This is Halloween~ [Active/Open]
Character(s): Link, those who said they'd join him here, and anyone else who wants to come in too.
Content: Monster in Halloween Town? Sounds like a job for a hero!
Setting: Beginning at the church, then heading to Halloween Town
Time: Morning (Week 32)
Warnings: Fighting!
The false sun hadn't risen too long ago, and the light it gave off was still soft, and the shadows were still fairly long, though getting shorter by the minute. Link was finishing off the bottle of milk he had bought as he walked towards the church, the meeting place for his little excursion into Halloween Town. There had been a little bit of talk about a monster causing havoc there, and being the Hero of Time, Link felt it was his job to get rid of it. Or at least try to get rid of it. Sure, this wasn't Hyrule, but until he could find a way back there, he would have to make the best of it here in Paixao. Besides, he couldn't slack off on his skills. It was about time he tested himself against something like...whatever was waiting for him.
It didn't take long for Link to reach the church. He looked around inside to check to see if anyone had made it there before he did, but he found the building vacant. He came back out and sat on the steps, pulling out the ocarina and playing it while waiting for everyone else to meet him.

!!!
In the shadows, a man stood and leaned against a vertical timber.
This will end well...
He hesitated. "Are...are you here for Halloween Town?" Link's muscles were tense. He had just seen this guy, but he already didn't like him. From his own experience, people who hung in the shadows like that weren't the best to have around.

She noticed Link, first, and was just about to swoop down and say hello when she noticed the strange man tapping rhythmically and halted her descent. "And who might you be?" she asked him, her tone friendly enough for the moment. Despite that, she didn't sure she liked him already; something about him seemed wrong, somehow,

When NiGHTS crossed the threshold of the church, the shade chuckled briefly. "Once we get into Halloween Town, I'll be glad to introduce myself. While I'm still in Paixao, I have far too much on my mind. Call it a vacation."

He had also noticed a third person arrive, but it seemed they both realized that the man in the shadows seemed threatening somehow. They could introduce each other once this guy left. "I don't see why you have to move somewhere else to tell us your name."
Sorry; I didn't get the notif!
no subject
"Take the lead, please," he motioned in the shadows, his polite hand blending into the dark.
no subject
At least the other...person seemed decent. Link just hoped she didn't have the idea that Link had invited the other guy along. He just glared into the shadows, clenching his teeth and waiting for an excuse to punch the man in the shadows.
no subject
"Anyway," she continued, leading the way herself as she was impatient to get going, "there's no sense in getting into an argument. Let's head in, shall we?" And with a giggle, she began to do just that, twirling and dancing in the air as she did.

If either person soon traveling with him had bothered to look to the rafters at that particular moment, they would see a neon-glowing skeleton with deep-set eyes grinding its teeth with its thin limbs reaching out. The next moment, the darkness enveloped the ghostly man again and he waited. "Lead the way."

Link approached a door in the back of the church. He had been through it before to get to Spira. There was another path to take on the other side of the door though, the one that led to Halloween Town. He opened the door and stepped through into the white hallway, looking back to make sure NiGHTS had come through. "Have you been to any of the other worlds before?"
no subject
NiGHTS swooped through the door once Link opened it, twirling and laughing joyfully all the while. "Yep!" came the cheerful response. "I've been to them lots of times. I've never really bothered to get involved in their problems before, though." Boredom, it seemed, bore strange fruit. The Nightmaren looked amusedly down at herself as she began to change into a form that was distinctly more... nightmarish. Unsurprising, of course; NiGHTS knew about the changes that took place in this town, especially as she'd been here before (And it wasn't as though she wasn't a Nightmaren to begin with).

He waited carefully to see Link make his way toward the threshold of the door before leaping off the ceiling beam and hitting the ground full-force. The light showed just how heavily the clothes hung on his meager frame. He strode with fervor toward the open door and smiled as he could feel the welcoming embrace of his old persona.

After his freak out, Link stood still and listened. As he suspected, he didn't hear any signs of a monster. With his experience though, the monster wasn't going to show itself until it had them all right where it wanted them. "I guess we better start looking around for this thing."
no subject
"Oh, right," she realized, pausing in her dance. "We should introduce ourselves now, shouldn't we? I'm NiGHTS." SHe took a bow, playfully dramatic as always, and continued. "Nice to meet you!"
no subject
"How right you are!" he said as he gracefully held NiGHTS hand during her bow. "Harold Saxon, Prime Minister." He moved toward Link and gave offered a solid handshake. "And you?"
no subject
He gazed out at the area around them. For the moment, it looked deserted, the only noise coming from the wind whistling through the bare, dead trees. "I guess we should head into town. It doesn't look like anything's waiting for us here." He started off.
no subject
"You know, I wonder what's really in this place," she called to the others. She'd seen Heartless around here before, but they were no problem. Maybe that was all there was, but she couldn't help being curious.
I AM HORRIBLE.
"Link, is it? You seem like the hero type, real American style. I promise, I'll not get in the way if you want. But if you need my help, simply say my name," he said with his eyebrows wagging. He seemed far too confident for a visitor going into one of the unknown realms beyond Paixao.
no subject
"Right." Link gave up trying to be too friendly with this guy. He seemed far to comfortable to be in a place such as this, especially since there was a monster running around. "I'll keep that in mind."
...No, not really. Even if he did have information that might be helpful in Halloween Town, Link didn't trust Harold at all, and he would be far more comfortable if he just left. He was sure both he and NiGHTS could take care of the monster themselves. Speaking of which...
"Hey, NiGHTS! Do you see anything up there?"
no subject
She stopped her acrobatics at the question and looked around, spotting an ominous shape in the distance. "I think I see something!" she called back, pointing. "Over there! Let's go check it out!" And without another word, she took off, speeding towards whatever that odd shadow was. Hopefully, the others could keep up; NiGHTS didn't have the patience to take it slow right now.
no subject
He looked over to Link while sustaining the grin, now exposing his shimmering teeth. "Shall we?" he asked with the bravado of an evangelist politician. He lengthened his arm outward to show the way toward NiGHTS' flight. Even though he was making a friendly gesture, everything from his smile to the pool of red in the upholstery of his overcoat was almost foreboding, trumping a land full of ghosts and ghouls.
no subject
Link took his sword from its sheath and grabbed his shield. It wasn't just to get ready for the monster coming their way...
no subject
Speaking of which, she wished they'd hurry up. Was it her fault everyone else always seemed to be so slow?
no subject
His eyes continued following NiGHTS who seemed all too excited to find danger ahead. It was a good foil to all the do-gooders and the space cadets he had previously come across. He wondered if he could gather another new companion soon enough.
