Meeting Between Diclonius and Goddess [Complete]
Character(s): Urd and Nana
Content: Nana hopes to have a place to live with Urd, Genie, and Aladdin. They must speak about this first face to face.
Setting: by Jogo da Crianca entrance
Time: Week 33, afternoon (taking place soon after this)
Warnings: None, other than some details of Nana's background pre-Paixao. Nothing any sweet kid like her should've gone through. D8
Before leaving, Nana had a little dilemma to think about. Should she pack up her handbag, or leave it where it was, in addition to her drawings scattered all over the balcony? The walk over there wasn't a long one, she considered, so it should be okay. None of those papers were going anywhere. None of those strange humans who never gave her trouble would care if she did, right?
She hoped to stay with another friend she made--even though she met Aladdin only once. Not only was he nice, but fun to be with! He was one of the two adults she hadn't felt timid around, apart from Kakyuu. He never meant any harm. Getting the chance to learn how to play a simple game was a day she never forgot. And when he talked about Genie she felt excited and kept the invitation in mind to learn on how to play more games.
Nana reminded herself that any friend of Aladdin's was a friend of hers. Meeting Urd in person would help Nana decide if she could really trust her. She had to believe that everything would turn out okay.
Because loneliness was something she desperately did not want. At first she had no choice but to endure it, for as long as she could remember. Being confined by herself to a room when no one needed to use her as a test subject was what part of her life used to be. She realized that Director person wouldn't let Nana leave the facility, that terrible place! Papa had to listen to him, or he'd have been seen as useless!
Those past weeks were things she cherished in the city without fear, pain, or worries. It was what Papa truly wanted for Nana, this happiness. To live peacefully was the last thing he told her to do.
Nana took her time on heading to the park's iron fence, going over some of the things that was discussed over the journals. She didn't have to focus her ghost arms and hands as much to hold in the limbs her Papa gave her. Neither of her legs were going to come loose.
Urd had said the truth about the rest of those she interacted with through the journals. Timon and Woody--they lent their support to help her search for Papa. She gave them his description.
She then remembered that she didn't get the chance to tell Aladdin what Papa looked like. She was too caught up in the game of tag...

All she could do now was wait for her to show up and hope she was as sweet and innocent as she seemed to be.

Finally, at the fence--where she and Kakyuu had first met Toboe--Nana noticed Urd standing there. Her pink eyes searched and recognized her face from the little pictures on her journal. Her light hair was so long and shiny. Her tanned skin made her stand out from all the humans who had much lighter colored skin. Those blue marks on her face piqued her curiosity. Why were they there? How did Urd get them?
Nana focused as two of her vectors wrapped and secured her prosthetic limbs in place. She began to move faster. "I'm here!" She wore a cute little smile as she waved, coming closer.
no subject
"Nana. I recognize you from the journals." She definitely wasn't human -- Urd could sense the power of her running quietly, constantly. Bending down, she peered into the girl's face. "Do you mind if ask you some questions?"
no subject
Part of her hoped Urd wouldn't be disturbed by the sight of them. She'd feel at ease. The horns, as the humans back at the facility told her, weren't normal.
Urd didn't need to bend down far. Nana in age was seven. However, she never fully understood why her body aged much faster than regular human bodies did. Yes, she was different, so different--but she shared the same feelings humans did, right?
As Urd spoke, she slightly felt troubled. "Um..." I want to trust her. I really do. Urd hasn't lied and she's trying to help me... She's not bad. She's not.
"I'll tell you what I can."
no subject
Urd glanced sidelong at the girl. "What are you?"
no subject
When following Urd, her expression could be easily read as "Huh?"
"I'm a diclonius." Her head tilted to the side. "What are you?"
no subject
"I'm a goddess." She floated off the pathway, making a slow circle around the girl. "I hold more power than most and it's my job to make sure the world...or worlds...stay in balance and continue to exist." She decided not to mention just how often she'd shirked that particular duty.
no subject
"You're very powerful...?" Nana never heard of a goddess or anything like that. Some of what Urd explained was beyond her, the floating too. The gawking couldn't be avoided as her gaze never left Urd. "How can you do that?" She moved a little closer and and leaned forward, but couldn't see any outline of transparent arms holding her up. "No special arms and hands to hold you up?"
Nana backed up a bit, and then demonstrated. The two vectors that weren't holding anything, she focused on them to lift her up two feet from the ground, and then a foot higher. She was close enough for Urd to see those arms arched down, the hands on the ground--palms flat. The faint outlines could be seen.
no subject
"I've never seen something like that before. No, I don't have anything like that. My power is something else and it's complicated to explain and sort of boring. All you need to know is that I can protect you, if you need it." She tilted her head, folding her arms under her chest as she gave her an appraising glance.
