Exhale [Active]
Character(s): Megara, Jecht, Auron
Content: Meg stumbles out from jail and into the arms of a HERO
Setting: Along the walls making up the domes over the city
Time: Morning
Warnings: None
The last time she saw the sky, Meg was being torn away from Jecht in the middle of a blizzard for attempting to seek warmer shelter. She'd been thrown in a dark cell without a window and only torch light to beat back shadows. After the first few days, her voice went out from all the yelling and angry threats she would spit at the guards and the world in general. Eventually, she curled up in the corner and fumed silently, keeping herself sane by plotting all kinds of vengeance...
..and thinking of Jecht. He was just stupid enough to try to rescue her, even though she didn't even have any idea where she was. Maybe he'd been thrown into a cell too? It didn't seem likely, the way he was fighting the guards during her arrest, but who could say?
When they finally escorted her out into the world again, she was stunned to see all the snow had melted. Stunned and relieved. But for some reason, she was terribly tired and weakened. One hand against the wall of the dome, she slowly picked her way around the city. Even if she was exhausted, she had to find a way to rescue Jecht.

He and Auron had split up -- an attempt to cover more ground, which had led to Jecht storming into several 'well-to-do' looking buildings onl to be met with stares from the public when he demanded to know where they were keeping Meg. What were they staring at anyway? He was wearing a shirt and everything...
He sighed, and kicked at the dirt beneath his feet. The thought of giving up didn't cross his mind, but he seemed to be stumped on where exactly to try next...

"Hey! Watch where your walking, buddy!" she snapped, lifting her head to give the passerby a thorough verbal slap...and then froze. Was that actually Jecht?

He bent down to her try and match the height of her seated position and placed his hands on his shoulders. "How'd you get all the way out here?! Don't tell me they've got one of those public service prison programs goin' on! I was lookin' all over for their stupid holding cells!"

"You're okay..." Megara felt so much relief at this simple bit of news that it felt like the ground was shifting underneath her. No, wait...it was shifting underneath her, the past days catching up with her as her legs buckled and she promptly fainted.

Sweeping her up into his grasp, he looked around for the nearest hotel -- an Actua Are, go figure -- and headed in that direction.
He didn't really pay any attention to the receptionist and instead just ran up the stairs, holding Meg close in the process, and kicked down the nearest door.
Thank goodness the room was empty -- that might have been a little awkward -- and gently he placed her down on the bed. "Water! I'll get some water...!" and with that, he disappeared into the bathroom.

"...Jecht?" she called hesitantly, growing alarmed. Had it been a dream? She had run into him, right?
this is so late BUT FOR SOME REASON YOU LOVE ME ANYWAY
"I got you some water... you feelin' okay?" he asked, thrusting the bucket towards her with both hands. "Uh... sorry, it was all I could find."
I'M AFTER YOUR MONEY
Finally she stopped, setting the water on the floor by the bed. "You idiot...I'm fine. I thought you..." She broke off, flopping back onto the bed with her arm flung over her eyes. "Should've realized you'd be too stubborn to get caught."
