afraid of talking too much at the same time. Shunsui was nice enough to add in to his explanation so that it would be complete without Rabi talking too much. Heh... sorry 'bout that. Ashe gives the both of them a wide smile.

"I cannot see anything to be sorry about, Rabi," then noticing the longing glances that Shunsui keeps on passing at the door, she turns to him, "Do you wish to leave?"

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-02 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh," Shunsui said, doing a little bow in case his glances at the door were being misinterpreted as rudeness. He was saddened that anyone would assume he wanted to leave them behind. "I was only thinking...There must be better places to chat? I can't help but wonder if we're entirely welcome here."

Even though his words might have seem worried, the way he said them certainly wasn't. In fact, his expression was softly apologetic, and his arms were relaxed at his sides.

Oh, I was only thinking...There must be better places to chat? I can't help but wonder if we're entirely welcome here, Ashe looks around at her surroundings for a moment, trying to see what it was that made Shunsui so uncomfortable about staying inside. She finds nothing, but not wanting to offend her new-found companions, she just nods slowly in apprehension to his explanation, "I suppose we can go and continue our conversation someplace else," she makes sure to keep a subtle smile, "Is there somewhere either of you needs to be sometime today?"

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-03 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Shunsui confirmed his earlier suspicions by thinking about the lobby. Yes, velvet carpet, though very nice, was very expensive, and probably more for show than comfort. The wooden chairs were intricately carved...but those gorgeous grapevine designs dug into one's back. Even the bar, beyond the grand piano looked a little too shiny and polished for its own good, as if no one even -drank- there.

Not fun, not fun at all.

Of course, the big reason Shunsui wanted to see if there were any other hotels, was what their sake selection had to offer.

He continued to look friendly and interested in the conversation, even though he had nothing to add at that moment. Maybe, though, they'd end up looking for Rabi's lost friend. And as much as Shunsui liked goofing off, he also liked being included. Something was also nagging at the back of his head, something he needed to ask? Oh, what was it. If only his Nanao-chan were there to help him remember...oh yes! That was it. Shunsui needed to ask Rabi about that girl with glasses he'd mentioned earlier, when the opportunity arose.

"Hmm, I'm sorry but I don't think I have seen anyone like the one you described, but if you haven't tried already, posting on the Message Board is actually a good way to find people," while she had never found anyone she asked for through the Message Board, there were many others who did find their friends and relatives, so it should not be too bad. "I was actually planning on going around town to look for this someone I lost also, so maybe we can go and look together?"

So what he had happened to wander away from that party of idiots and find himself lost of weeks! So what he hadn't eaten in days and he looked more like a skeleton with each passing minute! So what he was... terribly lonely. None of that nonsense mattered, because he'd managed to find his way back to the city, somehow, they were probably still out there on that wild goosechase. Whatever they were chasing, heh, he'd never actually found out.

Hell hadn't changed much in his absence, still looked dark and unexciting, bah, people were still crossing the road to avoid him. Oh well, with pretty good reason, he looked gaunt, like some sort of walking corpse. Well, at least he'd managed to ditch that insane Ashe woman, tch, women out on a mission... It was worse than having to deal with Hector, and that's saying something!

Great! It'd be like a search party! Ashe nods enthusiastically at Rabi's idea. While she usually is not so enthusiastic about other people's ideas, giving her rather choleric personality, it is simply because she rather likes these two men already that she wants to appear nice for them. Weren't you looking for somebody, too? Rabi then asks Shunsui. She turns to the addressed man, but something red and black crossing the window catches her eye, "Isaac!"

Knowing that the man would walk away quickly, considering his height, she spares no time for explanation to the two men as they can probably draw up conclusions anyway, and bolts toward the entrance quicker than anyone would expect a girl in miniskirt could muster. Running out into the cold weather is not a good idea as the wind slapping onto her face makes for a rather unpleasant sensation already. She ignores it, however, and runs toward the staggering scarlet-haired figure passing by the hotel. When their distance is close enough she stops and calls out to him, "Isaac! Where have you been?"

[OOC: Sorry I haven't replied to this in ages, XD can you believe it, I didn't notice that there was a "2" at the bottom of the comments, I'm such a doofus]

He visibly shuddered, he knew that voice, since he didn't take much effort to commit female voices to his memory but that one he happened to remember. It was that insane witch from before, and just as he thought he had finally ditched her she had to just find him when he'd finally muddled his way back to the city.