"Though I'm starting to think you might not need it."
no subject
Lucy wasn't around though. Nana hoped she would never find this place.
"Her vectors are much stronger than mine, but she isn't here. I don't sense Lucy anywhere." She looked to Urd, curious. "Can you show me something? Maybe it won't be so complicated if you did." It would only be fair if she did. Already, Nana thought it amazing to see that Urd didn't need vectors to be above ground.
no subject
"Alright. Just don't get alarmed, okay?" she said with a smile. A burst of smoke appeared where Urd was and in her place, several small versions of herself flew around, circling Nana and tickling her. Then each Mini Urd burst into smoke once more and the full-sized Urd was standing in front of Nana again, hands pressed over her heart.
One black and one white feathered wing unfurled from her back, glowing with a light all their own. An angel rose from behind Urd, pale but for the black scrolling marks up her arms and down her sides. Her hair was dual-colored like her wings, swept back and curled at the end. The angel mirrored Urd's movements exactly as the goddess opened her mouth and sang a wordless song. Under their feet, grass and flowers began to grow, swirling around Nana's feet.
When Urd stopped her song, the angel gave Nana a small smile before fading away and the growth beneath them ceased.
no subject
The smoke did startle her but then the tickling along her neck and shoulders by the several small versions of Urd made her laugh. She squirmed and giggled with delight. There was no recollection of getting this funny feeling on her skin before.
The next thing that happened made her stare in wonder. The pretty lady that emerged along with Urd--where did she come from? What was she? The song Urd was singing had no words, but it sure did sound nice.
The growing grass and the flowers on the ground--where did they come from?! Such a variety of colors and sizes.
When it was all over, after Nana had taken in everything that happened, her pink eyes widened, excited and looking blown away by all that her new friend could do. "Wow!" Her mind was swirling with questions, but Nana couldn't find it in herself to ask anything yet. A bunch of nice things happened but she wasn't sure where to start.
no subject
"So what all can you do with those vectors of yours?"
no subject
At the question about her vectors, Nana's excitement began to dim. "I could lift some things, but not really heavy things...and I can do this too."
A vector moved quickly and cleanly sliced off a nearby branch off of one of those fake trees. It fell down onto the shiny grass with a soft thud.
no subject
None of her thoughts showed up on her face, however. Urd smiled slightly, whistling. "Whoa...that's pretty sharp, kid! You can definitely protect yourself." She took her eyes from the cleanly cut branch and watched Nana curiously.
"Why don't you want to live alone?"
no subject
Urd's next question made her look and feel nervous. Wanting to stay with someone wasn't really much of a problem, right? "Back where used to be my home...whenever Papa had to work, I was left by myself in a room, or--left with the doctors at the facility." Nana's eyes lowered as she did not like talking about this. Her voice sounded very timid as she was trying say as little as possible, yet enough so that her friend would understand. "I had no friends, and I didn't like living there very much. What they did to me hurt, a lot. That's why... It's why I want to stay here."
no subject
"Okay. I can't see any reason why you shouldn't stay with us. No one should be alone here."
no subject
"Really? Yaaay!" Nana held Urd's hands in hers, smiling. "I can't wait to see Aladdin again. We had so much fun playing tag over here, with Hope and Xion and all the other kids..."
Learning more games was another thing she was looking forward to. She could show Papa how peacefully she was living, and he would pat her on the head just as Urd did.
no subject
"We live in a house my sister made with her magic. She's a goddess too," Urd explained as she flew. "We'll have to make room for you but it's nothing Genie can't handle. Everyone will be happy to have you around."
no subject
Just then, Nana remembered about the bag Papa gave her, along with the papers, crayons, and a few things Kakyuu got for her. So, she had something very important to tell Urd. "Ah! Hold on! Not far from here is the apartment Kakyuu and I lived in. At Iriela Apartments. My clothes and things are back there. It's not too much to carry, so could we go there and get them?" In fact, from this far up, she could see the mess she made on the balcony when she was feeling so scared about Kakyuu and Toboe earlier. Papers were strewn about, her crayon box left open. She pointed toward that area. "Down there. See? Those are my drawings..."
no subject
She was content to go on about her two favorite people when the topic suddenly shifted. "Huh? Oh." Leaning down, she peered at the top of the roof curiously, taking in the mess. "Alright, hang on!" And then she was descending, quicker than most would like, but Nana was safe, floating down with her to the roof as if on an invisible cushion.
no subject
They weren't all that great of drawings of her Papa, his head and body not looking so round in real life. But she got all the colors right at least--his hair black, the string on his neck purple, the blue suit he wore. She really knew her colors, thanks to him!
She finished gathering all the papers in front of her. There were still some behind her, and at least one that fell to the ground.

The apartment door she left open as she went on in to gather the three other dresses Kakyuu helped Nana to purchase. The old, torn black and white one she used to wear had been thrown away, because it was too ratty around the sleeves.
