An unexpected and abrupt disturbance. [Closed]
Character(s): Axel, Kadaj.
Content: Axel and Kadaj... turn into animals!
Setting: Savage Garden.
Time: Thursday afternoon.
Warnings: ...knowing them? Who KNOWS what.
After Axel had completed Kadaj's "transition" they had spent quite some hours just talking, with Kadaj's body held close to his. Axel greeted the comfort of someone else with enthusiasm; it was a missed comfort of having someone fawn over him in that means. He'd told him about the Organization, their mission... but he hadn't mentioned to Kadaj that he had not originally been a Nobody. Of course not.
But all things must come to an end. It had happened abruptly; Axel felt their bodies shifting slightly, when he hadn't been aware he had chosen to move. He looked down at Kadaj and his eyes had widened as large as saucers, and instinctively he jerked backward, the fur bristling on the back of his neck.
Wait, what?
Never mind Kadaj, Axel looked down at his form and let his jaw hang open in surprise, letting out a surprised yelp. He wasn't human anymore! What was this?! He didn't understand it at all, how could this be happening...? Animals had been disabled in Paixao... and he hadn't even been one in the first place!
Axel made note of the long stretches of black and red fur up and down his legs, felt the way his hackles raised tensely on his back. He looked over his shoulder and behind him, narrowing his eyes on the tail idly swaying back and forth from his behind, and down at his long... very long back legs. His pants, which had previously been worn on his hips, were on the ground beneath him, as well as his shoes. The redhead looked ahead again, and focused on Kadaj – who seemed to be having a similar problem.
"Well I'll be damned. Something fucked up."

Wait... this was Axel, not an enemy! What had come over him? He forced himself to calm down, laughing softly to cover his temporary loss of control and venturing a little closer to examine him. "Seems like someone did," he said in amused tone.
He stretched slowly, curious about this new body. It seemed like he had at least some of the instincts to go with it, or at least was using that as an excuse to get closer to Axel and start licking his fur into place, grooming him. What? It seemed like a good idea after all. Besides, it would probably calm him down too, and having an angry canine after him didn't sound like an attractive option at all.

His attention was eventually returned to Kadaj. It was hard to ignore being licked, after all. He knew he should have been worried about figuring out what had caused this all, but somehow the rare opportunity to be... groomed by the likes of Kadaj seemed much more appealing. Regardless of the nervousness balling in his gut, Axel emitted a low, whine-growl of pleasure, nuzzling his head against Kadaj and letting his flat, large tongue loll out from his maw again, lapping it against the cat's fur in return.
Honestly, he could get used to this.

He paused just long enough to ask, "Shouldn't we... do something about it?" before immediately going back to slowly running his tongue over the red fur, eyes closing lazily. Being a cat seemed to suit him just a bit too much.

He pawed at the button to open it, and thankfully that worked. Once it turned on, he struggled to try to... type with his paws. It was a slow process, but he got the hang of it. Having long nails on the digits of his paws certainly helped.
Eventually, some sort of map popped up on the screen: Paixao. There were billions and billions of dots on the map... all moving about. He pressed a button, and the map changed: the jungle. There were only a few moving dots on the screen, and Axel narrowed his eyes, focusing in on one that hovered near the entrance to the jungle...
He nudged his nose against the screen, and some sort of profile popped up. A growl rumbled in his throat. "Simba..."

The journal intrigued him. He actually felt like batting at the screen, something that was really starting to aggravate him. His ears flattened against his head slightly-- how long was this going to last? It was kind of interesting, sure, but the novelty was starting to wear off already. Well... sort of. He nudged his head against Axel again, purring.

He turned around, and looked about the area slowly, another irritated snarl emitting from him. He trotted to a tree and plopped the electronic object down, and then began to dig at its base, frantically, kicking up the dirt with his forelegs. "She should have known to fix that kind of thing," he muttered to himself spitefully. Soon enough there was a sizable hole, in which he nudged the journal, and covered it with the dirt.
Once he was done, he headed back over to his pants and boots, snatching them up in his jaws and beginning to drag them off. "Mmaph mur mlothes." Take your clothes. And he began to quickly jog up the hill toward the water fall.