Hesitating considerably he turned around and faced Ashe, he looked gaunt and tired, he gave her a rather lazy shrug and slurred out a half-arsed reply "Away." Hell, he reasoned with himself that it wasn't really any business of hers anyway, she who simply dragged him on some insane goose-chase for someone he'd never met before? Bah, she didn't deserve a snippet of information about his whereabouts.

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Shunsui followed them out. He hadn't had time to react to Rabi's question; he would like to ask everyone to help him find Nanao sometime soon, though. He was also curious as to who this new person was.

"Hello!" he drawled as he exited the stuffy fancy hotel, accidentally bumping Rabi on the way out. "Hmm, no, this isn't who I was looking for. I'm sure we can all have fun together though! I think Ashe is feeling pressured with all of us men around. Let's go find some more girls to keep her company."

Shunsui beamed for practically no reason at all.

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
The cold weather that surrounds her as she stepped out of the comfort of the hotel lobby does nothing to alleviate her mood, and Isaac's half-hearted answer does not help the situation at all. No one dared to speak to the crown princess in such manner before. "Away, is it?" she replies curtly, "that doesn't cut it, Isaac," she snaps at him and catches hold of his arm, turning around to get out of the terrible weather and back into the lobby when she finds Rabi and Shunsui already standing outside.

You were looking for this guy? You okay, man? You look bushed. Knowing that Isaac would probably find some rude reply to answer Rabi, Ashe takes it to herself to answer the man, "he is fine, he was just lost, that's all," she replies Rabi on behalf of Isaac as if the much older man is her little brother.

Hmm, no, this isn't who I was looking for. I'm sure we can all have fun together though! I think Ashe is feeling pressured with all of us men around. Let's go find some more girls to keep her company. Ashe smiles at Shunsui, "This is Isaac, the one I was looking for," she replies, gesturing to the tattoed man standing behind her. "I do not feel pressured at all, it is absolutely fine, though we do have to start searching for your companions, I suppose."

[identity profile] redcha0s.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
His solitude had driven him to become all the more bitter and snide than before, if such a thing is even imaginable. He usually was a trouble-maker but because of the horrible weather and his horrible personality it showed all the more.

"Bushed?!" he let off a high-pitched cackle and grinned "I'm a whole garden, a forest! Ahaha! Bushed?! Get off me, witch!" he sneered at Ashe and went to shrug off her grip. "She was 'cool' when I met her, but I think I'd like her better dead."

Obviously his time alone had messed him up even more, but the thing is, Ashe probably knew that with the right sort of persuasion Isaac could be totally harmless. So all of his threats and insults didn't really mean all that much.

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oi!" Shunsui looked at Isaac, who was a man obviously in need of a bath, some food, and a good night's sleep. Not a very good mental state at all. "There was no need for that! There'll be no yelling at beautiful women while I'm around. Let's all share some drinks, relax, get some food, and get to know each other. See, I have some sake that I've just been longing to try. Miss Dalamasca, I'll look after this character for you if you like...Oh, what was that, Rabi?"

Shunsui had moved protectively closer to Ashe just in case Isaac tried to make good on his threats, and he tilted his head at Rabi.

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
She would never admit it to a soul, but Isaac's high-pitched cackle and sneer does scare her a bit, but she must not show this man that she is scared of him as that would probably be dangerous for herself. She was 'cool' when I met her, but I think I'd like her better dead. Mustering all the courage she has, she gives Isaac a victorious smirk, "Just know, Isaac, that I will make sure you are as dead as a stone before I let myself die."

There was no need for that! There'll be no yelling at beautiful women while I'm around. Let's all share some drinks, relax, get some food, and get to know each other. See, I have some sake that I've just been longing to try. Miss Dalamasca, I'll look after this character for you if you like...Oh, what was that, Rabi? Pretending that the matter is settled, even though she knows that it is definitely not, she turns back to Shunsui and offers him a reassuring smile, "It is fine, his threats are not dangerous, although it would be wonderful if we can go on our way and," with this she turns to Rabi to acknowledge him, "find the other people we were looking for."