"I need something to put these in," Nana said to herself. She could always carry them herself, but she didn't want them to get dirty. They've been washed and cleaned yesterday!
The closet! Wasn't there a box over there, big enough to fit them in? Nana made a beeline for the closet door in a different room to the right of the bedroom she came into.
no subject
She didn't like this Papa. Not at all.
Urd joined Nana inside, glancing around. "Nana? Are you ready?"
no subject
Then she closed the latch as Kakyuu had shown her some days back. "Okay. Now I'm ready!" One of her vectors wrapped around the box and dragged it out of the closet. "Is it far? To your house? I don't know how long I could hold onto while we're in the air."
no subject
...the box flew up to the ceiling and then crashed back to the floor. "Ah." She rubbed the back of her neck, laughing sheepishly. "Sorry, sorry! Thought it was heavier than that! Uh, let's...try that again." Subtlety was never Urd's strong suit, but she managed to tone down her power enough so that the box floated harmlessly in the hair behind her.
Smiling, she turned and looked at Nana from over her shoulder. "Just hold on to me, kid. We'll be there in no time."
no subject
When the box hit the ceiling with a bonk before it fell back down, Nana moved close to Urd as her vector withdrew. When Urd looked embarrassed, she could only smile. Then she saw her luggage float behind the goddess.
"Oh!" Her handbag. She went back out, picked it up, and let the strap hang from one her shoulder before returning to take Urd's hand, trusting and ready to fly with her.
no subject
She walked up the steps and opened the door, beckoning Nana to follow. Heading up the stares, she frowned as a white blur streaked past. "Ugh...that's Poncho, Genie's pet Lumen." She paused, glancing back at Nana. "Do you know what Lumens are?"
no subject
"Okay! I wonder where they went..." The white blur that moved past them had her blinking in confusion. "So, that's what those white creatures are? I've seen them in the streets sometimes."
no subject
She opened a door, revealing a simplistic set of furniture arranged in a cozy room -- a twin bed, white and blue. A light wooden desk and a matching dresser. White gauzy curtains billowed lightly at the open window. "Here we are...what do you think?"
no subject
She couldn't really recall having anything that was like Darkness. A lot of the time, she knew she was a good girl...
Nana was however too shy to touch the cat that was Genie's. After all, it made an unhappy sound at Urd! She walked past him and into the house.
"This looks really nice," she commented, her lips upturned into a simple smile as she looked at everything. She moved towards the desk and placed her light brown handbag on it for right now. "Is this your room, Urd?"

Nana looked behind her and made sure to pick up the box with her dresses in it. With just one vector, she could feel the weight but picked it up with little effort to place on the bed. It looked as if the box floated through the air to gently land on the mattress that looked inviting to sit on.
She watched Urd take out some of her drawings, and soon she'd take notice of that green paper money, the other thing Papa gave to her besides her new arms and legs. He sure did give her a lot of it.
Nana was about to ask what Urd meant by "summon" until she brought up the subject of food. "I like any kind of food! Back where I used to live, one of the doctors fed me soup and sandwiches a lot. Those are good. And I already tried spaghetti, chicken, salads, cheesecake, warm chocolate cookies..." The diclonius couldn't help but smile with delight! "Can Belldandy and Genie make those? And other foods too? There's still so much I haven't tried."
no subject
"Hm? Oh." She turned and grinned, folding her arms under her chest. "They can make anything you'll ever went. Goddesses and genies don't need to eat so they'll be excited to find another mouth to feed. All you'll have to do is ask and you'll receive. Though they may make you help them out."
She stepped forward and placed her hands on Nana's shoulders, bending slightly to peer into the girl's eyes. "I'll let you get situated up here while I find the others and fill them in. Welcome home, Nana."
no subject
When Urd came over and expressed the warm welcome, Nana wrapped her arms around her. "Thank you, so much. I...I'm sure I'm going to love it here."
Nana let go, and gave a nod. She couldn't supress her incoming giddiness. "I'm sure everyone else will be surprised!" Of course, she was especially looking forward to seeing Aladdin again.
no subject
She turned and headed to the door, pausing briefly to look over her shoulder at her. "Remember what I said earlier, though. The time may come when someone comes to you for help in leaving here. Eventually, I'd like to know more about your past." And then she was gone, heading down the hall in search of the others.
I think this tag will close up this log.
After Urd left, Nana sat on her new bed and glanced at the box that remained latched. Then she found the closet. In under a minute, the few outfits Kakyuu helped Nana to purchase she made sure they were hung nice and neatly.
Once that was finished, she pulled her journal out of her handbag before sitting back down on the bed again. She opened it and checked for voice messages on the network while waiting for Urd to return with Aladdin, Genie, and Belldandy.
