The growling was making Kadaj a little nervous, and even after Axel had stopped he was a little reluctant to get close to him. He half-heartedly scratched at his neck again, staring off at nothing for a moment, before sighing softly and padding over to his side, nudging his head against him slightly.
"The two of us should be able to handle it, right?" he asked, starting to groom him again. He slowly licked away the droplets of water still clinging to Axel's fur, unable to stop his purr. It was harder to be intimidated by him when he was acting so... pathetic, almost, or maybe that was just the cat talking. Either way, Kadaj nudged him slightly again, trying to get him to move. "We just have to track him down and kill him. Come on. He's just an animal after all."
... Well, so were they, at the moment. It was still true, though.