[identity profile] redcha0s.livejournal.com 2006-05-13 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
Isaac was so much akin to a five year old spoiled brat at times that it was uncanny. "I don't want to look for any of your friends, princess of dust! Princess of ash! Princess of nothing!! Who says I want the company of these two idiots either!" If he had ever actually sat down and thought about why he was so insanely argumentative he might've figured out that he had various deep-rooted fears of things like rejection and loosing friendships because of his own top-see tur-vee personality. But... He never did that sort of thing, it was almost leap before you look with Isaac.

However, he visibly winced slightly at what Ashe said, was she making a threat to turn him into stone again? He didn't like that... And just as quickly as he had flared up and threatened and insulted them all he quickly lost his aggressive tone and broke eye contact with them. And when once his body seemed tall and gnarled and fierce, now it just seemed a little small. Poor Isaac had no idea that he was quite so easy to manipulate.

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-14 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Shunsui was left scratching his head in mild confusion. Well, Ashe didn't want his help, and he wouldn't insist out of politeness's sake. Isaac seemed to have calmed down somewhat. Still, there seemed to be imminent arguments ahead, and that made Shunsui feel less relaxed than before.

He couldn't recall a time when the captains back at Soul Society were getting along so unwell. Actually, if he thought hard enough he could remember, but he was somewhat biased out of homesickness. And at least Rabi seemed just as confused as himself.

"A lovely lady named Ise Nanao," Shunsui said to fill in the awkward silence provided by Rabi's yell. He smiled hopefully. "She wears pretty glasses on her pretty little face...She's always carrying a black book."

Shunsui missed being hit by her book.

(OOC: Tag to Rabi~)

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-05-15 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
The term 'Princess of nothing' irks her somewhat because it is rather true, but she keeps quiet because denying it would just prove it to be true. Biting her lower lip in annoyance, she just narrows her eyes at Isaac like she would do to a child, "You'll be wise to keep from insulting them, Isaac." She turns back to Rabi, not missing his drooping hair. She clears her throat to stop herself from laughing and listens to Shunsui as he describes the lady by the name Ise Nanao that he is looking for.

"Well then, we should go on our way to look for Kanda Yuu and Ise Nanao now then," she gives Isaac a threatening glance before turning to both Rabi and Shunsui with a victorious smile, "despite his words, Isaac is utmostly delighted about travelling with you two gentlemen."

[identity profile] redcha0s.livejournal.com 2006-05-15 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
Utmostly?! DELIGHTLY?! How DARE she use such words to describe anything about Isaac, let alone traveling with these bafoons! Ah, but he had to bide his time until the witch wasn't around (blood witches), then he'd give them something to remember him by! Haha!!... Ahem... But for now, all he could do was kick the floor in disgust and say nothing...

Ashe was frightening?! Why couldn't these men see it?! Look at her, face of a child, scrawny, white (blonde) hair, she looked like some horrible ANGEL or something. Ugh... These people don't know the trouble they're getting themselves into!!

[identity profile] manlymanman.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Ashe seemed to have a plan in mind. Shunsui was glad, as he hated having to organize things and actually -lead-. He still hadn't been introduced to Isaac properly, really, but he had no inclination to since the man seemed so grumpy and argumentative.

Shunsui perked up at being called "Shun-chan." Well, there were some nice things about being out of Soul Society, he immediately reflected. No one was bothering him about being a captain.

"My Nanao-chan is so cute," he sighed in what could only be described as a lovesick way, "She's about this tall," he held a hand up to illustrate, "Has black hair tied really tightly back...I imagine she gets such a headache, but you know I just can't convince her to let it down every now and then...Anyway, she wears little glasses on her nose and I miss her."

[identity profile] ah-shay.livejournal.com 2006-05-16 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Ashe just keeps a smile on her face in reply to Rabi's comment about Isaac. She would like to explain how they had exactly met more than ever, but it would be improper to do so in front of Isaac so she keeps silent for the moment. She was very glad when Rabi suddenly stopped from introducing himself and changed the topic to Ise Nanao, the woman that Shunsui is looking for. It would be wonderful if Rabi has met the woman before since they would then have a destination. While she would not say it aloud, it does trouble her that they were going to be walking around with no specific destination they want to reach.

Listening to Shunsui describe Ise Nanao makes her want to grin ear-to-ear as he definitely looks lovesick. Ashe grins mischieviously, "I think we should go and find this Ise Nanao soon as Mr. Shunsui here looks very sick," she turns to Shunsui and her grin widens, "lovesick, that is."