His ears flattened back against his head as he followed him, and he kept his head slightly down as though trying to make himself seem as small and unassuming as possible. He wasn't even thinking about it; he was actually just wondering why Axel's almost dismissal of his actions had hurt so much. It was probably just some animal thing...

Maybe just behind the waterfall would have to do. He'd also have to get himself wet again for that, but it was just something he'd have to tolerate, as much as he hated to. Heading down near the edge of the river, Axel moved back through the way he came, trying to pass under the water as quickly as possible; that didn't seem to make a difference, however. He came out on the other side sopping wet.
Growl. Quickly making his way across the rocks, he made his way to that small cave, and decided he was too irritated to think properly, and ended up just dropping down his clothing at the entrance. Stepping away from the black pile, he powered his head and shook himself off, careless of who or what got hit with the water.

He didn't really mind getting wet, at least not when he moved under the waterfall after Axel, and he quickly stifled a small laugh at his expense before following him to the entrance of the cave. Unfortunately, he didn't quite realize Axel was going to try to dry himself off like that, and he backed away just a little too late to completely avoid the flying water. He dropped his clothes and shook himself off too, unable to stop himself from giving Axel a dirty look before starting to wash himself-- the right way.
"So how will we take care of the intruder?" he asked, glancing up at him as he licked his tongue down his side. The action felt so natural that he didn't even realize there was anything wrong with doing it until a few moments later, and he paused for a second before continuing, pretending like he meant to do that the whole time. Right. He stopped rather quickly though, facing Axel again and scratching at his neck with one hind leg. This was getting kind of annoying...

"I don't know," he growled softly. "Kill him. He's probably moved by now, so we have to look for him..." He stared blankly ahead a moment before sighing dejectedly, lifting his hind leg up and beginning to scratch behind his ear with it. "It won't be easy, he's a lion. I don't have access to my powers here, either."
...That's right. DAMNIT. They were so fucked right now. His leg lowere but he lurched forward and growled viciously at apparently nothing at all, before letting his body fall down onto the dirt floor of the cave limply, and he let out a whine. It wasn't like Axel to be so doubtful of himself, but it was a bit difficult to keep his head when the damn jungle had been breeched. Who knew who else was going to wander in...
Or who else would find out.

"The two of us should be able to handle it, right?" he asked, starting to groom him again. He slowly licked away the droplets of water still clinging to Axel's fur, unable to stop his purr. It was harder to be intimidated by him when he was acting so... pathetic, almost, or maybe that was just the cat talking. Either way, Kadaj nudged him slightly again, trying to get him to move. "We just have to track him down and kill him. Come on. He's just an animal after all."
... Well, so were they, at the moment. It was still true, though.

"We'll see," he said quietly, standing up on all fours. The cat had no idea how much Axel just wanted to stay in this cave and curl up and be licked and hear him purr, like they really were just a pair of animals, like they had no troubles at all - but he had a job to do.
Taking a breath, the maned wolf began to head deeper into darkness of the cave - though not before pausing to give Kadaj a glance over, and then lean in to give a short nip and lick at the corner of his muzzle. He didn't want him to feel ignored, after all.

Then again, as nothing but a little fishing cat... how much damage could he do? ... A lot, hopefully, because he wasn't going to let this trespass go unpunished.
He crept softly through the cave after Axel, ears pricked forward and eyes sweeping the area cautiously. It didn't seem likely that Simba would just pop up out of nowhere like the slightly paranoid actions seemed to suggest, but it never hurt to be cautious. At least his eyes were much better at piercing the darkness than his usual ones... but they'd be back to normal sooner or later, so there wasn't much point in dwelling over it now. Even if it was fun.

Whether the action was done or not, Axel moved toward him to hook his head around his and rest his head against Kadaj's shoulder - it seemed like an affectionate gesture, but it was also necessary in order to teleport.
Thankfully, it worked. They were off to Kairi's throne room.
