What Remains [Active/Open]

Character(s): Urd, open!
Content: Urd has lost her true love. Can there be comfort?
Setting: Urd and Ge -- ...Urd's house. :( In M6.
Time: Sunset, week 41
Warnings: None.
Note: To consolidate any and all visits from friends, this log is kinda "party style", as in one comment chain for each visit, all in this post. Thanks!

It was so quiet without him around anymore. Urd never realized just how much life Genie brought to the house. Baking in the kitchen or racing tiny motorcycles through the hallways, impromptu concerts and performances, jokes and songs. Now the house was silent as the grave. Now the house was dull as dirt.

She'd run through a gamut of emotions already. Fear, anger, denial...but there was nothing left but to accept it now. But Urd was tired now. Losing Belldandy twice had been bad, but there was always the knowledge that they were from the same world, to say nothing of the fact that the younger goddess was reunited with Keiichi. And when Belldandy vanished, Genie had always been there to comfort her and lend her some of his seemingly endless strength.

Why did they always leave her behind? In this world and the next, Urd was always watching someone's back as they moved on without her. In the empty house that had once given her so much peace and joy, she pulled her knees to her chest.

Laharl's words still echoed dimly in the back of her mind -- she wasn't giving up yet. She would see him again. Even if it took eternity. Even though her heart hurt so very much, she could feel Genie's power through the pain, thumping along in time with her life. He would always be with her.

Right?

Aladdin came over to her quietly and sat down near her. It’s definitely has been a long day. He closed his eyes before giving a little sigh, before he leaned just slightly closer to her. Someone close to them both was gone, considerably also their best friend. Aladdin looked over to Urd with a small smile, he couldn’t really say much, but he wanted to try to lift the mood at least a little if he could. He gave a little nod to her, “I’m glad you waited for me.”

Wanting to say he’s glad he also had someone to come home to. But he didn’t want her to worry, nor did he want her to feel worse. Honestly there was so much he could say, it was the right words that he had to try and be careful with. He’s never been really good at it, but he tries. Instead Aladdin stretched his arms a bit on his sides, so they were more open, so she can have more room to get closer if she wanted a hug or just someone to lean on.

Aladdin stayed where he was as he observed her. He held his breathe slightly in anticipation. His eyebrows rose at her sentence. Leave? Why would he want to leave? She was his friend, the closest one here in fact, besides Sora. Aladdin turned more to face her, his eyebrow furrowed in bit of confusion. “What? Urd? Why would I want to leave you? You’re my friend, I don’t want to leave your side.”

“Urd…” Aladdin spoke softly in concern. Sure it was Genie that brought them together. That doesn’t make their friendship any less though, that’s sure isn’t how he saw it. Aladdin shook his head and held his own hands, “I don’t-There’s no owing anything here. I don’t feel like there is anyway.”

Aladdin rubbed the back of his neck, “What I’m trying to say is. I’m friends with you because you’re you, that goes the same with Genie, Sora, and everyone I like.” He leaned forward toward Urd again in concern, “And… If there’s one thing I don’t want is being separated from another friend.”

Speaking a little softer Aladdin looked down, “I just… Don’t want you, or…”, looks to side as he gave a short sigh, “Anyone else to be alone.” When he said anyone else he meant himself, but he didn’t want to say it out loud. Although from the expression on his face, one could read into it.
