sparks ignite and trade them for thought. [ active / closed ] COMPLETE
Character(s): Axel & Sora.
Content: Axel, being thestalker good lookout/friend he is, has spied himself a Sora to blame for Roxas' absence.
Setting: the Café Sora and Rinzler had found themselves in.
Time: Slightly backdated. Late afternoon. Let's go with Week 29?
Warnings: some good ol' fashioned violence?
There wasn't much that escaped number VIII, especially when he was on high alert. Roxas had failed to show up at their planned meeting and of course, the redhead was ready to find the source of the problem. There were plenty of people in the city who were planting all sorts of strange ideas into his head, and there was no doubt in his mind that at least one of them was the reason for his failure to show.
Of course, there were a few names at the top of that list. Sora being one of them.
Axel had had his eyes glued to the brunette kid for a little while now, up to and including watching him and that weirdo helmet guy go into the café. The redhead's post was a building across the way, perched on the rooftop. It would be too public to confront Sora inside and if he was playing buddy buddy with that guy, well, there was no sense in piling the odds up against him, even if Axel was sure he could take both of them without breaking a sweat.
Arms across his chest, he leaned over the side of the ledge, hood up, watching the door carefully for when they'd make their exit, and preferrably, go their separate ways.

*rows in on failboat*
Sora sighed heavily, he wasn't sure what to make of Rinzler. He just seemed quiet, and anti-social, and since Sora knew plenty of people like that who could still be friendly.
he's on your tail, sailor~
Without even realizing it, his grip on the side of the roof's contour tightened. When he looked down, he was puzzled for a moment as to why... what was so different about this kid from the others?
"The keyblade's chosen. Hmph."

It would make it that much easier for someone to get the drop on him.

"Axel?!" His face might have been obscured, but there was no mistaking that voice.

Something in the back of his mind tried to remind him that Axel was still an Organization member, and even if Sora considered him a friend, Axel might not, so he would need to keep his guard up...
no subject
"But there's no way you'd go and do something like that now, is there?"
no subject
He knew that memories sometimes didn't line up, and that nearly all of his friends didn't know it. But he didn't want Axel as an enemy, not after what he did for him in the corridor of darkness.

What was Axel going on about? What did he even want? This little encounter was just succeeding in making Sora confused.

"If there's something wrong just tell me, Axel"

"Axel, what are you doing?"

"Something you should understand well, Keyblade Master! Protecting what's mine! Burn, baby!" and with that, he lifted both arms above his head, a rush of flames sent out to engulf Sora, dissipating a moment later.

When the fire bloomed up around Sora, he tired to call up Reflega again, but was a moment too late. But Sora had gotten hit with worse attacks, it was nothing a well placed Curaga wouldn't fix.
"Just tell me!" Sora yelled once the fire dissipated.
no subject
"Isn't that convenient! Don't even realize what you're getting yourself into do you?!" the aggrevation was starting to become more evident, as he flung himself forward, bringing down his weapons in a variety of strikes, wanting more than anything just to be able to land a hit with his own hands!

Sora stepped closer to Axel, holding his hands out by his side and loosening his grip on his Keyblade. He was trying to show that he wanted to be friendly. He wasn't about to put his guard down completely, though, one wrong move from Axel and he'd be on the defensive again.

"Do you mean Roxas? Why shouldn't I be hanging around him? He's my friend!"
And if Axel was worried about Roxas, then Sora was completely willing to help both of them make things right. Though, he doubted it would be easy to convince Axel to let him help.

Of course, the way Axel was acting made it clear that Axel wasn't his friend. And that made Sora feel horrible.

"I see... I get it now..." and with that, the flames ignited around him again. "You just throw that word around like it means nothing. Is that it?!"
no subject
And why wouldn't he? After the way Axel had helped him on the way to the World That Never Was. Of course, Sora knew that Axel didn't know about that. That Axel was supposed to be his enemy.

"Axel! Stop!" He yelled, hoping that, somehow, it would reach him. He didn't want to fight.
no subject
"What's the matter?! Why don't you fight back, huh?!"

Roxas...
Axel took another look at Sora, and narrowed his eyes again. "You see this coat? That means I'm the bad guy. Or haven't you heard? You don't have a choice Sora."
no subject
Sora knew Axel could be better than this, that he was better than this. Sora had seen it. But that was entirely up to Axel, now. Sora had done all he could, he'd extended the offer of friendship, Axel just had to decide whether or not he should take it.

"It means you don't have to be the bad guy"
But, all things considered, Axel probably thought he didn't have that choice, at least, that's how Sora saw it. That the Organization was the only option he had. And Sora was beginning to realize that, maybe, this was just a waste of time. Why had he thought that becoming friends with Axel would be so easy?
no subject
"Heh." A chuckle finally broke the intensity of the quiet. He waved his arms behind him, the chakrams disappearing into the dead space with the motion. "What would you know? You're just a kid."
no subject
"Whatever you say, Axel..."

Sora replied, practically glaring at Axel now. His... stubborness was beginning to get on Sora's nerves.

"I'm sorry, Axel..."
