Sneaking out [Complete]
Character(s): Emizel and NiGHTS
Content: Try to make it outside, not gonna end so well.
Setting: The Actua Are in Vanaheim
Time: Sunset
Warnings: Guards and uh, yeeeaah...
There was still a bad feeling about all this. Like something foreboding was gonna happen. But it seemed kinda silly at the same time. Seriously, all they were gonna do was take a trip outside the city, what kind of demon would he be if he was afraid of some handful of guards? Especially considering everything else he's gone through already that had been far more crazier than that.
... Yet somehow that feeling was not shaking off. Maybe it had something to do with all the other unusual people trapped here? If there really was something powerful enough to keep everyone here as a whole, maybe.. maybe there was a good reason to be afraid? Which things Emizel really should be worrying about and which things he could probably ignore made things really, really confusing.
It also didn't help that he was gonna have to do this eventually anyway. And at the moment, NiGHTS was the only one that really could help him. For now he'll just... wait for him to either show up or respond back, while leaning near the windowsill in the hotel room.

Besides, this nightmare problem going around the city was bad enough. Why were so many having nightmares, and all at once? NiGHTS almost wondered if Reala or perhaps Wizeman were involved, but having seen no sign of either in the city, NiGHTS had no choice but to look for them himself and see if they weren't behind it. He felt a little badly for not telling Emizel the real reason as to why he wanted to go look, but it wasn't as if anyone knew he was a Nightmaren - and he had no intention of revealing it himself.

Did not jump, totally did not jump."Y-yeah, I'm ready."That's right. He was gonna do this, he had to do this. There was no turning back now and he wouldn't forgive himself if he passed this up.
"But uh... how are we getting there this time?"

not yet anywaynor anything else he could even simply glide with."B-but I can't fly!" he was avoiding NiGHTS' hand for now. Mostly afraid that he might fall right out the window.

He was still thinking it over at least, and what other options he had. Which frankly there was none unless he wanted to walk or take the sled again. At least if he does fall he'll most likely land into a soft, thick layer of snow, hopefully.
He made a slight noise as he tried to come up with a decision. "... Alright," finally, he reached for NiGHTS' hand.

"Ahmm... r-right," he wasn't even sure if NiGHTS could hear him, or if he even could talk like this, but he tried anyway.

NiGHTS slowed a bit at the sight of the guards, frowning. They didn't exactly seem happy to see him, and NiGHTS was in no mood to deal with them. "Well," he huffed, as though he had already explained what he was going to do, "are you guys gonna move out of the way, or not?" Forget that stupid mayor, people needed help.

"Can't we just go around them?" surely in the amount of time it took to get here, the two of them could maybe just slip right through the gate without the guards able to keep up.

Unfortunately, as NiGHTS had warned Emizel, he felt the dualization process begin to come undone. "Whoops! Better fly lower," he said, zipping towards the ground in order to make the inevitable fall a little easier on his companion.

The best Emizel could do was hope that NiGHTS could hold on for just awhile longer. Otherwise he was going to have to be prepared for the worse.

... Normally it wasn't the demonly thing to be rescuing people. However this could be taken as an exception. Besides, he needed NiGHTS with him if he wanted to find that floor.
He finally got up with a staff magically in hand now, and created what appeared to be a large gust of wind. One that would hopefully knock back the guard currently grabbing on to NiGHTS, as well as the rest that were on their way.

Growling, NiGHTS struggled, but his lack of strength combined with the guards' determination meant he was losing quickly. He never was very good at defending himself once he was grounded. "Emizel," he called, still fighting, "get out of here!"
no subject
"I can't just leave you here!" and by now Emizel's chances at escaping had probably dropped tremendously anyway. Not that he wanted to run either, his old self would have done so by now, but he ended that habit. Although right as soon as he said that some guards were coming right his way too, but luckily a fireball was enough to keep them back.

"Where are you taking me?" NiGHTS demanded, glaring at the guards as well as the citizens who merely stepped back, their thoughtless obedience angering him. Couldn't they see what was going on, here? This sort of thing would affect them, too. "Let me go!" he cried out again, struggling harder as he felt more hands grasping his arms. "Emizel! Run away!"
no subject
Before Emizel knew it he was flung into a side of a wall where he fell in a pile of snow. If he was still awake after that it was hard to say, but one thing for sure, he wasn't getting up.
